  • most underrated 60s band, sooo good

  • These kind of harmonies reminds me of the great Californian bands like The Turtles, The Beach Boys and the Mamas and Papas.

  • they have to cut out during tony hicks solo again!

  • perfect...another song written after my name :D

my next bfs better think of this song :)

  • im sure im from the wrong era.... im 26 and wish i grew up with this music

  • @kaychikybabexo Me to dude :(

  • takes me back to my youth. nothing can beat this era.glad i was there

  • Nice song! :)

  • Great song!

  • I happen to be a Suzanne, and this, my friends, is the best my-name-song ever.

  • Nostalgia za mojím detstvom.

  • muy buena cancion

  • I love it. The Hollies didn't miss a beat when Nash left. They came out with this hit helped along by the harmonies of new guy Terry Sylvester.

  • esa bandaa tsss :)

  • I think shots like the one at 1:32 are the reason the screen enlarger

was invented! My My...that boy can play!!!

  • awesome :)

  • Who are those dislikers?? - this song is big; how can anybody not like it!!

  • I want a Suzanne!

  • what year is this??

  • @MsBexx87 the footage is from beat-club(german tv show) 1969.

  • first saw the holies live in 1977 at bradford university when i was 20. allans' microphone broke down! but he carried on regardless without a mike untill he got a replacement seen them live about 10 times live before allan clarke retired in 1999. memories that will never go away. I have all his solo albums, which demonstrate his great singing voice, but don't have the technical knowledge how to post them on you tube.

  • lincliff, you are so fortunate to have seen them in person! my fantasy! i am glad to hear you confirm how huge and popular they were, because i also read a

lot of comments that they are underrated. maybe it's just we americans who think if a band doesn't chart lots of #1's here, it doesn't matter that they are on top in the rest of the world! maybe the rrhof was shamefully slow, but the fans here LOVE the HOLLIES!

  • Great song!! I was in the ninth grade when this came out. Damn I wish I could go back and relive those years.

  • The days when music was more important than multi-million dollar video clips! Talent back then!

  • yes I too wish for some sining like theses fellas. Some times today you can not make out the words or meanings. The beat is off.Oh well.we can hope.

  • Brings back great memories of an ex-girlfriend named Suzanne many, many years ago!!!!!

  • Back again...it doesn't get any better than this!! Allan's a stunner in this video...mmmmm.

  • @Poopaloo55 Down girl, down, control yourself. I968, Wow! I remember this and the other big hits on the juke box at the same time. Barry Ryan, Eloise. Status Quo, Ice in the sun. Joe Dolan, make me an island. The beatles, hey jude/revolution. The Casuals, Jesamine. Even Mary Hopkin and those were the days. That's what the memory of a pretty girl can do for you.

  • @2001perseus Haha! Allan Clarke was my first crush and it stuck. Habits like that are hard to break!

  • @Poopaloo55 Those early ones do stick don't they! Mine was Clodagh Rodgers. It was the legs, definitely the legs.

  • @Poopaloo55 Met Allan a few years ago, poor man had a stinking cold but was still yummy! He was very sweet. Wanted to take him home & make him better!!

  • @sue2208 Oh wow...if I met him I would be so star-struck, I would turn into a total boob!! I wouldn't care if he had the plague!!!

  • @Poopaloo55 Had a bit of a thing with Barry Ryan a LONG time ago. Sadly never had a THING with Allan. But hey, one out of two aint bad!!!!!

  • old songs are always my favorite!!!i hope that singers these days will play the same kind of music as old songs!!the way they perform and the outfit,as well,is great!!

i always listen to old songs and this group of band are amazing!!!

  • this takes me back to my teens, grew up in South Africa no telly then...........

  • Wow! Real harmonizing and music with an actual beat you can follow. Those were the days......

  • I can't believe people are saying they were underrated. They were massive and had loads of hits. People absolutely loved them. I saw them two or three times and the venue was full to bursting.

  • I have their greatest hits, such an underrated band...

