  • deadliest art no doubt !

  • this is a lovely style just like wing chun :)

  • Mae Mai Muay Thai makes ufc and mma look like nubs

  • @2:23 stfu

  • Man , i must learn that MT style .

  • Not to sound stupid, but please can someone explain the difference between this and muay boran? thanks :)

  • @clapla to answer that I need pages ..Let's go brief Muay Chaiya is one category of Muay Boran as Muay Boran is not specified to any form , Boran = ancient So muay Boran was used in ancient era in the time of sword fight and combat or fight to survive in the field .....that includes : lying , press , catch , break , balls , eyes ,throw etc. Unlike Muay thai sport as you know thay only performs a fraction of Muay boran.

  • @clapla And Muay Chaiya derived from one of the important southern frontier province , the style of Muay Chaiya forms with perfect defending position of stance and practice together with weapons. As I have wrote ; Muay Chaiya is one branch of Ancient field combat...similarly there are still others style in north, west, east, central frontiers. Such ... Muay Korat (heavy punch) Muay Lopburi (quick Att.,Def.) Muay Tasao (left, right dodge monkey) and Muay Chaiya (best close defence.) etc

  • @aeonthailand Thank you for your insight this information is very useful. Peace

  • I have got a silly question but i hope you guys wont mind cause i need to know what song is tony jaa singing ? youtube.com/watch?v=2xIhuiQSamU it just makes my day so great

  • muay thai chaiya is best of all fight style

  • Fantastic fighting form, great to supplement or be supplemented with jujitsu and judo!

  • hard skill

  • Muay thai chaiya is an human weapon not so mutch with knivs and thing but just hand and foot

  • muay thai boran is the best fighting style

  • When I watch this video I am very humbled as a striker. These guys teach so much about fluidity and transition from standup, clinch, takedown and submission that its almost like you have to go back to the drawing room when evaluating ones perferred form and application. They strike out of their defense so well and return to it so quickly while displaying incredible core strength. I also love their Jurus or Tai Chi, Ram Muay form in the beginning. Thanks for sharing this video

  • You know everytime i see this video it just dissapoints me to see where the art has gone, with rules for business and entertainment. Which is why now it's hard to find real masters that will teach you these moves. Aside of non thai fighters that believe that the ring moves are better because they are more efficient when in reality they were taken off because they are deadly. Krabi Krabong is King.

  • @miamitrigueno agreed!

  • WOAH . This is exdordinary good . OMG , these is the best video i ever seen . beautiful sparring skills .

  • By the way. These two guys on this clip are not actors. it's actually the current Muay Chaiya Master (Kru) Prang and his training partner.

  • I'm Brazilian guy,I'm Jiu JItsu Fighter, but MUAY THAI is Incredible, Classic Muay thai is MARAVILHOSO Thanks for this video

  • muay thai,the danger fight,no tecqnes ,open,frm,grt fan of,muay thai,india,from italy

  • MAGNIFICENT MUAY THAI DEMO

  • Kung fu is gay

    Muay Boran is real

    Stop whining lols

  • muay thay brom

  • BUAKAW POR PRAMUK IS THE BEST!

  • @marxloherkurde62 i think Tony >Jaa is better than Buakaw

  • absolutely not! He is just an actor

  • there is no best art only what you prefer or what suits you best ,I trained in several different arts but the one I preferred was the Keysi fighting method. It's how well you adapt to the art you are training in.Buakaw is for you but it's not for everyone.

  • very good.

  • hanuman strike..great

  • There are a couple of people that teach Muay Chaiya: Kru Preang and Kru Lek. Kru Lek teaches at Baan Chang Thai in Bangkok and Kru Preang teaches at Siam Yuth Center in Bangkok. According to Kru Preang's website, he's got a program now that teaches foreigners Muay Chiaya as well as Thai weapons.

  • hmmm que deliciosos y agresivos golpes :)! esta mejor que el muay boran x)! a mi parecer. Paz

  • great video, except 1:47. i'm sorry but that series of short range hammer fists, combined with the sound effects used for the strikes.... really silly

  • Im agreed whit Nakoron24 !! I dont now evrything about my culture but I now many thing:)

  • isnt this the same thing that tony jaa learned from his master?

  • tony jaa is a noob

  • Muay Thai Chaiya. The ancient Muay that is pride of Southern Thailand

  • i know that KORAT is the one of the best county that are very good at chiya...but now...it's very hard to find real]the old age of thai boxing

  • Very nice presentation. Thanks for posting.

  • muay thai boran is the older muay thai style

its more for breaking bones / killing enemys :o)

  • what is boran meant to you? define it please.

