@kashbrody11 Are You Serious? Re-Watch That Match! It Wasn't Even Realistic! JBL Beat His Ass For 12 Minutes Then John Cena Did A Couple Of Moves And Won The Match.....
You gonna tell me that Cena was shoved down people's throats. This just proves what I've said all along. Cena became the top guy because the fans wanted to see him on top. It's really the fans that turned on him. I agree. He should go back to the chain gang mentality and tell those fans what he trully feels about them. Word Life! LOL
Cena was face back then, but it was somethin new, the whole arena "CENA CENA CENA" but ofc WWE made John Cena a hero for kids and not a PRO WRESTLER. The only yhing for Cena now : heel turn a motherfreaking heel turn, then a face turn and comeback as a freaking ass kicker.

This is the Cena that I want back, he didn't have so much hate on him back then, and he was pretty cool to have as WWE champ back in these times. Oh well, what's done is done, and now he's sadly become Superman Cena that gets shoved down our throats to the point where we just need a break from it and wanna see some new and fresh faces at the top.

I think spending some time in the proverbial wilderness, beltless, will be good for John Cena. Maybe he can find this version of himself again, instead of the version that has to be given a free championship by Triple H.
This is why I stopped watching Wrestling. Let's hope 2010 sees the end of Cena. CM Punk is winning over the crowd as a heel, and hopefully the Rock will finish him off completely at WM 28. This promo right here is just sad. How did we go from the Rock and Stone Cold to this?
@jfearless1 I can break down piece by piece how Cena sucks. How do you break down how Rock and Austin suck, and were a step down from Hogan and Savage? I'm actually a fan of both, and would like to hear this one.
@ScrapBrainLongIsland First and foremost I am not a cena fan but I am objective. As far as mic skills goes SC and the Rock are far superior to Cena. Austin had no actual wrestling holds when he wrestled as Austin. He had the Lou Thesz press which is just a take down. Everything else was just brawling. The Stunner is a weak finisher that doesn't do
@ScrapBrainLongIsland anything. The AA could actually hurt someone in real life. The Stunner is a super fake wrestling move only second to the Highlight Reel that MVP used to do. What other move did Austin do in the ring? This is going to hurt but Cena actually is a better wrestler than Austin whose finishing move back in WCW was the stun gun. Do you know what that was? He would pick up a guy in a bear hug and then drop them so they would fall on the top rope supposedly across their throat
@ScrapBrainLongIsland so it was like a clothesline. This supposedly knocked the guy unconscious. The only reason people liked Austin was because he was funny, drank beer, and used foul language. He basically acted like the common 18 year old college kids. Cena actually has improved in his wrestling if you watched in his last two matches with CM Punk. He has learned more escapes and has demonstrated two new submission holds ie the STF and the Crossface which Benoit used to do. Now the Rock
@ScrapBrainLongIsland only does about three moves. He has the DDT, the People's elbow, and the Rock Bottom. Sometimes he does a spine buster and on a very rare occasion he does a sharpshooter which he does terribly. Aside from that what other moves does he do? It is pretty much punch, punch, punch, kick, DDT, People's Elbow, pin. He has less wrestling ability than Cena. He is very athletic and played football in college but not a wrestler. If he weren't so good on the mic like CM Punk
@ScrapBrainLongIsland is he wouldn't be as revered. Let me give you some examples, George the Animal Steel, Andre the Giant, Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Brutus Beefcake, Undertaker. What do these guys all have in common? They were/are very popular wrestling characters who couldn't wrestle to save their lives. So how is Austin and Rock a step down from Savage and Hogan? The Rock and Austin had more L's in their column than Hogan and Savage. The only way Hogan lost in the WWE was if
@ScrapBrainLongIsland someone cheated. For example the only reason the Undertaker beat Hogan was because UT tombstoned him on a steel chair which at the time steel chairs were much more effective weapons. Nowadays getting hit with a steel chair is nothing. However, in kayfabe steel chairs back then were automatic ko's. Austin and Rock would lose to Hogan if they were all in their prime in a fair match. The Hogan character was that powerful. Savage in his prime had it all. He could take
@ScrapBrainLongIsland it to the air, he could wrestle, he was strong, he could fight. These are all qualities that Stone Cold and the Rock do not have. Cena in comparison is closer to savage and Hogan. Cena has gone on the top ropes and has been successful. He does dropkicks. He does submission holds ie STF and Crossface. He has a powermove ie AA. He can brawl and is very athletic. He is also very strong and has demonstrated lifting the Big Show and other large men. Your turn.
