  • Do u still have the car

  • How fast the the initial break of the drift? and clutch kick or ebrake?

  • What size are the wheels in the video? Just like the guy below, im looking for what wheel sizes to go with on a stock sohc and to be able to spin them.

  • @350drifting The wheels are Rota Grid 16" 8" wide. on Federal 195/50/16's

  • @JaredThompson73

Ahh thanks for the reply. My gut feeling to get 16x8's was right. Can't wait to start building this little hatch up once i get some income.

  • @JaredThompson73

My dohc 93 coupe has xxr 002's with 195/50/15 rims are 15x8 0 offset good setup in my opinion on a sohc id go with 15's or 16's yes your speedo will be off and youll have smaller tires but its easier to keep the tires spinning my buddy had 255/45 on his but he had 10" wide rims.

  • @JaredThompson73 the trick was the welded diff!!! ^_^

  • How wide are your wheels? Im still rocking a stock dual cam and was curious if it would be able to spin 17x9 wheels

  • @MistahWhang The wheels are Rota Grid 16" 8" wide. on Federal 195/50/16's You should eb fine with 17's. Just keep up the momentum and you'll be fine.

  • @JaredThompson73 alright, thanks bud. i'll have to play around with it at the track.

  • nice vid man, ka24e love!

  • why not put the dohc head instead of the sohc?

  • welded diff is fun just sucks going through rear tires even on daily driving.

  • niiiice. yeah man the sohc motors have enought power. you definately dont need turbo though it would help. i slide my soch s13 hatch. even with open diff right now i still get it sideways. gona post vids soon!!!! and about to weld my diff.

  • tein coils are the shit i crashed doing 130km and they were still perfect!!!!

  • damn now idk if i should just fix my single???

i wanna get an sr but if the guy hooks me up then ill probly just get the sr

  • Have you ever tried or heard anything about the Tein Drift Coilovers? It would also be my daily driver though. I'm looking for the best driftability and rideability ratio possible. With good Height adjustment.

I'll also need a good camber adjuster

  • what gear u in?

  • I am in second gear the whole time, and full throttle about 99% of the time.. The car is now built up and turbo charged, Ill post videos next month of the ka25e turbo. *thats right ka25e, we bored out the engine to be a 2.5 liter.

  • niice, post vids.

  • :) can't wait. I just got me a clean little 89 hatch.

It's good to see what a stock ka24e can do.

  • @JaredThompson73 :O where did you get that done?

  • Nice, well keep up the good work and I hope to see more vids soon.

    ~DC~

  • Good choice in music!

So with the welded diff do you still drive the car on the street? If so is it a pain in the ass? chirping and wheel draggin? I ask because I am very close to just welding my diff but It is a daily driver as well as a weekend toy.

    ~DC~

  • Yeah, I drove the car on the street a lot with the welded diff. Its no big deal, it just slips the inside tire when you make tight turns, its not bad. Now my car is non-opped and it is track only. I have built up the KA, it is turbo and has a lot of power.

  • clean car is it bad to weld ur diff??

  • Are you kidding?? Its the best thing you can do to your 240sx. Unless you want to spend 800 bucks for a LSD.

  • no i mean it wont patentually hurt ur car, or break the welds right??

  • No, it is fine. Just make sure you have someone that is good at welding do the job and keep cool wet rags all over the diff and anywhere that is not in the way of the welding work being done. If it overheats to much, the ring and pinion backlash can change. But no dude, it is safe to do and it is cheap and a hell of a lot of fun.

  • kk cool sweet deal. thnx for the heads. :)

ill get my buddy too weld it he works with welding shit together.

  • I noticed you respond alot so I would like to ask what inspired the rally stripes?

  • I have alwasy like racing stripes and thought it would be somewhat of an original application going on a drift car. Also my helmet has tapered racing stripes on it too.

  • thats whats up right there.

  • I watched ur vids, ka24de: good drifts. that was cool when you were doing figure eights around the light posts :)

Im goin turbo ka really soon. Ill post somethin when I test it for the first time. Peace bro.

  • thanks. my 240 was the white one that was doing 8s around the polls. theres like 2 videos of 2 different 240s at the same spot haha. i was thinking turbo but after seeing your vid im just going to put some decent coilovers on and see what i can do wit it. post a vid when you get the turbo in or who knows i might catch you at thunder drift im fromt the bay area. so i been trying to get to one of the events.

  • I am rocking the single cam also my firend, how many degrees is your timing set for and does it idle well at whatever you have it at?

  • To be honest I am not even sure where it was at the time of this video. I pulled the engine recently. I bought it from a friend and drove it hard, as was, and waited till things started to break :)

  • sickness i have a ka24de going to boost it soon sick car

  • Cool man, Im hoping my single cam works out well. I just finished having the engine bored out and completely gone through. I cant wait until the project is complete.

  • Mad Skillz Man! Nice car too! How are those Megan Coilovers?

  • mad props dude!!! I have a ka24e as well, the first time i went to willow springs everyone thought i had a sr20det or something. its all about the driver. once again, you got mad skillz man!

  • Thanks bro. I am rebuilding the engine at the moment and installing a turbo. Should have more smoke and angle then... I can't wait to go to Willow Springs sometime soon. That place is the mecca of regional drifting.

  • That's excellent! Thanks again for the deal on the kart tires.

    Levi

  • great driving! great vid! i love the budget slide sleds.

  • What kind of coilovers are you on bro?

  • Megan Racing coilovers.

  • track or street?im thinking track ones for the hatch i might get. very nice car btw. well set up.

  • wow thats some sick driving bro

    all motor ka?

  • Bone stock engine and tranny. Just coilovers, aluminum subframe bushings and welded diff.

  • y did u paint the silvia grill?

  • Because it looked horrible when I bought it in rattle can flat black... What are you getting at? Is there supposed to be something special about my grill and people shouldn't paint them?? I'm just curious as to why you are asking this.

  • damn, calm down... im just not used to seeing painted silvia grills... i think a blue R32 grill will look best and give you a little more air flow, since your going turbo:)

i didnt mean anything by asking y u painted the silvia grill... 240 LOVE:)

  • Thanks man. Ill look into the R32 grill, more air flow is always good.

  • Nice zenki, nice driving.

  • love the music, 311 forever!

  • suspension mods?

  • dude my name is jared thompson too, how cool is that!!!!!!!!!

  • awesome! you have a great name man!

  • holy cow SINGLE OVER HEAD CAM

thats crazy bro, i like it, and the susepension mods make all the difference.

and your a good driver. thats for sure.

  • Thanks man, appreciate it. On that course, I could stay full throttle most of the time and just concentrate on steering. The car drives nicely.

  • Post pics of your motor!! LOL. Thats some crazy Drifting for a Stock Single Cam.

  • you have really good speed! :) very neat control!
