  • I know that I am two days late for Rememberance Day, but I would like to thank all of the brave soldiers who fought and died so that we may live in freedom from tyranny and oppression. We will always remember their sacrifices, may the Lord bless them and keep them at his side for eternity in peace.

  • if i die in a combat zone, box me up and send me home, lay my medals across my chest, tell my parents i done my best, tell my love not to cry because i am a soldier born to die

  • @devastater98 Where did you get this poem, it is very nice.

  • Such a tragic event war. It's sad that war still goes on.

  • We played this at my Dads Funeral nearly a year ago. He was a civvie for at least 15 years but was always a soldier. Will and always has send goosebumps down my spine.

  • Remember Private George Lawrence Price the last to die on the Western Front, 10:58 am, 11 November 1918.

  • i have to play last post and this solo for remembrance day. so nervous!

  • Just checking out last-minute YT’s versions of Last Post & Reveille. I'm actually playing Last Post & Reveille myself this coming Friday 11-Nov-11 and Sun 13-Nov-11 @ Prestatyn Parish Church, in lovely North Wales. Haven't played it for about 25 years... so wish me luck. Tense & tear-jerking though it may be, it's always a great opportunity to pay a personal tribute and to encapsulate the thoughts of others present, as we pay our respects to those who gave and to those are no longer with us.

  • I love this!! :) I'm playing this for my school next Thursday for our assembly :)

  • @bugleranger - Trumpets dont cheat. Last post is played in the open position, no buttons used.

and @ mikypoo135 - You cant hit notes above the staff like that without having total control over your mouth. - This guy was professionally trained - he knows what he's doing.

  • I liked it :) but he shouldn't be puffing his cheeks. And also is doesn't matter. It's usually played by a trumpet now. But originally by a bugle.

  • @Mikypoo135 its a bugle call we still play it,, trumpeters cheat,, they got buttons

  • @bugleranger and he missed a note on the revellie

  • @Mikypoo135 I dunno, I think maybe he just has a fat face - that was good tone. Also, I have no idea what it's like to play a brass instrument with that massive hat and chinstrap.

Playing this again next week; planning to take a slower approach, but not as slow as this soldier.

  • @Mikypoo135 The great Jazz Trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie puffed up his cheeks. It doesn't matter as long as their embouchure is good.

  • too perfect. needs more ups and downs. other than that still pretty good.

  • Shouldn't the last post be played on a bugle and not a trumpet?

  • @ImActuallyBatman doesnt matter you dont use the buttons on a trumpet

  • Im so glad that this talented individual is playing it at a respectful and slow pace! It is often too readily hurried along

  • I could not and would not ever have been able to pause or turn from this video the moment I clicked on it. Beautifully played. I very nearly saluted. :)

  • Wad the statue another war memorial in Ottawa?

  • @CommunistCanadian

It is a monument to Wm. B. Osgoode and John Rogers who fell in action at Cutknife Hill, 2 May 1885 (Northwest Canada)

  • One person as no soul!

  • Thats cool. The Maple Leaf Forever!

  • Yes it is played at funerals and ceremonies of remembrance.

  • Kind of reminds me of the US Military Taps, is this played at military funerals as well?

  • great played, great last post, very moving. Greetings from a German Staff Officer, Berlin

  • HOW CAN ONE PERSON NOT LOKE THIS WHAT AN UTTER FUCK-TARD...

  • just one thing i will say PERFECT!.....

  • only this perfect!

  • Hi dappawap

There are alot a fake bugle's on the market therefore if the sound your getting is of poor quality on a Bb Bugle then you might not have purchased the real thing. McQueen's make the most popular UK version and these retail for £195 plus VAT & Shipping. The calls you will find on YouTube of myself sounding are all Cavalry/RHA rather than Infantry calls. Therefore, you will see me with either an Eb Cavalry Trumpet or Eb State Trumpet. Search via Light Cavalry HAC.

  • The call of Freedom!

  • that was clearer the the oceans of the world and more peaceful then the summer breeze skipping across the water.

  • Try also Remembrace Day posted by ReaperManTP, its awesome with some wonderful pics. Lest we never forget our fallen heroes

  • Awesome! To those who fight, Freedom has a meaning the protected will never know

  • Comment removed

  • I went to a military summer training camp for cadets and this woke me up at 6 every morning.

  • @Sally980 oh god... I hated doing the PT in the morning, stumbling over to the delta lines....-_- well it's over now...

  • Wrong instrument by tradition the Infantry Last Post should be sounded on a Bb Bugle! The tone on a Bb Trumpet is not the same. The natural Eb Cavalry Trumpet should be used for Cavalry Last Post.

  • @cinqueport1967 Really? I have a Bb bugle and it sounds like crap. Perhaps you should post a video of yourself with this instrument so we can hear what you mean. Thanx.

  • 2:37 beautiful.

  • Awesome! This is such a perfect video to observe the 11th hour with when you are alone or at work. Thanks for making it! Excellent excellent.