@jfearless1 Going to the top rope doesn't make a wrestler good. It's something almost everyone does. If we are gonna pool Rock, Cena, Savage, and Hogan together, I will say Rock was my favorite of all time, but the best wrestler, was Stone Cold before he sustained heavy injuries. The Hart family caused so many serious injuries to Austin that by 2000, all he could really do was brawl. Hogan and Rock's matches were all theatrics. Hogan's matches were very slow paced, as were Rock's. But...
@ScrapBrainLongIsland You are right. Going to the top rope doesn't make one a good wrestler. My point was that Cena was more well-rounded than other wrestlers. I can see you like Steve Austin. Let me ask you this question: Did you like him as the Ringmaster or did you start liking him when he became Stone Cold? I think you like the character of Stone Cold Steve Austin, not him per se. Personally I thought he acted like an 18 year old college punk who was just looking to
@jfearless1 four between them. Mostly Austin and the Rock punched during the matches. The Rock actually has more moves than Austin. He has the spine buster, the ddt, the peoples elbow, the rock bottom, and the sharpshooter (every once in a while). Austin has the Lou Thesz press and the stone cold stunner. So I am not a Cena fan. I just think the reasons for hating Cena are very hypocritical. You are the first that has actually given a good reason for not liking him namely his corniness.
@ScrapBrainLongIsland to get drunk and get into a fight. I never saw him as a good technical wrestler. I have been watching wrestling for over 30 years and I never saw Austin be very technical in the ring. The most technical move I have ever seen him do was the million dollar dream when he was the Ringmaster. Back in his WCW days he would do arm drags and hip tosses. When he became Austin he did a lot of punching, kicking, and stomping. This was before he ran into the Harts. His
@ScrapBrainLongIsland finishing move became the Stone Cold Stunner which in my opinion is one of the fakest wrestling moves next to the playback done by MVP. Thats not a knock on Austin. It is just a fact. The way to counter the SCS is simply to not fall on your knees. That neutralizes the move. The Stone Cold Steve Austin character basically was a rip off of the Sandman in ECW. The crowd liked SC because he swore, he gave the middle finger, and he drank beer. If he didn't do any of
@ScrapBrainLongIsland those things would people have liked him? Doubtful. People cheered him to encourage his vulgar behavior. They wanted to support his foul language and anti establishment mentality. It had nothing to do with his wrestling ability because he didn't have any. Now my favorite of all time didn't have any wrestling ability either but he was a much more powerful character in wrestling and he stood for good. That wrestler was Hulk Hogan. No one could beat Hogan fairly in his
@ScrapBrainLongIsland prime. Not even the warrior. During the Hogan/Warrior match Hogan had the Warrior pinned but the ref was knocked out. Hogan should have won that match. Anyway, every time Hogan lost he was blinded or he was tombstoned on a steel chair or a dirty ref did a fast count. It never was clean because the Hogan character was just too strong. Hogan was like Superman and Austin was like the Punisher. Sure the Punisher is cool but very mortal especially in comparison to SM.
@ScrapBrainLongIsland You are right though that Greatness is measured in various ways. I just think that the Rock and Austin took the cheap way out by being very vulgar bad ass characters. When the Rock was Rocky Maivia people chanted Rocky sucks and Die Rocky Die. Then he starts talking about pie and candy asses. Suddenly they cheer him? When Austin was the Ringmaster he was just there. No cheers. Very boring. He starts saying hell yeah and cans of whoop ass suddenly the crowd erupts.
