  • There's another dramatic helicopter accident that you can see by clicking on "EntertainMeThai" immediately below then navigate to "Spectacular Helicopter Accident-Italian Army Agusta NH-90 Hits Water of Lake Bracciano" & click on it. Also at that site, click on "Landing Accident-Rarely Seen Bouncing or Porpoising" to see an unusual fixed-wing a/c accident.

  • I know right..

  • why did he move the camera in the best part

  • errrr, steel blades?

  • I love videos like this. As soon as the action starts happening the camerman has a seizure and starts breakdancing.

  • @symph0nyofblase That's because the blades have detached and are flying towards him, do you expect him not to duck?

  • @blueb0g Yes, yes I do. I expect him to risk his life, and possibly die, in order to entertain me.

  • yellow and then it turned black so black and yellow, black and yellow can't see shiiiit

  • Change the title to " after chopper crashes immediately film the ground, your shoes, and swing the camera in different directions

  • I see no quarry

  • Change The title (Helicopter Mil Mi-17 Crash into River)

  • I'll bet there was a woman driving that thing. They never pay attention.

  • In Soviet Russia, helicopter crashes you!

  • hahahahahaha sone idioten

  • heh yellow sub marines :D

  • I tought this was mw2 :D

  • ure such a belend

  • thanks for missing the actual crash.

  • great u turned the camera all over the place

  • Something incredible is happening, Film the ground!

  • spectacular camera work...!

  • Was that an MI-17?

  • Do people actually know that the blades on a helicopter are not as sturdy as they look? As soon as one of those blades comes into contact with any foreign object, they split off in all directions....Tell me people...If someone dropped a live grenade...you're telling me that human nature tells you to continue filming with your head up like a meerkat? There are pieces of shrapnel flying thru the air, slicing like a hot knife through butter...dont be stupid...you would duck, life over camera.

  • what a stupid camera man

  • ouch

  • Keep the (dis)like bar even!

  • Russian engineering works for YOU!

  • how in hell there are such stupid guys with a cámera that have the chance to record a real crash, and at the moment of the event they lower it down and miss the accident like this one. you idiot

  • i love how nobody cares about the people but calling the camera man a pussie but no its ok if the people are hurt its all about the fucking crash people grow up

  • Nice looking grass.

  • learn to hold the fucking camera right.

  • pussy ass camera man... "but the blades become detached" <--- in a pussy voice

  • Where is Quarry?

  • stupid camera man

  • what rotor did it lose prob. one of its main rotors because no spinning going on in that crash

  • He would've landed on land but some jackass was in the way...

  • why couldent he just pull the throttle easy enough

  • some people just want spring break so badly lol

  • so its a yellow submarine now?

  • fail

  • Dodging flying copter blades good idea. Posting the vid of your missed shot, bad idea

  • felt like going for a swim?

  • Nice footage.

But as a former USCG SAR Aircrewman with many hours in the HH-3F twin turbine Pelican, I have to correct your caption.

Rotor blades are attached to, & are part of the rotor system linked not to a motor, but to a transmission. The xmission is powered by 1 or more *engines* not motors. Twin turbine engines in this case. Motors are electrically powered. That's the simplified description.

You still get a thumbs WAY up from me! You were brave just to stay behind the camera!

  • @kevjay777 Thanks for the correction. I know pretty much nothing about flying machines.

  • @getdownadam thats okay, my 8 year old son knows the difference between a motor and an engine, but even I dont correct him if he slips and says something about one or the other mistakenly...LOL oh and I dont know of any type of vehicle that has a direct connection to drive train without a transmissision, that is all common knowledge that even a little kid can comprehend or even a USCG SAR, but it is worth a good laugh seeing someone pretend to "know it all"

  • @atrain910 Diesel electric locomotives are about the only vehicle that land under the direct connection to the motor. Literally from the motors to the wheels.