  • its mean ancient old fashion old style the past. and y u keep asking the same question everywhere. if u hate thai so much then leave thier video..u must itch when u see a thai video. itch to come in and start shit huh. if u wanna call it kun khmer who stoping u? but u cant stop people from calling it muaythai. the world knows it as muaythai. thai had the money to promote it. they make it famouse and all sudden u khmer come out of your hiding spot and want a piece of that fame? i dont think so

  • i ask bc some people dont know that he is thai. they keep avoiding my question. im glad u know that. well ur the first one.

  • i know because i am not spoil by the western society i know everything about my culture and i speak my language 100% no english mix when i speak my language. hard to find that in some people.

  • 2:03 fucking awesome

  • awsome

  • I love Muay Thai^0^

  • the best martial art, for sure, i love it! :)

  • superb!!!

  • most deadliest martial art i've ever known.

  • Man this is BEAUTIFUL. Not only deadly, but also pure art!

I love how they climb on the opponent using him as leverage to knee/elbow the crap outta them.

  • 5 stars

  • Priceless! Of course most of these are once in a lifetime fighting/sparring moves. To actually be able to jump up the guys knee, then proceed to grab his shoulders and throw multiple knees to his chest is kind of preposterous.

  • i think if somebody can use it in a fight more power to them what works for me in a fight might not work for someone else im an amature fighter and i personnally have alot of of fights with fling knees and kicks it works for me

  • Well, one thing's for certain: you have to pretty much dedicate your life to muay thai/chaiya to get as good as these guys. I'm still working on the basics, although I would definitely use the flying elbows if they were legal in amateur.

  • i agree and i think it sucks too that you cant through elbows and your a pro you can end fights so fast with a good elbow

  • what the Filipinos dont kickbox we have our own.?

    we prefer arnis

    Stick fighting

  • yawyan pare..

  • why dont they use these chaiya fighter to go fight the damn burmans in the bare hand fights. since burman keep braging how they ko thai fighters. most thier thai fighter they ko i never even heard of

  • Muay = Art of (bare)hands fighting. This is obviously not just hands now. And Boran = Very old or long time ago, ancient. Muay Boran, therefore, = arts of fighting in the ancient time. It was borned and raised in Siam (Thai Boran). MUAY THAI, hoever, is a direct variations of Muay Boran. Therefore, people, please do not say otherwis to dis credit our Arts of Fighting. Love it and preserve it Rao Kon Thai.

  • wow nice! 100/100!

  • in ten-thousandths of a second.

Count to yourself as you watch each of the techniques demonstrated--------what is truth? Could this be the Thai version of one-step sparing?

  • Additionally, the reflexes required to defend against boxing punches, Diminish the effectiveness of some of the techniques demonstrated in this video.

If you understand the science of striking and are willing to search your hearts, you will see that I speak the truth. Just as other martial arts have grown by absorbing that which is useful, modern Mauy Thai is a blend of traditional and western arts. In the combat arts (and sports) the difference between winning and losing is often measured

  • requires lots of practice....but it is achievable....same like in wing chun or tai chi....

  • Cool video by highly skilled men!! Obviously, you must have a willing partner or be much quicker than your opponent to pull off some of the attacks demonstrated.

I believe the reason that Thais adopted Western Boxing (which some believe is English and Filipino in origin) is because it works.

By way of example, compare a traditional reverse punch to a right cross. The cross is more efficient, more powerful and leaves less of an opening.

  • But the traditional reverse punch got a better reach :)

Both strikes are usefull in their own ways

  • very nice this is what i want to train, i trian thaiboxing with a good group and teacher though still western style made for the ring, i dont want to fight in the ring, i want to learn the art of muay thai.

  • this is art of thailand fighting.but thai people not look thai we don't like art of We

people we like tewando but it is not art of we you ok.

  • COOL!!

  • no worries -

  • is it for NON- Thais? hell it used to not be for even for "ALL" Thais

  • it's ok to like keep one or two cultural secrets lol

  • Culture and race are different. Are you sure you mean "Culture" or do you just mean non Thai's?

  • These moves are Culture- not for MMA wannabes in my opinion ,or stunts in a movie- they were invented for something else. I know this is not ancient ways or something, but you used to have to be accepted to learn- not just $9.99 and theres a few thousand years of hard work lol

  • STOP TEACHING THEM

  • stop teaching these people PlEEASE

  • Kru Preang doesn't teach original Muay Thai Chaiya, Cause Traditional Chaiya has no ground work, Kru Lek Teaches traditional Muay Thai Chaiya

  • Does Kru Preang teach foreigners?

  • is muay boran and muay chaiya the same ?