  • I wish I could be Suzanne, this is my favorite song ever ..... and forever!!!!!

  • What a harmony! And what memories this music brings! Unfortunately no time machines for sale to fly back ...

  • All done by lip synch. Nothing really amazing.

  • THE HOLLIE WERE AWESOME

  • This band had the best harmonies. No-one was quite like the Hollies.

  • Well, it brings one back to the Good Old Days......as I think many others here also feel

  • @onlinelondon You are correct, sir! A song like this most certainly takes one back to those good old days!

  • super band !! .... old time , guys , !!

    xx Barb from CA

  • Who are the five people that actually disliked this??? Are they all Justin Bieber fans???

  • @maximoacosta lo que aparece en pantalla no fue lo que escribi

  • The Hollies are GREAT!!

  • great stuff

  • I was born in the wrong decade!!!! This music sh#+* all over the noise they play today!

  • Butterflies in my tummy again...Every time, actually!!!!

  • nice song and the group is fantastic

  • Foxy, fabulous posting. Thanks for putting great music on show and reviving lots of terrific memories.

  • And......they look like gentlemen ......cool, cute, gentlemen!

  • Such a very fortunate band to reach the levels they did while never really writing their own songs. Just proves the superiority of the members.

  • Just not the same without the great Graham Nash, of course, but they acquit themselves well enough.

  • Brilliant harmony, and aren't they adorable? I may have said this before, but it must be repeated....Allan's a hottie....I can watch 2:00 over and over again!!!

  • @Poopaloo55 I knew you would comment on Allan again...:-) Though I think he looks much hotter singing I'm Alive - that song is just superb but this one stands strong, too.

  • @jbcranberry Right...the one where he's all sweaty and grinning with his hair curling on his collar? Lovely stuff!!

  • @Poopaloo55 Amen!

  • 60s were the best!

  • simply beautiful

  • Great song that is not remembered well enough.

  • omg i cant stop frothing over tony hicks....wow

  • @mardy68

Get in line, hon...there's a lot of us with the same problem!

  • Really amazing song! great words...and outstanding melody!

  • This song gets stuck in my head a lot. I find myself humming it all of the time. Yet, I never tire of it. It's such a great song!

  • PRECIOS CANCIÓN*

  • The hollies live forever

  • lo siento susana!!!

  • Thank you for the share James - A classic Hollies GEM !!!

  • oh what a great number !!

  • Esta es la mejor canción que la sé

  • me llega !!!!! recuerdos que no volveran

  • I just love watching Tony play

  • one of those songs i can't help singing along with, it's so catchy.

  • Still the best

  • Wow. That's why they're in the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame.

  • their psychedelic stuff is very unerepresented on you tube........i like thgat stuff the most because it's not as bubblegumy...

  • Speechless with admiration......................

  • Great tune.Bobby can play them drums

  • yeah, yeah, that's my favorite also from the Hollies! I think over of my young years and remember all old time passed away!

  • Yeah, wonder what time it will be on Fuse. I have to work the entire day/night and can't take off, but want to see it real bad (RRHOF). I hope they have it so you can view it afterwards sometime later on still. I live nearby where it will all be. Wish I could go to see it in person, but can't : ) Oh well.

  • I cannot wait to see them on RRHOF....I'm so anxious to see who will show up,...I do truly hope it is Allan, Terry, Tony, Bernie and Bobby...my very favorite lineup!!! I was reading in the US the RRHOF show will be on March 15 on the FUSE cable network.

  • Yeah... I will always love the Hollies...they were so special in my life... Alan's voice took me higher and higher,,, oh those Brit Lads .. sure had what it takes...hmmm...tks.for taking me on this ride...from Budapest

  • Beautiful Song, a Hollies Masterpiece. Written by Geoff Stephens, who also penned the very similar "A KInd Of Hush"

  • mmmmmh !!! :o)

  • This is such a cute song <3

  • you bet pop pickers

  • Not enough Tony in this video though : (

  • The gorgeousvoice and face of Allan Clarke! Beautiful....they are perfection.

