  • carlton got ripped!!!

  • i think he's ethiopian

  • As I understand this lift, and have been taught it, he is doing it wrong. On the way down you should bring the weights closer together into your body, so the dumbbells touch. I was also taught never to let your elbows drop below a 90 degree angle. This puts more/constant stress on the shoulders. But hey, what do I know, I'm just some dude from the interwebs.

  • @MrRajguitar your shoulder would be the first that is not under tension when your arm is raised in general, try extending your arm without any weight and your shoulder is under tension regardless of your triceps, where do you get that "bodybuider wisdom" i.e. bullshit, from?

  • why is he never extending his arms fully, never heard of full range of motion?

  • @MutsuKazuma because you want to keep the tension on the delts, going all the way up and locking your elbows takes the tension off

  • @MutsuKazuma - Extending to lockout (full range of motion) will move the pressure from your shoulders and triceps to your joints instead. Done enough might result in injuries.

  • Hmm, thats not how I do de-Awenld. But I'm not knocking it.

  • he's like doing it backwards, but yeah close enough

  • i do it differently but its whatever works for you.

  • Not quite the right way to do the arnold press but close

  • hahaha reetard is doing it backwoods

  • Everyone sayin he's is doing it wrong. Can anyone point me in the directin of a video where someone is doing it right? There does not seem to be one of Arnold doing it on here.

  • @Garfeh26 To do it, you start with palms facing you. You then turn the 'bells throughout the ENTIRE range of motion.

  • @steroidzr4loserz yes you are totally right, that's what i was about to say, allot of people do this exr wrong you must start with dumbbells infront of your chest with the dumbbells in the same level with your shoulders then you go to shoulder press position with rotating the dumbbells then you do the shoulder press then you come slow,y down with rotating back the dumbbells to the starting position

  • Way down is different to way up for some reason. Should be rotating the arms after the weights have come down a bit not straight away

  • @ollieee12321 Does this hit all three heads?

  • the arndold press: ur doin it wrong ;>

  • Ur doing it wronge its the complete opposite!

  • Twist on the way up as well as down. This puts more work onto the front deltoid, the point of this exercise

  • Some of the questions/comments posted here are so stupid, they just don't deserve a straightforward remark, and if you are literally that stupid, then bodybuilding isn't your sport. Just trying to save you people from having more weights crashing on your head is all. Good day.

  • 1:05

  • dammit im doing these wrong .

  • Hes at it diont listen to him.

  • wow arnold had even invented his own exercise,is it true that have the best genes in the world?someone pls?

  • @GsxRaider Arnold had the best genes in the world? It depends what you mean.

  • effective

  • is this shit most likely gona get u more cut,i wanna get buffer

  • Excellent form. Excellent videos.

  • This exercise is similar to "lento scott". Ok, really "lento scott" is the italian name for the exercise that takes the Larry Scott name.

  • lol

  • 1:05 I love how he tries to talk like arnold. then quietly giggles at himself.

  • One thing you want to do while doing this is to keep those elbows up when you come down.

  • Have you seen Alfonso Ribeiro (the actor called Carlton in Prince of Bel Air) now?

He's looking more similar to Uncle Phil, not like this guy!!

  • hes doing it in reverse so its not arnold press! plus those dumbells are for girls lol

  • hey carlton wassap ma niggaaa!

  • Look how he says te arnold in the end ahaha so funny xD

  • @themuscleguy rofl!

  • when you poste excersices you should know how to do it ;) But your body is still good traint! Sorry for my bad englisch i´m from geeermaanyy =D

  • this guy is doing the exercise wrong....just sayin

  • does this exercise only target the anterior and medial deltoids? or the posterior as well?

  • Your doing them wrong bud

  • Carlton is or was already buff, just check an episode of fresh prince

  • Will now u gonna make fun of Carlton?!?!

  • "and that's how you do, De-arnawlt" lol what? why did he sound like that at the end? XD

  • @DJOpaixMusic hahaha sounds like indian accent

  • @DJOpaixMusic LOL IRL

  • @DJOpaixMusic He was trying to imitate Arnold Schwarzenegger's accent. By having typed this I have become dumber.