  • Mauy Chaiya is the southern style of muay boran

  • chaya has a lot of takedown techniques. but i need to know the name of the style that ivols stapping on the opponets knee climing and hiting hes head with an elbow. can any body tell me?????

  • @Bl4d3Runnn3r aha ?

  • @ERIKTHECOP Muay Boran.

  • @ERIKTHECOP Actually... Taekwondo HAS a lot of Muya Thai Techniques...

  • odsca you only know your own history not the muaychaiya history..so shut the hell up!!!

  • who has the best muay thai fighters ??

  • i love muaythai.

    i hate korea.

  • type in search THE BAGAN KINGDOM burma called the khmer kingdon the bagan kingdom khmers also left many temple monuments in Burma when the khmer empire ruled over burma. and this was also around the period when Lethwie ( burma kickboxing)emerged..khmers left traits of their martial art throughout every where they ruled.muay thai and muay lao is just a later form copied from khmer martial arts also.

  • @alladin21

hahahahaah nice story lol... good fictionist

  • you all never learn!!!you must tell master kru preang where the muay thai chiya came from??

  • Fuck Cambodians!!! lol

  • wow!!!

  • nice! would have loved it more without the sound effects...

    tugshh! tsug tsug! tugshh!

  • very good technique video ;) greetz

  • The reason that I told Awesomest is"MuayThai"

    Because it's like a EVOLUTION.

    MuayThai Boran-->MuayThai Chaiya-->MuayThai

    [MuayThai is "The Ultimate"]

    Boran its mean Ancient(Thai word)

Chaiya its mean City of Thailand(in Ancient time)

MuayThai its mean (Boxing+Thai = ThaiBoxing)

  • MuayThai66DeathMetal ur a dumass boran is not a thai word, it originated in cambodia, it is even written on the cambodian walls in khmer sanskrit which is the oldest language in south east asia, this was before vietnam, laos, thais migrated from china into south east asia. this can all be seen today on the khmer temples. even the fighting art is drawn and written on the temples which predates thailand itself

  • the oldest language is sanskrit alright but it's originated frm india not cambodia.

  • MuayThai was original from THAILAND

    MuayThai had many branches too.

Such as "MuayThai Boran", "MuayThai Chaiya".

    But(for me)The Awesomest is MuayThai.

Search "BUAKAW" in YouTube. He's Thai Awesome Figther.

  • dude, Are you Drunk?

probably, Mummy and Pyramid were from Thailand too.

    Ha Ha Ha

  • lol thats cute u know history

  • Okay, I dont' agree with this point!!! It would make more sense if you said "Muay Thai" was created in Cambodia.

  • lmao, what a retard!

  • you know nothing of the art, please restrain from typing on the keyboard you keyboard warrior.

  • buakaw is a kickboxer muay thai a sport which has rules not the same as mauy boran

haha buakaw is kinda like bak cao

if u kno what im sayin

  • Muay Boran: 1.A government devised collection and configuration of various techniques from various 'old' styles of Muay Thai. It was devised just over ten years ago in order to preserve comprehensive range of strikes, grabs, presses, breaks and locks which no longer exist in modern Muay Thai curriculums. 2.Muay Boran is a term used by Thais to refer in a non-specific way to the regional styles mentioned above.

  • shutup just watch the video

  • Muay Boran means Ancient Fighting Stlye

Muay means either fighting or boxing

    Boran means ancient

  • huh? i thought people say Muay means boxing or fighting. I know boran. I just want to know if this word is same for all three language, Thai-Lao and Khmer. Would you mind clarifying for me what Muay mean? I'm still curious.

  • okay. got it. you say either. not neither. cool thing.

  • Muay Thai is really great.. Every part of our body is a deadly weapon if we use it wisely.. Those who learn Muay Thai 1st of all should have high dicipline..

  • without research or asking around, could anyone of you guys Thai folks tell me what Boran mean in Thai? I mean i heard Muy mean Boxing. That cool, but i still don't know what boran mean. Could you explain without asking other people or looking up on net?

  • muay means fighting, wrestling w/e anything that has to do with fighting lol

  • I'm so horribly mad at our ancestor!!! In fact, we have three more of Muay Boran fighting styles, but now we have only one left. How disappoint!!! Well, Muay Boran once was categorized into :

Muay Thasao (North) focus on "Agility"

Muay Korat (Eastern) focus on "Strength"

Muay Chaiya (South) focus on "Luck"

Muay Lopburi (Central) focus on "Intelligence"

  • Wrong there are 3 still left but Muay Chaiya the Martial Arts I love seems to be the most well known on the internet.I will give the list of the four Muay Boran styles and what the styles focus on other than all four focusing on defeating the oppenet or oppenets as soon as possible.

