  • Awesome vortex-ring effect at the beginning! I liked being able to see it with the smoke! Thanks for posting.

  • This vid is a favorite on Zagreb

  • How much is the wingspan?

  • length:1921mm width:1570mm(without rotor)

    thank you.

  • Does the V22 have an competition? or is there other similar aircraft?

  • So, does the tilt rotor rotor tilt?

  • So no tilt rotor?

  • nice yours looks devenetly bether than mine do you use the rutbo prop principle i do but its hard to fly it reacts really fast so no mestakes when flying

  • hmzgerade ziemlich kuschelbedürftig wer möchte mit mir chilln hab auch ne web cam

  • I am almost positive this thing is gyro'd, or has a couple of FMA Co Pilots on board. Not in any way a crtique, you need that stuff to fly the plane, just like full size. Very very COOL.

  • Nice one. Best VTOL I have seen so far, keep at it you will get it.

  • i want to eat it

  • that thing SOUNDS absolutely wicked

  • YES THEY ARE

  • put some weight in the belly as low as possible at the CG and it will be more stable.

  • @deliriumknight

I would say, put more gyros.

  • Very good attempt! Very impressive!

  • well its not that easy to fly a tiltrotor you know-it-all...i'd like to see you try.

  • Actually for a tilt-rotor that's really very good. They're extremely touchy.

  • Are the props geared together?

  • use a system from eagle tree called the co-pilot maybe also put in some gyros that sould help. two at least.

  • holy crap it must be so hard to fly this thing, realy nice!

  • woow ambitious project... if you can sort out the instability problems will be a winner!!!

  • Just go buy a Fly-By-Wire kit at your local hobby store and you'll be good to go.

  • I thought something similar to JonND11 - This looks like the full-scale first flights! The real thing was scary and wobbly - I find that impressive, my hat's off to you! - truly scale flying!

  • problem is your relying on it to engineered absolutely perfectly if anything is a thousanth out its going to be a real stability issue...needs some fine tuning and balancing I think

  • yep. it has positive static margin. its difficult to obtain aerodynamic centre mathematically. needs to be done experimentally and averages taken. c of g is easy to calculate though. nice job though.

  • i'm no expert but that looked seriously unstable.

  • hehehe got to look up some tilt rotor history ;) they will have to mae the same advances that were made on the fullscale plane. non the less its impressive

  • yeah well try fling the real thing and you look at them do it! doing it by controls is extremely hard!

  • To see the best engineered RC tilt rotor see "mayoorm" `s video,

  • does this just hover?

  • Very cool. The full size V-22 had huge control issues when it was in development (just google it) with some crashes I think, so the fact that somebody got an RC model to hover is a huge accomplishment and really cool. Looking forward to seeing it transition.

  • it needs more gyros it seems

  • nkx1, you can,t reason with nilspud as he,s simply " NON COMPOS MENTOS " ! Oh buy the way asshole, if it was,nt for the U.S . your sorry ass would either be speaking German or long ago perishid in a death camp for inbread dumbasses. We,ve had proublems just like every outher country thru history, At least We,ve been never lead by inbreed ' ROYAL" toy soldiers! Have I pissed you of yet? You sure pissed us off, so piss of ya pissant!

  • i prefer electric planes although there not that powerful well some are but the petrol one give off nasty fumes and can explode

  • if one either motor is stop..

    see what happen

  • very beautiful, good job!

  • Your bus that you take to work or school makes more smog than this model.

  • Stupid hippie, come whine more when you drive an Hydrogen powered car.

  • You know, the people that call others dumb are usualy even worse themselves...

  • Hey gullible hippy at least get your bullshit propaganda straight the us EPA claims that one hours usage of a lawnmower is the same as 50 cars driving 20 miles. Though how it could conceivably be the case that 1 hour of mowing produces as much pollution as driving a car 1,000 miles (1600km) is beyond me. At 50mpg that would be 20 gallons of juice which would run a lawnmower for a lot longer than an hour.

Anyway VTOL RC planes are cool and hippys stink of vegetables.

  • It's not propoganda; the figure was obtained directly from the EPA site. Youtube doesn't allow links.

It was never asserted that less fuel was used by a lawnmower than cars- just that the pollution signature was significantly greater, which is due to modern catalytic converters and efficient fuel-injected engines.

If having a BA and MA from accredited California State universities makes me a gullible hippie, then so be it. I can't imagine what you would call yourself with no education.

  • Who can say what exact mixture causes your gullibility, hippy. Maybe it's being malnourished, that's your business. Your assumptions are ridiculous. For instance I'm from a civilised country so the odds are against you when you guess at my education.

Your refusal to mention your alma mater smells of McDonalds University with a hint of Scientology.

Anyway you're missing the point which is that you are a humourless talentless miserable shitbag and UAV's are cool.