@ScrapBrainLongIsland I am not a cena fan at all. I don't hate him. I don't like him. I try to ignore him. I agree he was better as a thug. However, when people give the reasons why they hate cena I like to point out that their reasons don't hold water because the same could be applied to wrestlers that they do like. For example, when they say he cant wrestle I point out that neither could Austin or the Rock. When they say he only has five moves I point out that Austin and Rock only have
@jfearless1 Honestly, the whole, "Cena can't wrestle" argument never flew with me. but I think someone could still be entertaining, and make a match entertaining in other ways. The Rock's feuds with HHH were exciting because with the McMahon Helmsley Faction, it was like, one man against an evil empire. The matches and story were exciting. You wanted to see the Rock overcome. And sometimes he failed. Cena on the other hand just plows through everyone like it's nothing. It gets stale real fast.
@jfearless1 Not only that, but you have other arguments about Hogan sucking like, "He never put anyone over." Um, he put lots of guys over. It's just that in the 80's wrestling wasn't what it was today. Hogan's fame outclassed everyone, and they all wanted to see him win. But he put over lots of guys, like the Undertaker, Ultimate Warrior, Goldberg, Brock Lesnar and eventually, even the Rock and later Randy Orton.
@ScrapBrainLongIsland Recently Cena has been losing a lot. He is constantly putting guys over ie the Miz, CM Punk, the Nexus, I think even Randy Orton. To me when a guy puts someone over so many times he is a loser to me. Why do I want to cheer for a loser? Ric Flair was constantly losing matches in order to put someone over ie Bret Hart, Mr. Perfect, Sting. One reason I am not a Flair fan is because how do you cheer for a loser? I liked the characters that were invincible ie UW and HH.
@ScrapBrainLongIsland There are two types of wrestling fans. There are those that watch it on the surface and then there are those that like to watch it and critique as a production. I am the former. I could care less about the artistic part of it. I don't watch movies for example and think about how the shots were done or how the directing was or the good acting. The question is "Did it entertain me?" I think it is nonsensical to look deeply into professional wrestling. PW is not deep.
@jfearless1 PW may not be as deep as say, Schindler's List, but on quite a simple basis, we can tell the difference between good and bad storylines and concepts. This of course, affects the entertainment value. Let's take HHH as a heel in the late 90's. He had Stone Cold run over, took over control of the WWF, ended Foley's career and was trying to destroy the Rock. HHH was ruthless. Compare that to the Miz's title run. One is deeper than the other, thus it's more entertaining.
@ScrapBrainLongIsland Well, you are comparing the Miz to the Game. There is no comparison. I don't think the Game's storyline was deeper just darker. I don't think any PW storyline has ever been deep. It is PW. I think there were better storylines pre rated R WWE. As much as people hated the jobbers back in the day they did serve a purpose. They allowed character development. They allowed anticipation of one wrestler facing another instead of the same people facing each other week
@ScrapBrainLongIsland after week. They were running out of material and storyline once they started having prominent names facing prominent names. They way to make it from going t stale was to change it from PG13 to Rated R. It was the equivalent of doing a cheap pop. How much thought and creativity is needed in bra and panty matches or having someone do something outrageous like running someone over? I don't need those outrageous and immoral storylines to keep me viewing. I like
@jfearless1 When two guys hate each other, that feud is more entertaining than say, two guys fighting in the name of sport to see who is the better man. The audience has to connect with a character for them to really care. And to get them to do that, a superstar has to have talent on many levels. To be a good heel, you have to be good at being hated. That's why guys like Jack Swagger will never be champ again. He couldn't draw any heat from the crowd. Thus, we are unentertained.
@ScrapBrainLongIsland Jack Swagger had an opportunity to be a major face when he beat Jericho w his MITBC but the creative team told him not to smile or celebrate after he won the match. Before that match swagger would be all hyper and crazy in matches. When he beat y2j he was all serious and expressionless. You could tell the crowd wanted to cheer. They couldn't because his i dont really care face sucked all of the excitement out of them. The WWE didn't want to risk having people like
@ScrapBrainLongIsland him when they only intended to have him as a transition champ. As far as your point about the feud w two guys hating each other is more entertaining I disagree. I think the Hogan vs Warrior feud was one of the best of all time. They didn't hate each other.
