@SSony3 This song isn't from an anime, it's a cover of a song from the Touhou computer game series. Just look up Touhou gameplay on youtube and you'll get an idea as to what the game is like.

Big breasts mix well with gatekeepers. A gatekeeper guarding a mansion who tries to maintain the most authoritive personality (dominant) while still being herself (relaxed) comes across as a more Western steriotyped than Chinese. However, many people assosiate her with the country of China. I view her as a Western influence in her personality in fanworks and overconfident about her own abilites. And as to how she was brought there, unfortunatly I have no clue about that. Remillia x Meling? Nah

Also PS I think you got the title wrong; its supposed to be: 美鈴ちょっといらっしゃい (Meling's little welcome). ちょっとフラン、壊さないでよ? (Hey Flandre, don't break it ok?) is the title for their UN Owen arrange ^^;

I always loved China's theme, being ranked around 2nd-3rd favorite Touhou song for me (I think I put it in 2nd for the recent Touhou survey...)

But damn, this piano arrange may very well be one of the best I ever heard (I mostly heard "normal" piano transcriptions, but this one had the guts to change the original to make it even more gorgeous)

Now...all that's need is to learn it (but damn, I won't be able to ever play like the part at 2:20)

This arrange is frustrating me. It's hard for me to come up with a plot/scenario for some reason... It's mostly because of Meiling's profile, it actually gets in the way...She's a Chinese (complicating it even more) martial artist that somehow ended up being the gate guard of the prestigious Scarlet Devil. How did Remilia even find her in the first place, and why was Meiling hired? The song has a mysterious quality...fitting to this degree of unknown. 3:09, the grief. why? hmm... challenging.

Some makers don't fill in any background for most characters that seemed insignificant, but we fans tend to do that ourselves. She's a Chinese martial artist "youkai" to be exact. Not particularly human. And who knows why Meiling tends to gaurd the Mansion. I'm assuming because of some family ties.

Unsurprisingly there are tons of doujin out there randomly theorizing as to how Sakuya came to work for the Scarlet Devil Mansion, or her origins; I've yet to read a single one that gave any kind of background to Hong. In seriously almost every one of them, she's a comic relief character :(. No one takes China seriously.

I really love Hong. Both her stage theme and her actual theme. Her actual theme really doesn't get the love it deserves IMO. Most people I know love her stage theme more and pay no attention to her theme. I have to say that both are among my top 15. :D I also agree with you on the breasts deal. It is so beautiful and inquisitive. I can imagine a (dark?) story behind Meiling. I can imagine her being one hell of a kick ass character that feigns being weak as hell. A story tied in with the Scarlet Devil hiring her.

Seriously, consider Meiling's silly personality. Comically running from Sakuya's knifes and being pummeled by a Book-Stealing Marisa.

I find this song...unusual for some reason. This song invokes some strong emotions. I can see why it made Emiya go on a sentimental rant. hmm

@85centimeters I am somewhat new to Touhou have yet to get past the third boss of any of the games and don't know to much of the history of Touhou but looking at your idea of Meiling feigning weakness I could see a link of sorts to Dragon. I say this because on touhou wiki the dragon seems to be the god of Gensokyo and has not be seen since the speration of Gensokyo. Hong also has "dragon" written on her hat. I would go into more detail but this is just a lite guess at what could be behind Hong.

I will admit I am not always a huge fan of these pure piano remixes, but this one is really quite excellent. For some themes there just seems to be some complexity that's lost, or when they try to retain it, it gets turned into a confused mess.

But this one is beautiful in its simplicity.