  • @mmmmmarcus carlton has always been buff retard

  • its a dangerous exercise

  • just me or is there writting across the screen so you cant see shit ?

  • perfect arnold press!° my compliments!

  • he is doing them backwards, u twist on the way up and go straight down

  • Comment removed

  • hahah those dumbbells are Walmart brand.....i have those exact ones....i always thought brands dnt matter to build muscle....I got a friend who makes fun of me for using cheap weight sets.

  • @sjstrictlykings do brands matter?

  • @jeffersong808 Yeah bro. If you pay $10 for 100lbs and someone else pays $100 for 100lbs, clearly the person who paid $100 is going to get better gains. Duh! Everyone knows that!

  • Obviously not arnold's. This is a seated dumbbell military press with rotating negative movement. Just another weird variaton.

  • nice videos!

  • is that carlton hey man how you been?

  • That's a backwards Arnold Press!

  • that isnt the arnold press

  • in the hood we call these military presses

  • try it with some weight, Carlton

  • Wow he really does look like Carlton. An extremely buff Carlton.

  • you're explaining like people watching this are retards....

  • @cyco2kill

    and you're implying they're not?

    expert village... come on :D

  • very defined body !!!...

  • @niggazbeatdown1 Dude, that proves nothing. The date is August 07, 2008 meaning the videos were uploaded that day. That doesn't necessarily mean that they were also MADE that day. Haha, you're one stupid fuck.

  • @niggazbeatdown1 You ignorant fuck! There's no way that he did all these videos in ONE day! I love these videos, they are very helpful. What i said back then was only a joke so leave me the FUCK alone!

  • Is this the only shirt the guy owns?

  • @Kevinthejesuspuncher If you have ever been to gym you would know some people use the same clothes everytime they train because they're comfortable while wearing them. After training you just wash the clothes and they're ready for next days training. That simple.

  • @tehl33t666 That's true but if you're going to make video you might want to change it up... just saying. lol

  • @Kevinthejesuspuncher Man that was dead funny. hahahahahaha. but tehl33t666 is correct bro.

  • expert village is gay , why put writiing in front of him ?

  • I try to do about 3 sets of 10 of this exercise, but every-time i try a heavier weight, i stop at around rep 6 to 7 NOT because my shoulders feel tired, but rather because my PALMS hurt like HELL..... (as in the inside of my palm..)

anyone has ANY advise on why this is happening? and maybe how to stop it from happening??

  • @sarithp2 brah, use gloves or atleast the foam. happens to me too, though sometimes at higher weights, even gloves wont do shit.

  • look at instructional fitness' version, it's better

  • god damn... he looks freakin...buff. O_O wish i could get that buff. Well, i can, and so can anybody else if they put their minds to it.

The problem with getting buff, in my opinion, is that the muscles you get are permanent and can feel like 'pads' on your body if you get a lot of it. And plus, more muscle doesn't really mean more strength. But how can I build strength instead of muscle?....

  • @OyonTheAdept low weight high reps.

  • @maxdragonn If that's true, then, thanks!

  • @OyonTheAdept yea dude, when you start getting cut, cause that's generaly what happens just stop for a month and then get back on it. unless you want to get cut...

  • @maxdragonn So, To gain strength instead of muscle, I workout for a week with 1-3 pound dumbbells with like 7 reps and then take a break for a month? After the month , I get back to it? But wouldn't that still create muscle instead of strength? haha sorry if i'm talking too much.

  • @OyonTheAdept ahahaha! no no no, You would work out with like 8 lbs dumbells and do like 25 reps and 3 sets of whatever DB bench or flys, or whatever for whatever muscle group... and you don't just stop after that one workout. You stop whenever you start to see your arms getting cut. I mean you said you didn't want all the bulk, I'm assuming that you want to be strong but don't want to feel slower or weighed down right? well if that's the case you can either do a low amount of weight(8-12lbs)

  • @OyonTheAdept and a high amount of reps (anywhere from 25-150) I'm in MMA and there are lots of times where they want you to cut weight or gain weight. when we are told to gain weight we do a certain work out that involves around 80-95% or our max for, that increasingly gets heaver that our original max. but when we are suppose to cut that weight we do lots of light weight work outs, and an unimaginable amount of running... Everyone is different and their bodies take things different ways.