  • Seriously man?

  • Yeah seems like.

  • lol as I know, we used to have main four categories of Muay, but now the most obviously remaning one is Muay Chiya which mostly required luck and agility lol <3

  • My bad I meant 4 not 3 which would be Muay Chaiya,Muay Korat,Muay ThaSao,and Muay Lop Buri and Im not sure if it is true but I heard from a diffrent website that the techniques you see Kru Preang and his students from the video above, some of the sub techniques are not part of the Muay Chaiya style and that they are his sub techniques only but his sub techniques only are alot more risky than the rest of the offical Muay Chaiya sub techniques.

  • Yeah I know! That's why I said, it required LUCK and AGILITY!!! lol

  • Kru Preangs sub techniques need luck and of course agility or you mean all the Muay Chaiya sub techniuques need luck no matter which Kru?

  • Well seriously, I have no idea about that because I've never learnt Muay Chiya becuase, but as I see, I think it needed luck! But who knows? Maybe those people who so damn skilled could do it! But for me, I'm not that good <3

  • Actually proper set up and: agility(duh), balance, strikes at proper angle, ...etc, which are required for all martial arts.

  • Those 4 are only the variations of Muay Boran. Muay Boran is one complete martial art involving all of the following seperate forms of fighting including Chern Muay(offensive), Kon Muay(defensive), Kon Muay Kee(defensive & counter), Chap Ko(clinch/grappling), and Wiyang(throws). However, there are multiple ways of practicing those forms hence the variations.

  • mostly the stuff kru preang teaches are not all chaiya style, for instance the ground fighting(grappling). I know my history, and grappling was not part of it. Although it's not part of the chaiya system, it sure looks nice to learn it ^^ sawasdeekup

  • sawasdee*Ha....!!! lol

  • hey fighting siam im your thai friend from the last video...just wanted you to know that we have more than four muay boran styles thats are still being used and taught "only" in thailand. Even though my grandfather is from Chonburi, he knows Muay Korat from the east and manages to teach my father, and so my father passed it to me. Just because people dont hear much about other muay styles does not make it dead/gone4ever. You're partly right though :D kob koon krab

  • Wow!!! Are you f**king kidding me? I'd love to learn Muay Korat as well :P at least we, Thais, shall keep it alive forever!!!

Seriously, why your grandfather and your father didnt open the charity like Kru Preang did? It'd be so awesome since Muay Borans're way much better than Muay Thai <3

  • are you in thailand? my grandfather in thailand is old and all he like to do now is relax at his farm and take care of it :D...i luv him :D...as for my dad, he is with me in los angeles.

  • lol I'm in Toronto, Canada!!!

I just dont want to show people my real location and by the way, I'm proud to say Thailand is where I live right now <3

  • I'm so horribly mad at our ancestor!!! In fact, we have three more of Muay Boran fighting styles but now we have only one left. How disappoint!!! Muay Boran once was categorized into :

Muay Thasao ---> North, Focus on "Agility"

Muay Korat ----> Eastern, Focus on "Strength"

Muay Chaiya ---> South, Focus on "Luck"

Muay Lopburi --> Central, Focus on "Intelligence"

  • I can't help but say this: go watch Fight Science on Discovery Channel.

Though chinese Kung Fu makes one agile and speedy, it does not win Muay Thai's power and deadly blows.

  • booya!

muay thai pwns all the other martial arts asses...

and im sure a ninja guy that thinks he is cool is gonna reply on this comment

  • must learn!!!!!!!!!

  • nice moves.. but it gets really funny with the bone breaking sound fx. kreekkk? hahaha

  • JET LI IS 30 TIMES FASTER

  • then?

  • GGEEEEEIIII

  • Reminds me of Lethwae.

  • This original Muay Thai without contaminating by rules. It was used to take down all enemies. The same idea at 0:45!!! So proud of Muay Thai

  • geeiiiil!!!

  • Yikes! There moves that hit your croctch! Yikes!

  • Fuck yeah very brutal.

  • Nice Clip!!

Yeah thats hardest Muay Thai Style. I make Muay Thai to fight in the ring but Chaiya is harder than the ordinary Muay thai.

Watch My Fight "Muay Thai aachen:Lezcay first fight" and make some comments. I´m the Guy who wins ^^D

    Peace Up!

  • where can i find a muay boran -chai ya camp??

  • nice

  • Where can I get this full video from? Damn, this is tight...

  • awesome

  • omg so fucking nice

  • nice

  • Brutal.

  • that was well sequenced.
