Apoclpyse Now is THE viatnam War film. it somes up everything about the madness of that time. Francis Ford Copolla looks to the past and creates the atmosphere perfectly. Full Metal Jacket is NOT about Viatnam. Stanley Kubrick actually looked to the future and made a film about Iraq.

Excellent editing and immaculate juxtaposition...this video itself is just as haunting and as powerful as FMJ and AN (especially given they're put up alongside one another)

Although I was born 15 years after the Vietnam conflict ended, it's really easy by watching these movies to identify the "madness, horrors, and futility" of this war (and for that matter, any war)

Should of mentioned the enormous difficulties Coppola went through during production;

such as Martin Sheen's heart attack on set, his alcholism (the scene at the start where he brake the mirror is real, he was off his face) and how Brando turned up bald, overweight, and hadn't read 'Heart of Darkness", just to name a few.

overall a great tribute ! :)
