@chezkimo The first four seconds allude to the end of the game. The creature turning the valve is known as Valtiel, the two pair of legs are unidentified.

Well, I played SH2, 3, 4 and 5, and I think 3 was the best of them - in game and story. I can't explain why everyone likes SH2 the most.

It's most likely because of how much it delved into human psychology, how much it made people think (mostly about what was going on in James's head for things to physically manifest the way they did). Everything in the game had a strong meaning to it. Even the character's feelings were strong. Put simply, SH2 really messed with people's heads with its physical representation of thoughts and feelings, even those hidden so deep that the person with them doesn't even know they exist.

I'd like to think that's why people think SH2 is the best of series, but I fear most people don't get the psychological aspect of it and go with the media opinion on the series. Or maybe I'm just cynical.

I prefer 3 to 2 because I feel much more of a oneness with the character. I relate more to her because, possession aside, she's just trying to live a normal life and doesn't fully understand the interest in her from the cult. I also thought the puzzles and gameplay was more entertaining.

From what I understand, people seem to think SH2 was a gift from the heavens. It was an outstanding game but 3 gets very overlooked and even 1 does to an extent. I don't have a problem with people disagree with me on it, I can totally see why, but once I was talking to someone and it went:

"Yeah, I'd say Silent Hill 3 is my favourite game of al time."

"I thought SH2 was much better."

"Really, why?"

"Oh, it just is."

That kind of thing pisses me off.

Wow, that person really is an idiot (my apologies if it's a friend of yours). I like SH2 the most, but I can actually name why, instead of, "Oh, it just is." That pisses me off, too, because it feels like they don't really care.

I do love SH3 though, don't get me wrong. It's my 2nd fave easily (along w/SH itself; it's a classic). Heather=best SH main character. I'm happy knowing that when they decided to make a heroine for 3, they made her w/such an attitude that you can't help but love her.

From what I can see, people love SH2 (im one of them mind you) because of it's powerful and emotional punch.

SH3 is an all around great story.

But I could see why some people would side more with SH2 for how unbelievably unsettling the entire game was. I was never really fearful in the entirety of SH3 but thoroughly enjoyed it nonetheless as it was an immersive story.

Alessa is the original girl; Cheryl is the good part of Alessa and then Cheryl AND Alessa died, as a result, Heather was born and was taken by the dad (Harry? I think), and so, Heather was taken into Silent Hill because of her past. mmmm maybe I´m wrong...but i think I´m right XD

YES. I've seen Silent Hill 2, and I was like, wow, that looks like Heather from SH3. Then, I made it on to the light level, (I made a point to get every song on beginner) and I saw the video, and I remembered seeing her on Night At Silent Hill 3. And, sure enough, I put the playstation in the living room, go to fungo, and the very song starts playing. I guess that answers my question. xDDDD
