@lucabraziNC my point was you don't need to buy food you can hunt or grow it; you can only take away a town's food and water if their only way to get it is to buy it from a store. By the way if they shut down every grocery store in america i would still be able to find fresh water and an animal to kill. and its not when,it is now and since the start of civilization, that jewelry has been more valuable than food! Jewelry or precious stones and metals are units of exchange (i.e. money)

"It's impracticality, especially in this day in age, makes it's worth negligible"- wrong again; when fiat money becomes worthless precious metals and jewels will be much more valuable than food or water; Have you seen the price of gold or silver compared to the price of commodities - jewelery is more valuable than food or water in fact water isn't even traded on the world market! Again I will repeat I can find fresh water two feet from my house and if I get hungry enough I can kill a pigeon!

@brno22504 I'm afraid your sense of value is skewed, partner, as is your sense of reality. You aren't the only person that exists therefore, the resources you think you'll to be able to claim so freely aren't as easy to acquire as you'd like to think them-- especially in times of crisis. Metallurgy and ore mining only came about after there was an abundance of food to sustain the workers. Go a month without eating while holding a bar of gold and a loaf of bread and determine the higher value.

@brno22504 Firstly, me being a rapper has nothing to do with our discussion. Secondly, your sense of reality is skewed in that you believe that your bubble of a backyard can't be accessed by people who are just as (if not more) hungry than you are. Let's not even fathom the idea of looters having weapons to commandeer your belongings, your argument will probably be "I have more guns and bullets than all of them." Given your responses, I doubt you know the real implications of economic collapse.

Well at least your right about one thing I do have guns and bullets and will defend my self and my family from criminals ( and I have already done so) . My city was destroyed by a natural disaster I know more about survival than you may think.
