  • miss dime heaps! love this vid WAY tooooo much tho!! :P

still remember the day the world lost dime.. drank so much beer and listened to dime (Pantera) all day... also got super HIGH!! much love to Dime and all his family!

    RESPECT!!!

  • that is not dime bag

  • @amphaau HAHAHAHA, YOU DONT KNOW NOTHING MAN...

  • oh how i hate shredding.

  • Like a Jake E. Lee =)

  • @insidegoodoutsidebad

I mean the way he dressed and hair =)

  • @CthuluHasChannel haber pinche extraño hijo de mi verga! leran metal??? lol! I am the best guitar player in my city! sherd player! you compare with me, only you are a poor shit!

  • dam dam i wish i had his talent

  • love the hair

  • lets be honest, this solo was crap. still, i will be forever loving Dimebag

  • @Olpaj how is this solo crap? It sounds awesome, some randy rhoads an quiet riot stuff, he plays it perfect.

  • i love dimebag he is the man god bless his soul mate much love to vinnie paul and family

    bodean

  • kinda looks like jake e lee

  • DID YOU SEE THE P. O. D

  • spinal tap moment at 3:17

  • que van helen este we se l.a quema

  • que diferente se miraba

  • 2:49 eddie van halen anyone!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @dimebag9449 are you retarded? this is an improv that would be literally impossible to tab out by anyone

  • @gh0stmasta itd be tough and probably a pain in the ass but not impossible, plenty of dudes can transcribe tunes by ear, and if there's video of it to go with the audio it makes it a little less tough....I mean it might not be *exactly* perfect but it could be done, for example off the top of my head check out halcyon1871's youtube channel, he transcribes the "Terran Theme" from Starcraft just from listening to it then plays a nasty version of it check it out if your interested

  • You can really hear the Eddie Van Halen influence. But he's much better than Eddie.

  • this guy had more groove than a lot of bassplayers i know, including me, that is what makes his songs so GOD DAMN FUCKING AWESOME

  • Gotta Eddie kinda look to him

  • THANKS DNB FOR THIS POST,,KILLER SHIT!!

  • i never knew dimebag could shred that well. isn't it kind of funny seeing the similarities between dimebag and michael angelo batio? both were in glam metal bands, both can shred like crazy, both are legends, both are highly inventive (michael invented the double guitar and dime invented groove metal), and of course both of them play deans (although dime did switch to washburn for a moment). R.I.P. Dimebag Darell.

  • @Fluffypopcicle Dimebag > MIcheal Angeo Batio / I don't care how fucking fast he can play.

  • @Shenanigasm

dimebag is better with band work, michael is better with instrumental work. who is better is all preference, and they are both legends and both highly influential.

  • @Fluffypopcicle Dimebag was the better guitar player. He's just a better musician. You can play as fast as you want but speed isn't everything or even vitally important. What's most important in a lead guitarist is melodies and timing. Dimebag just had better phrases. Micheals okay though but if you look past his speed to what he's actually doing it's not that great. Dimebag had plenty of speed anyway and a lot more musical depth.

  • @Shenanigasm

i don't think you have looked up enough MAB or acquired a taste for shred for that matter. im not trying to argue with you, dimebag was probably the better player, but 2x again, rainforest, and other MAB songs show great phrasing. shred is a different type of soul that people who can't shred usually don't understand. shredding is an expression of freedom, no limitations. you can mix shred with any music genre and that's what makes it so great.

  • @Fluffypopcicle Um you just agreed with my only point and insulted me and the same time, nice. I like to shred just as much as the next guy but I prefer the actually musical theory part the most. I especially agree with that last point because I play classical guitar, jazz, and metal. You don't even know me man. I was just expressing my opinion.

  • @Shenanigasm

are you serious? i NEVER insulted you. on top of that i didn't agree with you. you said other than speed michael is not a good guitarist, i argued with that and note how i said PROBABLY!!! i never agreed with you. michael knows PLENTY of music theory. more than dimebag. also, learn how to organize your sentences properly. im guessing english isn't your first language.

  • @Fluffypopcicle You said I don't have a taste for shred bro, that's an insult to someone who plays 8 hours a day and lives and breathes guitar and music. Not to say that I'm a good guitarist or anything but I'm not uneducated in music. lol. I never said he wasn't GOOD but I just don't like his style as much he knows his scales and he knows how to sweep a chord. You put words in my mouth. I know he knows theory too, but I believe dimebag played with more depth. Why are you such a douche?