  • @getdownadam, Not trying to be smart, but that correction isn't spot on. Language is an evolving thing as is engineering. A single word can have multiple meanings anyway, Design is as rigid as putty, namely if you can think of it, you can probably build it. So a class or definition of machine is also an evolving thing.

There are few things in life that have only one answer.

Considering the EXTREME danger you were in, I think you did a fantastic job. Hats off to you

  • @getdownadam, Do you know why the craft had a double engine failure?

Was it a hot day? and was it an elevated area?

  • @getdownadam, Rotors are infact not "Blades" but wings and the propper name for a Helicopter is a Rotary Wing Aircraft. Each Rotor is attached to a central Rotor Hub, where the hinges for their movement and pitch control are, this is on a shaft or mast as its called that mates to the gearbox, feed by the motor/engine/s.

This is just one design of thousands of variations. This is just the most common. During the early days there were many many competing layouts, all completly different.

  • @getdownadam, Motor Car, Motor Boat, Outboard Motor, Inboard Motor ect. None of these generaly are elctric, but they can be, its just a descriptive word and has no bearing on how it uses/converts a fuel/energy to motion. Motors, Engines are just conversion devices, in physics nothing is ever created or destroyed, it just changes form/and or gets recycled. Petroleum fuel is stored chemical energy, so is the electricity in a battery, Engines , Motors turn it to motion, releasing heat, gas.

  • @getdownadam

Classicly in aviation we would call this particular craft a twin engine machine. However, lets say we replace those turbines with Electric Motors, is it still twin engined? or twin motored! LOL ;)

These two TurboShaft Jet Engines run at around 40% efficientcy in really cold dense air, down to 30% ish at ground level. An electric Engine is 85-97% efficiant.

    Cars only aroud 15%

    Food for thought

  • @kevjay777 Hope you don't take this as me being a dick but just so you know not all motors are electrical. What defines a motor vs an engine is that engines are powered by a chemical reaction where as motors have the same "exhaust" as input. IE.. hydrolics would be a motor and so would pnumatics... You get the idea. You are basically right I'm just expanding on what you said.

  • @JcXtreme72 No I don't think you're a dick. But in this case I'm not basically right, I am right. The rotor system is powered by engines. We only have 500 characters to get our point across and with everything else I wanted to say, there was no way to give a dissertation on motors vs engines. But yes you are correct there's motors other than electrical motors. Thanks for the added info - we all benefit when we share info.

P.S. Helos are full of motors, just none that drive the rotors. ;-)

  • @kevjay777 great explanation. Right with you.

  • I wish he didn't move the camera either but the tips of those blades are moving near the speed of sound so when they detach, they will fly like missiles in every direction. It would be a lot worse than getting hit by a bullet.

  • Operator suck himself balls when heli is crashing...

  • Survivors?

  • @Kilfio you can see them climb out of the helicopter

  • @Kilfio if you watch the video you can see them jumping out of the helicopter at the end.

  • He'd be alright.

  • I would have hit the deck much sooner!!

  • Stop Moving The friken camera!

    Why???? do people that!!!!

  • @escobar12levi he was probably running towards the crash site. Duhhhh!!!

  • @0515524847

Well He HAD A GOOD SHOT NO NEED TO MOVE

OH AND HE WAS NOT RUNNING, he was just looking at the crash, thumbs up If YOU Hate People Moving the camera

  • @escobar12levi yeah i guess u are right.

  • @0515524847

    Thx

  • oooo... i hate to see such a beautiful mil mi-8 crash.

  • We All Live In A Yellow Submarine,Yellow Submarine,Crashing Towards The Sea...

    Wait Whut? Is That Possible?!?!?!

    WHUT THE FUCK BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!

    lol

  • oops

  • A lot of people say to me that " If the rotor blades hit the water, why does it just snap, like a knife or something slicing the water?" Well, a knife is steel and the chopper blade is plastic, and the heli blades work on a gyroscope. And the the blades are spinning at 125 rps (rotations pre second). One little difference with the blade SNAP,the gyroscope is thrown off, and boom a crashed heli.