  • @OyonTheAdept so yea sorry for for those long messages lol, if you need anymore help just pm me.

  • @maxdragonn Oh! I get it now... Dude, Thanks soo much! I'm gonna try this out. The way you explained how to build strength actually makes sense. Thank you, dude!

  • @OyonTheAdept lol, no problem!

  • lol nah, this is wrong. you come down, then bring it in, then go up. your not supposed to bring it in on the way down dude.

  • hmm I dont like this exercise..and this is not totally an Arnold press .........I would rather do front shoulder press and classic dumbbell press ..or military press.........this is better for beginners

  • I think its the other way around but whatever...lol..

  • The arnold ?????????? It's called Arnold dumbbell press

  • @NTRSANDMAN its different. its got rotations

  • Thank You Very Much For This Great Clip!

  • I'd seen this workout on manual

  • This is not the Arnold press but some weird variation

  • so many ways to do these goddam arnies... some people never spread their elbows and just do twisting motion both at the top and bottom... some spread their elabows on the way down. while some, like you, spread their elbows on their way up... whats the better way to do it (((

  • fucking goddamn youtube commercials I FUCKING HATE THEM!!!!!!

  • The Arnold xD

  • this adds in shoulder lateral raises into a regular shoulder press. good functional workout

  • how does this build muscle differently from the shoulder press?

  • I tried to press Arnold, but he was to heavy to lift....

  • haha funny

  • is it good or bad for u to twist your wrist when when doing dumbell workouts? pls advise me..

  • What the hell are you trying to prove? and if I'm lifting weight what the hell do you think I'm trying to do?

  • @mambav hes trying to say ur pathetic, caring about what other people think, why would u be embarrassed ?

  • this guy has set up something good, but the only problem is that he doesn't say what it will work on if we were to do these exercises, like wolrking on biceps triceps, you wouldn't know what you have actually done, that would result in you ending up injuring yourself because you might be doing these exercises and other that you know and you would be putting too much preassure on a certain part of the body. so i suggest that this guy say what this exercise will do your body.

  • its kind of obvious...its a shoulder press...

  • And thats how you do De Arnald lol

All of your videos are Cool

  • tiger 496, your neck hurts probablly because u look up at the ceiling when u lift the weights, which is incorrect because it puts pressure on the neck and spine. always keep looking forward, it would be best to use a mirror

  • hmh i think u have 2 bang ur head more and go 2 metalcore / hardcore concerts xD

  • but only the face^^

  • He looks like Carlton

  • @tumaccia hahahahahaahhhahahahahaha

  • @tumaccia lol yea he does

  • @tumaccia not all black people look a like...

  • @tumaccia He looks like Carlton on steroids. Not insinuating that he takes steroids or other forms of performance enhancing drugs. But he is nevertheless, a physically imposing man.

  • That weight looks to heavy

  • Oh snap, carlton got buff!

  • @mmmmmarcus why dont you spit the dick out of your ass and try to do the same..ohh snap

  • @HellsFire1973 You are, and always will be a total piece of retarded shit. Welcome to no thumbs-up hell.

  • @mmmmmarcus Who's Carlton?

  • @MrCupid19921 the nerdy guy from fresh prince of bel air.

  • sweet thx

  • Excellent exercise !!!

  • no its a great exercise

  • anyone know what the purpose of this is? i'm assuming shoulders but what purpose does turning your arms inward prove?

  • front delt. rotator. start w low weight high rep. you'll def feel it

  • The turning of the arms while completing the rep

makes this a compound exercise. Otherwise it would remain an isolation exercise, which would only be one movement. Example:dumbbell curls is isolation exercise for biceps.Pull ups are compound.

  • incorrect, a shoulder press is always a compound exercise because it involves extension of two joints (the shoulders and elbows).