@ScrapBrainLongIsland One last thing...I will name three feuds where the guys hated each other and they weren't very entertaining at all: RTruth and Morrison, Misterio and Del Rio, Christian and Orton, Cena and Del Rio. I think people want to see feuds with people who are evenly matched. What wrestling fan doesn't want to see Misterio vs the original Sin Cara? They don't even have to hate each other for people to want to see it. I appreciate your comments and thank you for your patience. I
@jfearless1 ...when Hogan would "Hulk up" and Rock would do the People's Elbow, the crowds would go crazy. Is that a bad thing? No. Different wrestlers have different styles, and when putting on a show, there's more to it than just being technical in the ring. Greatness is measure also in charisma, gimmicks, and mic skills. The Rock was the #1 trash talker of all time. And Austin has cut legendary promos, blowing up the DX express, n such. Don't get me wrong, I love Hogan and Savage, but Austin
...and the Rock brought something new to the table. Hulk Hogan was very animated, like a comic book hero, Rock was very smug and sarcastic, Austin was the badass, they were all something different and did it well. Cena on the other hand, is just corny. He's like watching a little kid try to be funny, or cool, or whatever, and just failing every time.
no ma balla q recuerdo estos tiempos sin jaladas de niñas como la miz o cody rodes ojala siempre viece sido asi come john d champ isssssssssssssssss hereeeeeeeeeeeee
@cluni It wasn't the original belt. The one Hogan wore for the majority of the 80s was the best one. It was a big gold belt with a golden eagle on it. Bret Hart had a chance to wear it. I am not sure when they changed it. All I know is that they trashed it and made it the hard core title.

Did anyone notice that at 7:53 you see a signbehind John Cena? Now after the commercial break that Cole mentions, to be more precise at 7:56, you see the same sign behind Cena again, though Cena was supposed to celebrate with the crowd throughout the whole break. Just found it funny that they repeated the scene after the break, the only difference being the different commentary^^
WOW I VERY MUCH MISS THIS CENA,HE WAS THE SHIT CHAINGANG NO PG PURE RUTHLESS AGGRESION CENA TOOK OUT THE BULLY JBL BACK THEN PEOPLE HATED HIM SO MUCH AND HE CHEATED HIS WAY TO WIN FOR THOSE 10 MONTHS HE WAS CHAMPION UNTIL CENA SHUT HIS MOUTH UP HE WAS TIGHT, I MISS HIS OLD CHAIN GANG/WORD LIFE WRISTBANDS AND THAT CHAIN GANG CHAIN SPINNER, WHAT HAPPEN TO HIM, WE ALL WANT THIS CENA BACK!!!!! WWE YOU FUCKEN SUCK FOR CHANGEING HIS GIMMICK FROM RAPPER GANSTER TO A CHILDRENS COLORFUL WRESTLING FANTASY
@THEFRESHISHERE, PG didn't come till 2008, The Great American Bash 2008 was WWE's last TV 14 show, but PG doesn't mean bad, it's mostly the writers fault why WWE is bad nowadays but Cm Punk is making it better.
i cant believe cena was the one who changed the title. I knew when he did that he was gonna be the next star and that hes just gonna keep winning that shit. The spinner belt was the worst idea ever...should of only lasted until his first title run ended. Bring back this belt
Ok. Right here, John Cena still LOOKS the part (of his 2004 rapper gimmick) but as you can hear, he talks a bit different, he's more intense as the interview goes on, the crowd isn't cheering QUITE as loud as they were BEFORE he won the title (not quite booing, but they're coming close.) It was after he beat JBL that the fans started to get tired of him.
@TrueTalkTV actually it kinda seemed like it started in 2005 around summerslam during his match against Chris Jericho when the crowd startin booin Cena and cheerin Jericho. idk that's just wen i noticed it
@newwwevids I think that's when it began to get more NOTICEABLE. In fact, I, MYSELF didn't even notice it until his feud with Kurt Angle in 2005 (after Jericho's). The booing was noticeable then. But before that, I could sort of sense that a change was in the air.