  • No no the US is not in any way civilised, for instance there's your pathetic reactionary racism combined with gullibility. Sad little man go back to your Fox news and your ignorance. Xenu loves you ha ha ha.

  • All in the US are not racist, me included. In fact, most of the US is not racist. How would Obama get elected if most of the US were racist? You are delusional.

I do not watch Fox news, and most informed people know Fox obviously has a conservatively biased agenda associated with most content.

I do not subscribe to scientology, and am an aethiest.

Keep paling around with your fellow Provisional IRA and bigot, religious-zealot friends!

  • You are making racist remarks even as you deny being racist. Now that's bizzare nonsense even from a gullible fool who doesn't know anything. I'm tired of making exceptions for you and your third world living standards and lack of morals. Please try to be a bit more civilised as I find you and your statements disgusting. I'd pity you but you are so rude, it's almost comical.

  • Lol, and you set an exemplary standard of civility and kindness to which all people should adhere. Your assertion that I am racist is outlandish and unfounded, exactly like your previous assertion that the US in general is racist.

You calling me rude as akin to the pot calling the kettle black. Not only are you rude AND hypocritical, but uninformed. A great combination to be sure.

    You are a joke.

  • it was really cool but it would be even cooler if the engines could tilt and go into airplane flight

  • Weren't you supposed to take off & fly the damned thing? It does fly like the real version though...the vortex was keeping you from elevating any higher, just like the Marine killers. This is a different model than the Osprey? Either way, I'm sure it needs a gyro or 2. Next time, try flying the plane....in the air.

  • Go ahead be an ass, he built the thing you didn't or more likely...couldn't.

  • you dont know very much do you. the osprey killed less marines than any other marine helo, its just that they were more covered my the media. i would know i work on them, you know nothing.

  • it was flying.

  • you guys suck a child could beat you

  • care to try, then?

  • Good job! beatiful model !

Did you suckseed to do the transition to forward flight ?

  • Noisy but well worth the effort

  • Flies like the real model!!!! It's a Marine killer....:(

  • You said it. Kinda frantic, ain't it?

  • you wouldnt know

  • donde lo combraron genial

  • Woot! now that is piloting at its finest! I mean he landed it once, idled it and went for another go! I wonder if that model is capable of doing the whole rotation of the rotors bit.

  • does it transition to forward flight?

Five stars, looks as difficult as the real thing...

  • there's too much wind to fly it well. they should have picked a calmer day to fly

  • Yeah that thing looks like a Son of a bitch to fly..Way too much going on.

  • then you change the battery and its ok to fly again pal.consider the expenses of the nitro fuel and you are there--electric!!!

  • well the thing is electric once you run out of power you have to wait a long time to charge

  • No the noise and smoke is a good thing, and Nitro engines dont run out of battery after 10mins

  • one of the biggest reasons I prefer electric flight is the benefits of control and torque consistency at any RPM. Makes gyro control of models like this so much easier and much more responsive. Not to mention the noise and size issues.

  • baaaah stinking fuel engine. Take a clean one for your helis plz :P

  • thats shit

  • ur shit

  • goof

  • a hagliche gschicht:D

  • Sugoi!

  • ummm,

i hate to break up the party but i think you will find collective pitch refures to increasing the pitch of both blades equally resulting in a climb/decent, nothing to do with the cyclic...

I'm thinking of making something like this out of spair heli parts, without cyclic control, but am hoping to get into forward flight before i need it *shrugs*.

Thats not to bad, but heli's rule haha!

    -Jvc

  • Heli's FTW

  • TRANSITION TO FORWARD FLIGHT NOW

  • y would u let a little kid fly that thing 4 ???

  • incredible!!!

  • have you been brave enough to go forward yet?

    remember those are unshielded props

    very sporty flying

  • What a DICK you are! Did I spell that correctly?

  • flies better than the real thing! DOD should buy this and put GI Joes in it . . . terrorists, Axis of Evil, PRC, and the Russkies wouldn't know the difference!

  • Again, the level of ignorance presented by the average joe shmo, you, does not surprise me. Go hug a tree and let the adults take of adult business.

  • Nice, Have you seen my V-22 model? Search on RC V-22. I have gotten it into airplane mode a few times. If you would like I can help. Tom

  • >Nice,Have you seen my V-22 model?

    Of course.

  • dude its a typo.

my keyboard is too worn out for me to read the letters.

it does not take to be a rocket scientis to build an rc plane.

  • WTF has spelling got to do with engineering?

  • true.

    thanks

  • does it have a cross shaft?

    to balance rotor thrust?

  • have a cross shaft.

  • ohh.

    could i have a V22 electric plans?

i would want to build one myself using a big outrunner moter in the fuse and a single cross shaft.

what did u use for roll and pitch control in hover mode?

  • pitch and yaw contorol --> cyclic pitch control

roll contorol --> corrective pitch conttol

  • you mean "collective pitch control"

  • Amazing model. That must be really trick to fly.