  • muscle confusion to get greater gains

  • i see any doing this at the gym i call them a show off in my head

  • is this guy a latin dude? cus he's got the accent you know tha latin sort of accent at the end lol

  • sorry but this dude looks like ricardo arona

  • haha yea he does but a bit blacker and hencher!

  • ARNOLD FUCKING SCHWARZENEGGER

  • not correct, unless you want to f-up your shoulders

  • look its ron artest

  • guy looks nothing like ron artest. (go lakers)

  • just a bit. haha

  • nope not at all. nick van exel though... maybe

  • this is a good way of doing arnold press, because it also works the trapezius muscle as you go down.

  • and destroys your soldiers.

  • I assume you mean shoulders(moron) and no it doesn't.

  • ExpertVillage

Jack of all trades, master of jack shit.

  • this is incorrect.....

  • This is, of course, NOT the Arnold Press... But I'm not suprised....

  • your supposed to do the turn on the way up, not on the way down, cock.

  • this guy doesnt even say what this exercise works out

  • ya he did in the beg. SHOULDERS

  • his starting grip is all that changes this from a shoulder press. arnold presses are kept forward and inside in order to recruit the lats. the whole point is to turn shoulder presses into a compound exercise. this guy sucks.

  • wrong

  • uhhhhh thats not how you do the arnold presses!

  • this idiot is doing it wrong.

  • The best exercise to maintain great shoulders for mass. Front raises, side delt raises, rear delts, and milatary press, shrugs. For mass 3-4 with 8-10 reps if you are looking to tone light weight BUT 15-20 reps.

The problem is this excrise is NOT good for your wrist. This excersie will end up working the wrong part of your body. Stick to the NORMAL dumbell press no twisting

  • which muscle group aside from the shoulders are also affected by this?

  • Comment removed

  • ...Special thanks goes out to Kmart and Mcgregor for supplying the dumbbells and bench

  • You're doing it wrong

  • How are you going to say hes doing it wrong? Where is YOUR instructional video? HELLO DO YOU SEE HIS BODY?????/MUSCLE SYNERGY. You sir, are an idiot.

  • I'm sorry, I haven't made a video yet. Would you like me to? He's doing it wrong, period. You have a picture up; and it is painfully obvious you are not a "probodyb" in any sense of the word. You have NO lats, NO lower back, and weak arms. If you want to learn how to do Arnold Presses correctly than do what I did and buy Arnold's encyclopedia, and take his word for it if you won't take mine. You do NOT "twist it" on the way down.

  • ya thats a great buy if u wanna be serious about getting bigger, i got it

  • Also, Arnold (in case you have read only his book) followed and trained in strict H.I.T. format developed, introduced, and revolutionized by Arthur Jones in 1970. Now if your hearing aid is not turned up, its suggested you correct that device as He clearly states H.I.T. technique in the video. What he is doing by "twisting" is training smaller, secondary muscles, which is what the Arnold Press is about. Type in Arnold Press and watch the man himself "twist"

  • stfu il school u neday. and a pro would have pics. NOOBIE

  • encore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Are you kidding me? first of all, that pic is blurry. second, I AM AN ELITE PERSONAL FITNESS TRAINER AND currently instruct at the YMCA. I know what I am talking about and doing. Now if u are being an ego-statistical ass and referencing to him saying "twist" instead of lack of pronation, you sir are an idiot. Leave this to us professionals. Do not fret we will teach you, its what we do.

  • Wow, teaching at the YMCA. Gjdm. I'm sorry, I only compete. I really hope you can teach me something, I'm guessing you're what, 5'10, 160? 12%? Strong stats.

  • and 15 inch arms...not bad for being 19.

  • i got 11 1/2 inch arms and im only 13. is that good for some one who jus started working out?

  • hey kid dont do weightlifting when you are 13 much better to start in 17.beacause you gonna have permoment joint pain.yo better swimming than weightlifting

  • thats funny because i started weightlifting when i was young and have no joint pain. where did you get your facts from?

  • I got 17 inch arms and i'm only 15

  • That is fantastic! Genetics and proper training play a major roll.