Its really sad that after this moment..CENA TURNED 0uT t0 B GAY!!!Wish he hadnt earned d title...he wud have bin this character for the rest 0f his LifE!!!!Dam

Personally I thought he acted like an 18 year old college punk who was just looking to
jfearless1 5 months ago
@jfearless1 four between them. Mostly Austin and the Rock punched during the matches. The Rock actually has more moves than Austin. He has the spine buster, the ddt, the peoples elbow, the rock bottom, and the sharpshooter (every once in a while). Austin has the Lou Thesz press and the stone cold stunner. So I am not a Cena fan. I just think the reasons for hating Cena are very hypocritical. You are the first that has actually given a good reason for not liking him namely his corniness.
jfearless1 5 months ago
@ScrapBrainLongIsland to get drunk and get into a fight. I never saw him as a good technical wrestler. I have been watching wrestling for over 30 years and I never saw Austin be very technical in the ring. The most technical move I have ever seen him do was the million dollar dream when he was the Ringmaster. Back in his WCW days he would do arm drags and hip tosses. When he became Austin he did a lot of punching, kicking, and stomping. This was before he ran into the Harts. His
jfearless1 5 months ago
@ScrapBrainLongIsland finishing move became the Stone Cold Stunner which in my opinion is one of the fakest wrestling moves next to the playback done by MVP. Thats not a knock on Austin. It is just a fact. The way to counter the SCS is simply to not fall on your knees. That neutralizes the move. The Stone Cold Steve Austin character basically was a rip off of the Sandman in ECW. The crowd liked SC because he swore, he gave the middle finger, and he drank beer. If he didn't do any of
jfearless1 5 months ago
@ScrapBrainLongIsland those things would people have liked him? Doubtful. People cheered him to encourage his vulgar behavior. They wanted to support his foul language and anti establishment mentality. It had nothing to do with his wrestling ability because he didn't have any. Now my favorite of all time didn't have any wrestling ability either but he was a much more powerful character in wrestling and he stood for good. That wrestler was Hulk Hogan. No one could beat Hogan fairly in his
jfearless1 5 months ago
@ScrapBrainLongIsland prime. Not even the warrior. During the Hogan/Warrior match Hogan had the Warrior pinned but the ref was knocked out. Hogan should have won that match. Anyway, every time Hogan lost he was blinded or he was tombstoned on a steel chair or a dirty ref did a fast count. It never was clean because the Hogan character was just too strong. Hogan was like Superman and Austin was like the Punisher. Sure the Punisher is cool but very mortal especially in comparison to SM.
jfearless1 5 months ago
@ScrapBrainLongIsland You are right though that Greatness is measured in various ways. I just think that the Rock and Austin took the cheap way out by being very vulgar bad ass characters. When the Rock was Rocky Maivia people chanted Rocky sucks and Die Rocky Die. Then he starts talking about pie and candy asses. Suddenly they cheer him? When Austin was the Ringmaster he was just there. No cheers. Very boring. He starts saying hell yeah and cans of whoop ass suddenly the crowd erupts.
jfearless1 5 months ago
@ScrapBrainLongIsland I am not a cena fan at all. I don't hate him. I don't like him. I try to ignore him. I agree he was better as a thug. However, when people give the reasons why they hate cena I like to point out that their reasons don't hold water because the same could be applied to wrestlers that they do like. For example, when they say he cant wrestle I point out that neither could Austin or the Rock. When they say he only has five moves I point out that Austin and Rock only have
jfearless1 5 months ago
@jfearless1 Honestly, the whole, "Cena can't wrestle" argument never flew with me. but I think someone could still be entertaining, and make a match entertaining in other ways. The Rock's feuds with HHH were exciting because with the McMahon Helmsley Faction, it was like, one man against an evil empire. The matches and story were exciting. You wanted to see the Rock overcome. And sometimes he failed. Cena on the other hand just plows through everyone like it's nothing. It gets stale real fast.
ScrapBrainLongIsland 5 months ago
@jfearless1 Not only that, but you have other arguments about Hogan sucking like, "He never put anyone over." Um, he put lots of guys over. It's just that in the 80's wrestling wasn't what it was today. Hogan's fame outclassed everyone, and they all wanted to see him win. But he put over lots of guys, like the Undertaker, Ultimate Warrior, Goldberg, Brock Lesnar and eventually, even the Rock and later Randy Orton.
