I'm 14 yet I listen to music like this (and rock and roll), use a typewriter, bake bread (and everything else) from scratch, home can, hunt/fish, am obsessed with Rubik's cubes, wishes to get a Model T Ford when I get a drivers licence, and love watching the Twilight Zone and other black and white movies. I do not own a phone by choice, and would way rather read a book or play a board game, and builds detailed scale models. Was I born into the wrong era?
@MrCrazyJake451 No, because today you can do all of those older/timeless things if you feel like it, and then go online and talk to people all over the world on Youtube, which you couldn't do in the fifties. What era do you want to live in anyway? Model T's, Twilight Zone and Rubiks cubes are decades apart from each other.
@assassingr7 Ah! But that is were you are wrong! Just go to youtube channel. I post tutorials on how to do all of the hobbies listed below. I have even made my onw twilight zone intro via putting objects infront of a bluescreen. In my first intro you can see my typewriter, cube collection, my pressure cooker.

@Porkchopzngravy DJs liked short songs. They could either cram in more songs to talk over or cram in more commercials. Back in the 1950s and 1960s the listener did not rate very high.
@richiem95 Yeah me 2! or at least I was told that by all my firends! I love songs from 80's until now but my real favorites are the 60s and before that.
@calijaz1 'Good on yer' I couldn't agree more. As a young at heart English lady. Thank God for You tube. Go and see Jersey Boys - it's a great blast from the past. I hope you have a great life. (Be kind)
@andreaKtijerina I will bet you that your dad will tell you, the day Kennedy was assassinated hit him (and all of us) harder even then the day the towers came down... and I think it really did. America has never been the same since that day. I was in a history class, and I bet your dad can tell you where he was too.. Blackest day in Post WW2 history, imo
From mid 50's throught mid 70's, Songs like this thrilled the hearts of the youth of America and Around the World. (Guys, too: try to be secure in your male ID). If you know this music, are from this era, may only those warm memories sweep over you. Hitting the oldies circuit with great joy. I'm dying.
Apparently, my original post went poof. At any Rate, this is just another fine song that was out there in my youth. Danced the Chalypso (Cha-Cha and Calypso) to this starting in 8th grade. The girls lined up to dance while the boys were lined up after school to beat the cxxp out of me. When they couldn't, they resorted to the fairy/queer taunts. You know the types. They couldn't handle it when I used to dance with this knock-out Student Teacher, the Swing/Lindy, to Mack the Knife.
I timed it with MS IE Sweep hand clock. 1 min 37 sec. I post this correction because I had prev posted saying 1 min 7 (or12) sec. I note that I also saw 1:50 listed somewhere. BTW, do you know/realize that the Mel's Drive-In SHOWN in A/Graffiti was NOT located in San Rafael. They used the Mother-Ship Mel's location at Mission and So. Van Ness in SF ! That was my home away from home from 1966 in my NEW '66 Vette until ... I have two original Car Hop ID window cards: Ute's and Lillian's.
@hava1948 i'm 21 and I wish i grew up in this era...besides that, girlfriend of 2 years broke up with me and dancing to this song was the last time i saw her...
