I don't understand why the snake tries to bite UNTIL being picked up, and then the snake is calm. Why is that? Why does the snake not continue to try to bite after being picked up? I see this all the time and I don't understand why.
@Future88888888 simple, the "defense" is to bite but if they get picked up and, some snakes do this, they'll hold off on biting until they see if you're going to harm them. Depending on the snake also is a big factor. This snake, by nature, is an easy to handle snake but they can bite as you can see - quick little boogers too!

I've been doing this for many of years and making negative comments, being a herper yourself, will not help you at all if you decide to make a career of it or try to have a conversation in dept with other herpers. To bad for you that you didn't get it. A "Pink" is a small rat or mice that was born and has not opened it's eyes yet and hasn't got fur yet.