ScrapBrainLongIsland 5 months ago

PW is not deep.
jfearless1 5 months ago
@jfearless1 PW may not be as deep as say, Schindler's List, but on quite a simple basis, we can tell the difference between good and bad storylines and concepts. This of course, affects the entertainment value. Let's take HHH as a heel in the late 90's. He had Stone Cold run over, took over control of the WWF, ended Foley's career and was trying to destroy the Rock. HHH was ruthless. Compare that to the Miz's title run. One is deeper than the other, thus it's more entertaining.
ScrapBrainLongIsland 5 months ago
@ScrapBrainLongIsland Well, you are comparing the Miz to the Game. There is no comparison. I don't think the Game's storyline was deeper just darker. I don't think any PW storyline has ever been deep. It is PW. I think there were better storylines pre rated R WWE. As much as people hated the jobbers back in the day they did serve a purpose. They allowed character development. They allowed anticipation of one wrestler facing another instead of the same people facing each other week
jfearless1 5 months ago
@ScrapBrainLongIsland after week. They were running out of material and storyline once they started having prominent names facing prominent names. They way to make it from going t stale was to change it from PG13 to Rated R. It was the equivalent of doing a cheap pop. How much thought and creativity is needed in bra and panty matches or having someone do something outrageous like running someone over? I don't need those outrageous and immoral storylines to keep me viewing. I like

@ScrapBrainLongIsland intelligent ones.
jfearless1 5 months ago
@jfearless1 When two guys hate each other, that feud is more entertaining than say, two guys fighting in the name of sport to see who is the better man. The audience has to connect with a character for them to really care. And to get them to do that, a superstar has to have talent on many levels. To be a good heel, you have to be good at being hated. That's why guys like Jack Swagger will never be champ again. He couldn't draw any heat from the crowd. Thus, we are unentertained.
ScrapBrainLongIsland 5 months ago
@ScrapBrainLongIsland Jack Swagger had an opportunity to be a major face when he beat Jericho w his MITBC but the creative team told him not to smile or celebrate after he won the match. Before that match swagger would be all hyper and crazy in matches. When he beat y2j he was all serious and expressionless. You could tell the crowd wanted to cheer. They couldn't because his i dont really care face sucked all of the excitement out of them. The WWE didn't want to risk having people like
jfearless1 5 months ago
@ScrapBrainLongIsland him when they only intended to have him as a transition champ. As far as your point about the feud w two guys hating each other is more entertaining I disagree. I think the Hogan vs Warrior feud was one of the best of all time. They didn't hate each other.
jfearless1 5 months ago
@ScrapBrainLongIsland One last thing...I will name three feuds where the guys hated each other and they weren't very entertaining at all: RTruth and Morrison, Misterio and Del Rio, Christian and Orton, Cena and Del Rio. I think people want to see feuds with people who are evenly matched. What wrestling fan doesn't want to see Misterio vs the original Sin Cara? They don't even have to hate each other for people to want to see it. I appreciate your comments and thank you for your patience. I

@ScrapBrainLongIsland just have so many thoughts and I have a hard time shutting up. My bad.
jfearless1 5 months ago
@jfearless1 ...when Hogan would "Hulk up" and Rock would do the People's Elbow, the crowds would go crazy. Is that a bad thing? No. Different wrestlers have different styles, and when putting on a show, there's more to it than just being technical in the ring. Greatness is measure also in charisma, gimmicks, and mic skills. The Rock was the #1 trash talker of all time. And Austin has cut legendary promos, blowing up the DX express, n such. Don't get me wrong, I love Hogan and Savage, but Austin
ScrapBrainLongIsland 5 months ago
...and the Rock brought something new to the table. Hulk Hogan was very animated, like a comic book hero, Rock was very smug and sarcastic, Austin was the badass, they were all something different and did it well. Cena on the other hand, is just corny. He's like watching a little kid try to be funny, or cool, or whatever, and just failing every time.

TrueTalkTV 11 months ago
@TrueTalkTV actually it kinda seemed like it started in 2005 around summerslam during his match against Chris Jericho when the crowd startin booin Cena and cheerin Jericho. idk that's just wen i noticed it
newwwevids 11 months ago
@newwwevids I think that's when it began to get more NOTICEABLE. In fact, I, MYSELF didn't even notice it until his feud with Kurt Angle in 2005 (after Jericho's). The booing was noticeable then. But before that, I could sort of sense that a change was in the air.