  • @Ethcon1 this blades are made from aluminium not plastic ;) and not the rps are the isue... end of blade have speed slighty below sonic speed(to avoid shock vawe that apear when u moving whit speed of sound).

  • CP says to PIC: "Ok...how do we write this up? A/C experienced a hard landing? Main rotors damaged during landing? Tailboom seperated after landing?" Pick one!

  • get to da choppa!!... BOOM!

  • I hate the Idiots that spaz out and flip the camera around just as the good stuff starts

  • For all the people who say "Keep filming under any circumstances," you are stupid. its both an instinctive reaction and rather smart to either flinch or turn away when something like this happens right in front of you, especially when you aren't expecting it. Those "videographers who take bullets" are professional reporters who have practice filming under adverse conditions, not an amateur with a camera who happened to catch an event.

  • tuck and roll!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @usakicksass Ok, next time a helicopter crashes, i want to see you carry on filming as normal! Then when you are in a body-bag and all your freinds are alive cuz they ducked, i want to see you call them pussies!

  • @HMSDaring1 He was frozen stiff, SHITTING his pants, that's why he didn't run :-)

  • @usakicksass

    I hope you die.

  • @usakicksass If i ever meet you in real life and you get shot don't worry, i'll carry out my duties and film on.

  • o sie naoglądałem trawy!

  • (opens door) ELLO BOSS I LANDED! =D

  • oh from the title i thought it would be a joke and be from cod 6

  • Is it just me or does every single instance of crash, wipe out, blunder or any other accident or incident of some sort, is always immediately followed by a shitty view of the cameraman's feet or the floor/ground etc?? What the hell man....keep filming the thing you were doing the whole time. you still get to see the same thing while continuing to point the camera in the right direction!

  • @gacwalker

he didnt expect the heli to crash so of course he duck and dropped low to avoid any flying rotor blades. if you were that close and you had any brain you would do the same

  • @Deadpowerful which brings me to my second observation....why does every comment have to be followed with some level of insult to the other person. Don't get your panties all in a bunch man, I was just pointing something out and you're right I might definitely do the same thing that the cameraman did...its just annoying and frequent is all I was saying. Maybe if YOU had a brain you won't make yourself look like a grumpy stupid idiot by stating the obvious!

  • @gacwalker

i wasnt insulting you. i was just saying that anyone would do it, i would dive for the nearest bush =) sorry if i offended you

  • @Deadpowerful Now there's an honest fellow......peace bro!

  • @gacwalker =)

  • this videoe was short

  • how about helping those ppl

    instead of filming?

  • That helicopter belongs to the aviacompany UTair

  • fag

  • Destroyed Pavelow!

  • @RickTheStickman2

    this isnt a PAVE-LOW. its a russian Mil-Mi 8 helicopter.

    pAVE-LOWs are American Helicopters

  • @4everUSNavy

    I know.

  • People should be hapy he got the footage he got and i hope they were all ok

  • the bades arnt made of steel

  • "We all live in a Yellow Submarine..." Oh, wait...

  • m-8

  • This accident happened in Mpumalanga, South Africa not Kwazulu-Natal. All the crew got out of the chopper before it sank. It is thought the accident happened due to a mechanical problem.

  • 撮影者 下手くそ!!

  • brilliantest? thats the amazinest iv ever hearded in my 2 side holes in my head that i see'd with eyes

  • DAM KIDS

  • This happened on my birthday :O

  • Wow,did anybody dies, and if so i hope they were americans

  • @OneSicFuk Fuck you piece of shit. We are the only ones that will take care of your piece of shit country when you come calling and ur gonna talk shit to us??

  • @imustbebored2behere must be american . . . could'nt stop 9/11 but then the CIA did that so i suppose it don't count

  • @OneSicFuk I heard you're mom died in the crash.

  • warum hälst du nicht drauf du affe ! das beste nich gefilmt

  • when there is action dont point the camera away from it.

