  • How sad for these little babies.

  • Great thanks to dos kind n sweet keepers for caring loving n looking after dos big beautiful elephants keeping them alive healthy n happy. My heart melted when seeing the sadness n grieves in that little baby eyes.

  • @ ALL THE FUCKIN IDIOTS that say" FUCK ANIMALS" hope Satan eats you alive with his fork up your filthy ass!!!!!!

  • Does anyone know what the song/music is in this video? I've heard it before somewhere, just can't seem to pin it.

  • onions...

  • @akumie2 because humans>elephants... maybe thats why more people would care?

  • Ah, the cruelty of life..

  • PLZ WE NEED TO STOP IVORY TRADE SO DISTURBINGGGG

  • @bhowe1991 I'm under the impression that they feel more than you do....(you're a fucking idiot)

  • poor litle one how can anyone hurt such a beautiful animal she looks so sad and alone my heartt goes to all the little ellies that evil humans made orphans

  • @akumie2 wait what?

  • That was one of the saddest videos.

  • Elephants loose their will to live? Unbelievable.

  • @limbdarkening Elephants are very intelligent animals.. why do you assume that they feel no emotions?

  • @payingwithfire When the hell did I ever say that?!

  • I feel lonely and abandonned too-I wish that blonde reporter would come hold my trunk for me?

  • I want to give her a big hug. :(

  • this is so sad :( thankfully there are people out there who care! it was so cute when she was hugging the little elephant

  • I love elephants I wish I could go and comfort her myself. Thank god for the keepers.

  • I was crying when I watched this little elephant.

This pain just for ivory, just for money... :(

  • keep her will to live? yeah like she's gonna jump off a bridge or something

  • @dalexispe she can stop eating or "something"

  • @ufrao98 force feed

  • @dalexispe that won't work at all! the poor thing's been through enough already.

this is so sad, i want to go give her a hug now.

  • How can people say we come from god after watching this. We are obviously animals.

  • @ivanlagrossemoule Only the ones that allow themselves to be beasts, become beasts without morals love and compassion. You are what you believe in I think, in every way. It's really sad that these innocent elephants have to go through these things because of the lowness (or however one calls it) of mankind.

  • How cruel are we?

  • this is so sad

  • God has made us to be most sophisticated and most powerful of all species but it wasn't so we misuse our power and destroy others. We have gone against god's will by abusing our powers against eachother and other species we will undoubtedly be brutally punished by the lord when the time comes. We still got time to fix our ways and make peace with all species and lord himself.

  • Poor Lualani. Bless these people for saving the orphans and giving them a chance at a happy existence.

  • Bless you little elephant. I am glad that there are people such as Dame Daphne who has made it her life work to protect elephants. Jai jinendra.

  • That nearly made me cry a bit thats really sad ok it did make me cry its really sad

  • @TommyQ72 it's so effin sad i just can't stop the river of tears...some human beings just do NOT deserve to live, however horrible that may sound..

  • It's economics, and in the end would probably help the elephants. They want to give tribes the right to the elephants, resulting in tribes protecting their herds and keeping the group alive and effectively keeping them and their numbers stable. Although killing them is still just awful.

  • I am so sad by this video. I wish we could see a follow-up on it and I am glad that someone was able to show it love.

  • People are a plague on this planet and the earth would be a better place without us.

  • @MrFrank440 this is the cost of sentience

  • @MrFrank440 That is so true

  • Now I'm completely convinced that taking up the job of bringing in poachers was the right thing to do. You know what? I'll think I'll start doing it for free.

    Poacher arrest count: 434

  • this made me cry :(

  • @pet0skey me too. We are capable of such horrible things. Thank god there are at least some who try to fix what the others screw up.

  • This is devastating... I've nearly cried by watching this elephant's eyes. So sad...

  • awww its so cute

  • I found their website. There are so many terrible stories there. Thank god such people exist to help baby elephants.

  • I will love her and help her

  • this made me cry! I hope Lualanie has recovered now.

  • I hope the orphaned elephants do ok. Poaching should be stopped. Plenty of other ways to make money. Elephants should be protected.

  • This baby elephant is the one that tried to join a herd of elephants after she was orphaned, but the herd kept rejecting her and pushing her away. It's possible they sensed this little elephant was not friendly..or not very social. That could also be why she refuses to interact with elephants. It could be grief sure- but it's human arrogance to just assume their emotions like that.

  • @lauraleesmithagain Interesting u say that. Scientists even believe elephants have the ability to grieve the loss of loved ones. I don't think that is human arrogance.

  • @zeppelinfanatic100 And you're probably right. It's just that other people tend to project their own feelings onto animals. They swear that all animals have the same emotions that we do & they put sweaters on their dogs because they assume dogs are happier when they're treated like humans & most people don't see the arrogance in that way of thinking. Just because we feel certain things doesn't mean that every creature feels like we do.

  • @zeppelinfanatic100 Oh..& I wanted to add...the only reason some scientists believe this is because Elephants tend to loom over other elephants remains (especially the remains of those they once knew) So the assumption is that they are grieving over them, because we as humans only visit remains when we are grieving. However there could be other reasons for this as well & scientists are aware there could be another reason. Either way they are intelligent & awesome creatures.