  • Wow..... the Hollies.... Man.....what can you say...pure music magic...... Music legends for eternity.

  • Inconfundible estilo de esta banda, la voz inconfundible ....... hermosos recuerdos vienen a mi mente

  • Everybody remember this fantastic clip. Tks.

  • The first post Graham Nash hit, and what a winner. To bad it isn't live just them singing to the record.

  • it's fucked up that no one can play like thise anymore

  • @MegaRatpack yes i agree! music today are full of shit!

  • @MegaRatpack i can play this still even now i was a lead guitarist of that period in an all around band, most of the The Beatles, The Hollies, the animals, rolling stones etc and soloist songs like songs of Brenda, jerry Vale lewis frank sinatra etc etc ( we have a female soloist an imitator great variable voice ) bands of the 60's until 75 was great those where the great years in music, i was 6 years old when i begun to use my fathers spanish guitar ,

  • @ceboym Wasn't it nice to have songs you could figure out and play lead guitar to. You could even you could even understand the words. Not at all like this junk and buzz saw music we got today. The bands even wore clothes that looked nice and didn't have 50 straight pins in their lips and ears. Those were the good old days of rock 'n roll.

  • it s fuck t op that now one can sing lighk this now mor

  • awesome brits

  • My fave Hollies song,I so love that voice ,God bless you Allan,

  • Hollies to The Hal of Fame.

  • GREAT song.

    Great band.

The Hollies are one of the most under rated bands in history for sure.

  • Ilove the Hollies Tony Hicks is fab

  • Really? Maybe that's why The Hollies version did'nt crack the top 20 on both sides of the Atlantic.

  • I read in a book years ago that George Harrison was not pleased with their version of "If I Needed Someone".

  • george harrison hated the hollies and hated the version of if i needed someone

  • I know he did not care for their cover of his song, but how do you know he "hated the Hollies'?

  • IA plus it wasn't George who made those comments anyway it was a Beatles publicist trying to stir things up between them.

  • I love the song again and again playing .Thanks Bernie Calvert or The Hollies

  • Great video!

I just love the Hollies, though I´m only 14 years old, but I feel sad ´cos I just can´t find their albums anywhere.

  • Hi folks, I know sapphiretaurus has strong feelings about this and I'll back her up here...We admire The Hollies and The Beatles. While many of us have a preference, surely we can appreciate both without a contest. They are TITANS!

  • Its not so hard to think The Beatles hated The Hollies, playing and singing The Hollies are better than The Beatles

  • amazing group!!!! beautiful memories

  • Thanks for posting this...it's a gem. We often see Allan(xx) and Tony sharing a secret smile like this....such great chemistry between them. Cute! Irresistable! Love you guys!

  • That is Bernie Calvert, not Graham. You know that Graham is gone because Terry Sylvester, who replaced him, is on the left of Allan.

  • Nice voice !! I love this song even now .

  • OMG!!!<3 wow! just love it!:-)

  • one of the great 60's bands

they come to the Netherlands at january 26

in Emmen and i'll be there

  • Thanks for posting--I don't get tired of this song --makes my day! and my name is not suzanne - wish it were :)

  • beat club rocks

does anyone have the fortunes the idol

  • This is wonderful! My name is Suzanne, yet I never even knew this song existed! I love The Hollies so it's great that they have a song with my name in it. Thanks so much!

  • This song is so good it makes me love all girls named Suzanne.

  • One of my best friends is named Susanne (no "z") and this song reminds me of her, too! I haven't shown this to her, though. I should!

  • Sapphire, we've spoken somewhere else recently but I don't know where. On another Hollies posting? (Wait, I just remembered: we're traveling back to the magical spring of 1969 together, right?) Also, are you any relation to teddibearsapphire?

  • 57, yes we did speak on another "Sorry Suzanne" video. No, I don't know who teddibearsapphire is. Thanks for writing!

  • The Hollies rock! Thanks for posting!
