Russian Bears Motorsport plans to enter two Lada 110, dubbed LADA 1106, into the WTCC for the next race at Valencia, May 16  18. The Lada 110 WTCC is powered by a 280 hp 2.0 liter Opel engine and has withstood its first tests on the Zandvoort track in The Netherlands.

at least Lada got balls to compete in WTCC... so far its been only BMW, Seat, Chevy and a few Hondas in the mix... where are the others? Alfa? Mercedes? Toyota? Peugeot? Opel? Audi? Ford? nothing!

Chevrolet = Ray Mallock + former Opel Rally

Peugeot and Alfa-Romeo left the WTCC championship.

Ford races with Volvo C30, but they use E85-powered cars which do not fall under the S2000 spec so they don't earn any points.

yep also toyota moved to F1. Honda and other japanese brands are competing in japanese series. I don't think balls are enough you also need cash. I think BMW are rich enough to compete in 3-4 different series but not everyone.

Lada wan't competing in any series so they can choose... The world crisis isn't helping for sure :(

agreed... but now that Honda pulled out of F-1, then maybe they can spend just a few cash from what they saved from the F-1 programme to improve their Honda Accord WTCC challenger... give BMW and Seat a run for their money

Why should Audi and Mercedes join the WTCC? Bothe race DTM, Mercedes F1, VLN and Audi LeMans ALMS VLN and US Grand Am... WTCC would be a huge step back, the reason why BMW left WTCC to return to the big boys in the DTM.

Toyota is heading back to LeMans, Peugeot is bussy fighting Audi in LeMans and the ALMS..btw Seat represents VAG in the WTCC why VAG should they send two brands to race a 2l touring car race series?
