King Robert really is a tragic character, he was a mighty warrior and obsessed with Lyanna and depressed. The crown really is a burden, and despite material things, the rich and noble suffer emotionally and bodily as much as the poor peasants in this brutal environment.

He certainly isn't, and as I recall he doesn't have a beard in the the series...Apart from the beard he isn't as handsome and charismatic as in the books. They've really done very poor job when it comes to Renly's character...

Yeah Renly is repeatedly referred to as the spitting image of Robert when he won the throne (but with none of the battle skills), but Robert was "muscled like a maiden's fantasy". Renly on here looks about 5' tall and 95 pounds lol.

@coltaine779 Yes I admited I was nitpicking in the post lol. Looks are kinda important in this story. The whole mystery of the first book is solved with eye color and hair color. I'm sure he's great, he's definitely attractive enough to be Renly. He's a copy of Robert but with all the markings of youth, plus his preferences are referenced in his clothing/grooming style. But I guess they just came right out and made a Renly/Loras Bedroom scene, so maybe they don;t need to hint so much.

The thing with renly (as regards of looks, haven't seen them acting quite yet), is that they tried to make the actor as simillar to Robert as possible... All in all, I think this series will be EPIC.

Darn I wanna see Stannis, he's such a major player, even at this point! I know they can;t reshoot it now, but seriously next season, have Renly grow out the hair a bit and shave his face. Just have him attribute it to Loras suggesting it might make him look more royal. I mean I don't wanna knitpick but near everyone else is SPOT ON. Jofferey looks thoroughly petulant; I thought Tommen would be a bit fatter. Lena seems to bring more of a human quality to Cersei in what we've seen so far.