  • @lauraleesmithagain Yeah, the sweater thing tends to irritate me as well. But actually they did "tests" on an elephant where they put a red dot on an elephants head and when the elephant looked in the mirror she would cover the red dot with her trunk, which leads them to believe that elephants have a sense of self. Something animals were never thought to possess. They are much more complex than we had ever thought. And yes, they are awesome, highly sensitive creatures.

  • The other day i saw a documentary on baby elephants who were traumatised by their memories of their family being butchered right infront of their eyes.

It had a massive impact on their life and they would get revenge on humans by killing cows and sometimes humans.

I cannot stress how much elephants are similar to humans in the way we grieve. Elephants are social animals, they need their elders to teach them how to survive and how to live.

  • man... i wanna hugg her!!!!! her story makes me cry

  • Why is it that humans get so much freedom to hunt, kill, and to treat animals so cruely? There aren't enough laws out there to protect animals enough yet.

  • People suck. I'm going to be an elephant in my next life with machine guns for legs.

  • aww I want to adopt that little elephant now

  • fuk the poachers !!! the thing is there gotta b a stop in demand for elephant's tusks. then the supply will die out -.- why rich people are so greedy and evil, their behavior is like notin' we've seen in other species, such a shame to see such devils among our kind -.-

  • watchin' Lualani at 0:42 just make me wanna cry!

    :(

  • I wish every poacher would die

  • @pkasrey i wish that humans did not exist. imagen earth without us. every part of the earth would be wild

  • @pkasrey, don't worry. One day I will go to Africa, and If I see a poacher I will shoot it down from afar!!!

  • @pkasrey I second that!

  • @pkasrey Well, I can't do much about dying, however I am constantly hired to bring certain poachers or heads of illegal animal trade. Does that help?

  • @pkasrey those fucking poachers will burn in hell ! :(

  • @pkasrey and i hope it is painful. Whoever done that will get theirs eventually

  • oh...god...why you let that baby alone??? where are you???? i'm crying now....

  • :(

    i want to adopt her.

  • maybe this elephant baby rejected other elephants because they abandoned or abused her...Ive seen that documented on film(abuse-although rare ,it was caught on film) I think its interesting that she found such peace with a human and rejected her own

  • poor lualini...

how sad, when that lady was holding her trunk it was shaking, poaching is just like murder,

if a kid watched their parents be killed i guarantee you they'd be just like this,

baby elephants are just like children,

    but poachers once were children,

it just goes to show how corrupt humans are,

    how sad.

  • that made me wanna cry...

  • Poor baby :(

  • I think it is amazing how similar the emotions of elephants are to humans ... poor baby... :(

  • I would love to beat the shit out of these poachers and set them on fire.

  • I would help you to

  • that's sad man

  • Thanks Daphne Schelldrick:-)))

  • Devastating.

  • My heart just breaks to pieces when I look in her eyes and see her sadness. I wish I could be there to give love and hold her tight. What a sweetheart elephant she is XXOO

  • Damn that's sad as hell...

  • poor baby. Us as humans can relate to this grief because our children would react in a similar manner if they lost a parent or watched them die.

  • What a beauty - I hope she recovers!

  • Oh dammit...musta got somethin in my eye..

  • my heart just broke. why do i watch these things.

  • That was the first time I shed a tear for a baby elephant.

  • i felt devastated when i heard South Africa is reconsidering allowing ivory trade, and elephant culling....

how can they justify killing animals as intelligent and emotional as these? it would be as cruel as killing humans

  • @swarooptheone that is very sad indeed,

  • @swarooptheone You're very very right, so true!!!!!!!

  • @swarooptheone Zumindest gibt es noch in Afrika einen natürlichen Lebensraum für Tiere. Ihr Amerikaner seid sowieso gut darin andere zu verurteilen und über eures hinwegzusehen

  • @swarooptheone

Povety makes people do bad, bad things. To solve the poaching problem, stability must come to the country.

  • @swarooptheone I disagree.. There is some really dumb humans.. A lot of elephants are smarter..

  • @swarooptheone it would be even more crual than killing humans. elephants cannot defend themselves or fight back against men with guns and machetes. they cannot shoot back, or take the machete away from the wielder.

  • @swarooptheone never stopped us from killing humans. Why would elephants be any different. We kill and destroy everything we touch.

  • @swarooptheone but dumb animal we can kill? u retarded piece of shit.

  • @swarooptheone I completely agree with you. How could anyone one kill such an animal? HOWEVER, what justifies killing this animal over a pig or chicken or cow? Do you know a pig is just as smart if not smarter than a dog? Not trying to be harsh with you but alot of people do not know this :)

"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." -Gandhi

  • does any one know what happened to this little one?

  • Yes...just follow the BBC series on the baby elephants and you will see. There is a happy ending!

  • Search " Lualani the elephant," and you will see the continuation of this video to see what happens to her.

  • thanks heaps :D

  • made me cry

  • that is so awful.

you wouldn't realise how hurt an animal can get. its real bad

  • That made me cry a little... when that woman was hugging Lualani.

  • she dose she becomes the mini matrearc

  • what a sad story. i hope the little elephant gets better.
