  • Reminiscing to back in the day where I would have to sneek out of my house to go to dances both parents to but to strict so i use to have a friend my best friend and he was my culprit to go the dances and meet up with my boyfriend(Steve) to enjoy all the songs and dances just loved it

  • Windstruck!

  • I love this song so much

  • I'm 14 yet I listen to music like this (and rock and roll), use a typewriter, bake bread (and everything else) from scratch, home can, hunt/fish, am obsessed with Rubik's cubes, wishes to get a Model T Ford when I get a drivers licence, and love watching the Twilight Zone and other black and white movies. I do not own a phone by choice, and would way rather read a book or play a board game, and builds detailed scale models. Was I born into the wrong era?

  • @MrCrazyJake451 you spell too well to be 14

  • @MrCrazyJake451 No, because today you can do all of those older/timeless things if you feel like it, and then go online and talk to people all over the world on Youtube, which you couldn't do in the fifties. What era do you want to live in anyway? Model T's, Twilight Zone and Rubiks cubes are decades apart from each other.

  • @MrCrazyJake451 Your not bon in the wrong era. You hunt for likes.

  • @assassingr7 Ah! But that is were you are wrong! Just go to youtube channel. I post tutorials on how to do all of the hobbies listed below. I have even made my onw twilight zone intro via putting objects infront of a bluescreen. In my first intro you can see my typewriter, cube collection, my pressure cooker.

  • Why is it so short? :(

  • @Porkchopzngravy DJs liked short songs. They could either cram in more songs to talk over or cram in more commercials. Back in the 1950s and 1960s the listener did not rate very high.

  • I was born in the wrong generation!

  • @richiem95 Why? You could have been born AND died before this song was ever released. Think what you would have missed.

  • @richiem95 You couldn't type that in the 1960s ;)

  • @richiem95 Yeah me 2! or at least I was told that by all my firends! I love songs from 80's until now but my real favorites are the 60s and before that.

  • Songs like this can make me soooo releaxed...Its def not the same anymore

  • i love this song! they don't make songs like this anymore...

  • Dirty Dancing ;-P

  • brill love it

  • I don't know why but this whole music from '60s has some sadness.

  • @andreaKtijerina I will bet you that your dad will tell you, the day Kennedy was assassinated hit him (and all of us) harder even then the day the towers came down... and I think it really did. America has never been the same since that day. I was in a history class, and I bet your dad can tell you where he was too.. Blackest day in Post WW2 history, imo

  • what the hell happened to music?

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!! Yes, I heard it off of Dirty Dancing:D <3 love the movie, and the song. Both are wonderful classics that won't die.

  • I DONT EVEN WANT TO KNOW WHO LADY GAGA IS. THIS MUSIC IS MY KIND OF MUSIC. LONG THE LIVE TRUE CLASSIC ROCK AND ROLL.

  • @Classicguy66 This song is good, Lady Gaga also has good songs. Long live good music.

  • @Classicguy66 well said my friend.

  • From mid 50's throught mid 70's, Songs like this thrilled the hearts of the youth of America and Around the World. Revival of this innocent, loving music can only help all of us to get through these hard times. If this type of music is new to you, keep an open mind and it should sweep you off your feet. (Guys, too: try to be secure in your male ID). If you know this music, are from this era, may only those warm memories sweep over you. Hitting the oldies circuit with great joy. I'm dying.

  • Apparently, my original post went poof. At any Rate, this is just another fine song that was out there in my youth. Danced the Chalypso (Cha-Cha and Calypso) to this starting in 8th grade. The girls lined up to dance while the boys were lined up after school to beat the cxxp out of me. When they couldn't, they resorted to the fairy/queer taunts. You know the types. They couldn't handle it when I used to dance with this knock-out Student Teacher, the Swing/Lindy, to Mack the Knife.

  • I timed it with MS IE Sweep hand clock. 1 min 37 sec. I post this correction because I had prev posted saying 1 min 7 (or12) sec. I note that I also saw 1:50 listed somewhere. BTW, do you know/realize that the Mel's Drive-In SHOWN in A/Graffiti was NOT located in San Rafael. They used the Mother-Ship Mel's location at Mission and So. Van Ness in SF ! That was my home away from home from 1966 in my NEW '66 Vette until ... I have two original Car Hop ID window cards: Ute's and Lillian's.

  • Stay - Maurice Williams & The Zodiacs [Lancaster, South Carolina] - No.01 on 10/10/1960. 14 weeks Top 40 - "Their first and biggest record zoomed to number one on the strength of some incredible R&B falsetto singing. One of their BEST and my favorites." - The Doo Wop Box [Disc 4].

  • i have yet to watch or see or hear anything that doesn't support my romanticism of the 50/60's. Why can't we even try to bring them back?

  • @EmpEli I agree with you but I think that as time passed, the world has become more cynical, selfish, superficial and automated. Also, the idea of "having fun" for the younger generation is getting drunk, texting, casual sex, etc. Innocence has been lost. I do not like the present state of the world.

  • @gal80s I so agree with you!

  • @8MinutesToSunrise Thank you friend! Cheers!

  • 12 people couldnt stay a little bit longer

  • 1950's and 1960's were America's best decades. The music, the cars,

    Mo, aged 64

  • @mzbarnes1978 Don't make us depressed please, we already know we missed the best decades PFFFF. We're stuck in this shitty world with worthless music and a generation coming of fools. :(

  • Everybody tells me that im weird listening oldies music, that i have to be modern meanwhile the modern dudes use Latex and chicks use Kind of lot of Make Up with SHINING Colors listening a boy that sound like a girl and a man dressed as a women (BIEBER/GAGA)......and they call me WEIRD!

  • @pagliaccinodlemantra i totally agree. the modern "music" if u can call it music is so trash sounding and so perverted that i can't stand listening to it. heck even 80's music sounds better than the trash they play on the radio today. lol

  • @zac613 your grandma probably thought THIS was trashy.

  • @filthdollsynod actually no she loveed this song and she always have loved this song. she loved the sound of 60's music. but sadly she has passed away.

"music" these days isn't music!! the ppl, the love, america in general was so different back then and yes thank God for progress these day but i just wish the attitude, the mind set, the values and virtues of us ppl today were as they were back then!!

for ever live this music!! :)