  • Too bad that the camera person had an epileptic seizure the same time as the crash.

  • the helicopter is swimming =D

  • helicopter wanna shower

  • камеру крепче держать надо плин...

  • Fail xd

  • Не научатся пендосы водить наши МИшки...

  • on mw2, hundreds of choppers get taken down on quarry

  • I wonder what kind of bait they were using

  • Comment removed

  • The blades aren't attached to 'the motor', they are attached to the mast, which is attached to the main transmission, which is attached to a drive shaft, which is attached to an engine ... not a motor!

  • one think is good, where are live ;)

  • fishing and helicopters defiantly don't mix

  • i bet the cameraman shit his pants

  • We all live in a yello submarine...a yellow submarine...a yellow submarine....we all live in a yellow submarine...

  • Gosh, I just hate it when that happens...

    Good Landing: Occupants walk away...

    Great landing: Aircraft is reusable...

This is a case of a good landing, ditching in water the right way. The wrong way is that the other side of the rotor disk first contacts the water which usually results in the transmission tearing through the cockpit, giving the pilot a Major headache...

  • no just shut up your giving me a headache

  • Good to see the crew bail out okay afterwards. That could've been real nasty!

  • best camera mans .. didn help.. just thinking only on theyr shit vid xD

    lol....

  • Vodka?

  • @happymana

    ye vodka means water

    on a small form

  • Пиздец!

  • Ладно хоть живые

  • id disagree. i think the helicopter blades would have sliced the camera man - like chips.

  • an landing you can walk out of it is consider an good landing

  • tell that to the owners

  • Tell that to your local FSDO and see what they say and then stand by for a ramp check.

  • If a rotor blade was to hit that camera man it would slice him up like cheese. I would have been laying on the ground too.

  • @discothief He still missed the money shot.

  • ну слова богу, выжили:)))

  • Never knew that helicopter blades are steel... maybe lawn mower..?

  • You would do the same if there was a chance of being beheaded by a chopper blade, thickshit!

  • awesome

  • @birdmanbenjibeat Yeah, indeed it would be pretty much the same thing, except for the fact that if a blade would hit him, he wouldnt be alive now....

  • I'd make love to that ground until i heard shit stop breaking and flying over my head.

    then its rescue mode.

didn't look to bad for the pilot.

  • If you are talking about Mi-8 and Mi-17. The basic difference between them is that Mi-8 has tail rotor on right and Mi-17 on left.

  • that is a dumassq12 helo

  • idiot

  • omg camera operator is dumbass

  • i wonder if that camera man got pinworms from pooping in that grass and then not wiping himself properly? Just a question on my mind sphingolipids.

  • Let me see how much better you do trying to videotape something nearby with helicopter blades detaching and flying all around you. Lets see how well you hold the camera steady then.

  • ok, it easy for me

  • Yea knowing that your that a blade could come slice through your body its easy to hold the camera

  • Easy eh? I smell a hint of bullshit

  • genious camera work right there.

  • You people are pissed at his camera work?? I would have buried myself about fifty feet deep in the soil in three seconds...watch me pretend to be a gopher!!

  • Taking a bath?

  • it was convertible helicopter. It become yellow submarine, yellow submarine...

  • made in south africa

  • is that a retired russian mi-24 ?

  • It does look like a MI-24. I believe so.

  • its not a Mi-24, they have 2 cockpits

  • Mi-8, looks alot like Mi-17 I know. Looks nothing like the Mi-24.

  • An Mi-8 is the civilian version of an Mi-17 so they will look the same.

  • Well, the Mi-17 is also know as Mi-8M but diffrent models, its not just "civilian and military" names, they are diffrent.

  • No no no, my point is they look similar because they are basically the same thing, however the Mi-8 has had things removed from it (?) to make it suitable for civilian use.

    Basically, it's a Demilitarized Mi-17.

I'm assuming this is correct, I have no idea.