  • @Fluffypopcicle All I can say is MAB is a lot better than me I never said he isn't good or that he is even in the top eschelons of metal lead players. You're just attacking my english and putting words in my mouth because you have nothing better to say. You obviously don't have very good reading comprehension so you don't have room to critisize. What I meant by you agreed with my only point was you saying, "im not trying to argue with you, dimebag was probably the better player."

  • @Fluffypopcicle The fact remains, speed is not the most important aspect of MAB's playing but it is his primary focus. There's nothing wrong with that everyone is free to play as they want. I happen to like playing fast and using sweeps and I like to improvise. The reason why I feel dimebag was better is because his music has more expressional power, and his timing is better. MAB might know more theory(which I don't believe) but Dime knew how to use it better, in my honest opinion.

  • Nice!

  • fuckin mean clip $bag?i want to grow up just like you, rest in peace.htown,newzealand.hfm.

  • R.I.P Dimebag!

  • eddie?

  • Am i the only one who think it sound a little Yngwie malmsteen Influenced? sounds awesome anyways

  • Is it me, or does he look like Rembrandt from the Warriors?

  • @bloodruststaples I totally see it. Good eye. And good name.

  • wow as a randy rhoads fan i can tell dime used some of his stuff in this solo, and it still sounds really good, almost as if it was randy playing it himself

  • well if he was born in 1966 and this is 1988 how the hell is he 18???.... he would have to be 22.... i mean i know dimebag is a fucking god but am sure not even he could defeat the laws of time.... lmfao??

  • @sgtscortez from 1966 to 1988 is 18 years, you fail.

  • @chocolatesprite wow u faggot ... its a 22 year gap if he was born in 1966 and this vids showing him in 1988 , the guy who has this vid changed the name to 84 before u commented so i was right at the time ... it did say the vid was in 1988 , but after seein my comment and similar ones the guy must of recently changed the title of the vid...

  • @chocolatesprite I meant 1984 like the title says.

  • hehe....glam metal...

  • I got to see Dimebag on tour with damageplan in Halifax and later that same tour someone shot him. What a terrible loss. This guy was just incredible!

  • he's playing eruption.

  • ooOOO 1:46 he's playing BATTLE AXE offa the quiet riot album

  • Wow. I've probably watched over a thousand clips here without posting, ever. For years I thought Dime was kind of a douche because all I saw was the partying 'loser' without ever really being exposed to his music.

I've played guitar for 17 years, and always wondered how he could have won all the awards that he did. At 18, dressed in his best 'Glambag' outfit, he was better than I'll ever think of being.

A damn shame that loser took him out. A true virtuoso was lost. That pisses me off.

  • me too..

  • @solomonkagore This is a fine example to never make assumptions... im glad you came to your senses...

  • starting at 1:46 it sounds like hes playing the first couple notes to the crazy train riff.

    AMAZING solo though. RIP

  • yeah i heard the crazzy train bit to fucking epic solo.

  • This just shows how talented Dimebag was... I miss u bro' R.I.P.

  • This is badass that Dime was shredding in 1984. I was born in '84, along with Iron Maiden's Powerslave, Metallica's Ride the Lightning, and Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force! No wonder I love metal so much!

  • awesome Dimemond (dimebag and diamond together) Darrell solo

  • this is back when he was diamond darrel huh when he was all glam rock then later he went metal

  • That's my favorite Randy Rhoads solo at the beginning! Mother Earth!!!

  • THE HAIR IS CRAZY ! lol

Rock on Man ,, you will never be forgotten!

  • he started around 15 and he really loved deans and so he went into a guitar contest and that day his dad got him the cherry burst dean and he wont the other dean. He didn't like the way itlooked so he sold it and it ended up in the hands of a guy hwo did customs and so he put the dime bolt on the guitar along with the floyd rose

  • naturally gifted, fuck i wish he was still around. i actually like the glam albums as well as the post cowboys stuff. dime coulda made hip hop sound good!!

  • Dime coulda made Britney sound good !

  • i believe this is the guitar his dad gave him. the one he won was traded at first then returned to him (in some deal or something) with the famous blue lightning bolt paint job.

  • dimebag defines metal in the most amzing way.rip dimebag.

  • and that was the 80s rock club scene!

quite the transformation visually to what he was at the end.

  • woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow! that some good shit!!

  • dean guitars from beginning to end. that's awesome!! RIP Dime.

  • I think he got sponsored by Dean when he was about 15 or 16 by Dean Zelinsky himself. I know he got his first Dean guitar from a contest when he was 14 or 15 and I think he got a sponsorship shortly after that.

  • HOLY SHIT that was the best solo i have ever seen, i play guitar myself and omfg i think im just a great noob now holy shit that was AWESOME

  • he kinda looks like van halen here xD
