So many people are afraid to talk about it because of its implications. The "inference" (your words) to animal behavior is a rather weak reaction and not in any way a substantive answer that explains the origin or the existence of human love and compassion found in most people. There is not one scintilla of evidence that animals act other instinctively when showing positive reactions to those that provide them with food, If strangers were to provid you with food, would you bite their hand or show a favorable reaction towards them??
If you arent willing to accept that studying the behavior of animals might be able to provide any light on the matter, then from where do you require an answer? He answered your question: Animals do exibit compassionate behavior that has little or nothing to do with food provision. Animals that live in social groups, such as humans, would benefit greatly by developing these traits. See also other primates, elephants, dolphins,etc.

He did adress your question, moron. Love and compassion are thought processes, as such all higher animals, not just humans have them. Cats dogs, horses, elephants, monkeys, apes (which include humans), and many others between the bird and mammal families show compassion toward their young as well as their own kind. Sometimes they'll show compassion toward us provided we respect them.

@tooltime9901 We don't just know a about thought processes in terms of how emotions get brought into play and why in terms of situations anymore. We've also learned a good deal about the hardware aspect. Asking about essentially neuroscience on youtube probably isn't the best idea, but if you're not willing to do some research and just want someone to give you second hand information then I'll just say that they're pretty simple processes and they are also apparent in other animals.

Love and compassion are not measurable, but what we see among animals and humans alike (particularly among mammals) is companionship (which ensures successful raising of young) as well as compassion (that video on YouTube of the dog pulling another dog out of the road). I find what is more interesting is to look at your house pets and be realistic about what they can and can't grasp. Time and speech for ex.

Why? It is a complicated answer... but an answer that sociology, anthropology, neuroscience, and evolutionary biology has answered. Long-story short, altriusm is a misfiring of a Darwinian principle: that principle being to reward those of like-will who are generous.

We aren't the fasters or the strongest, but we are the smartest. and we KNOW there is strength in numbers. Helping each other comes from our want and need to keep our species alive. Science actually can answer that question though. It's called "nuclear fusion". In the sun for example, two hydrogen atoms fuse into helium.

People have teleological minds. Meaning we see patterns and think in terms of design and purpose. So that is why things appear that way.
If you look into natural selection you will see that what looks like design is actually genes being chosen over time, based on which ones help something to survive to pass on those genes.

There are a great many hyppthesis as to how matter got here in the first place. Look up "multiverse" or "big crunch" just for example. You are missing the very important point that when science talks about the universe, it is talking about "the OBSERVABLE universe" and no scientist has ever implied that that was all there is. There might very well be *natural* causes operating outside.

So many people are afraid to talk about it because of its implications. "There is not a god" is not a claim, it is a rejection of your claim that there is a god, because we see no evidence for it. The classic Christian idea that animals are just automatons that just appear to experience emotions like pain, joy, fear, etc. is about as logical as the idea that a deity filled this universe with so much evidence to deny his existence, just to screw with us. If you arent willing to accept that studying the behavior of animals might be able to provide any light on the matter, then from where do you require an answer? He answered your question: Animals do exibit compassionate behavior that has little or nothing to do with food provision. Animals that live in social groups, such as humans, would benefit greatly by developing these traits. See also other primates, elephants, dolphins,etc.

Cats dogs, horses, elephants, monkeys, apes (which include humans), and many others between the bird and mammal families show compassion toward their young as well as their own kind. Sometimes they'll show compassion toward us provided we respect them.

We've also learned a good deal about the hardware aspect. Asking about essentially neuroscience on youtube probably isn't the best idea, but if you're not willing to do some research and just want someone to give you second hand information then I'll just say that they're pretty simple processes and they are also apparent in other animals.

Love and compassion are not measurable, but what we see among animals and humans alike (particularly among mammals) is companionship (which ensures successful raising of young) as well as compassion (that video on YouTube of the dog pulling another dog out of the road). I find what is more interesting is to look at your house pets and be realistic about what they can and can't grasp. Time and speech for ex.

We aren't the fasters or the strongest, but we are the smartest. and we KNOW there is strength in numbers. Helping each other comes from our want and need to keep our species alive. If you did not want to debate or ague, then you should not have posted at all. Youtube is an open forum, with statements and ideas and lots of other things representing in video's. You posting your statement here means that you will be called on it, if it is illogical or even if someone disagrees with you. If you are not ready for that then do not post. Age does not matter I know several 14/15 years old that can pwn 60 years old with all their experience.

Interestingly, however, most atheists don't find the concept of religion itself, or theists, offensive, it is only the manner in which that particular religion affects the world that may offend the atheist.

Science can not answer this question, everything which is made up from matter has to be created, you can not get something from nothing,and that dear friends means the existance of a God.

Evolution is not a theory about where all the matter comes from. It is just how things change via natural selection.
Science actually can answer that question though. It's called "nuclear fusion". In the sun for example, two hydrogen atoms fuse into helium.
Then large stars that have burned through all hydrogen, then can start fusing 3 helium atoms into a form of carbon. This can go all the way up to iron if the star is big enough.
So it's mostly gravity that is the root cause.

When someone says "the evolution of the cosmos" they just mean how it has changed since it`s beginning.

Yes protons and electrons were formed during the early Universe right after the big bang.
I can assure you there was never a void or nothing. That is not possible. Nothing is too orderly to exist, total chaos could be the only default if there is such a thing,
This universe may be one of many that form an infinite multiverse. Or another possibility is the universe had an infinite cycle. (the 2007 theory, not the crunch). We will have a better idea in a couple years.

We just put this space telescope in orbit. We are still testing, but it is returning amazing pictures already. So once it is calibrated, they can begin working on that.

Hubble has been up for almost 20 years! Kepler is WAY better than Hubble. It's like comparing a computer with a Quad core 64 bit CPU to one with a 386.
If we end up finding evidence of some sort of god, then that would settle it. I wouldn't be an atheist anymore, neither would anyone else for that matter. The chances of that are pretty low though. I'd say it's about even with the odds of finding a celestial duck that laid the big bang singularity like egg. lol

To me when I look at a new born Baby, all I can see is beuty, a body which has design and a purpose.
And that design to me is in all things from man made objects to the small things like a bee, it has fantastic design and a important purpose.

People have teleological minds. Meaning we see patterns and think in terms of design and purpose. So that is why things appear that way.
If you look into natural selection you will see that what looks like design is actually genes being chosen over time, based on which ones help something to survive to pass on those genes.
I can understand your thinking though. Natural selection does have the illusion of design.

There are a great many hyppthesis as to how matter got here in the first place. Look up "multiverse" or "big crunch" just for example. You are missing the very important point that when science talks about the universe, it is talking about "the OBSERVABLE universe" and no scientist has ever implied that that was all there is. There might very well be *natural* causes operating outside.

Now that's just stupid. Evolutionary theory does not attempt to answer that question, and doesn't need to answer it to be valid. What you're doing is to say that "two" is not the answer to "how much is one plus one?" because it doesn't provide satisfactory answers to OTHER mathematical questions. listen, there isnt a god who created the universe, man and earth. RELIGION WAS MADE FROM THE CAVEMEN WHO DID NOT KNOW WHY LIGHTNING STRUCK AND WHY THERE WERE THUNDERSTORMS! they invented "god" to give an answer to their people to why these things happened. and it has put people at ease ever since then.
