Mine, a 2.5 S of the same year, continues to be reliable as heck. However, like the OP said, it DOES suck in the snow. If I were in New England or other northern states, I'd go as far as getting snow tires for it, even though it's FWD.
This just motivates me to go all-out and get a used G35 next. That way, I'll suck in the snow, but have more fun the rest of the time. Altimas are still great cars.
@altimax9091 No issues at all. We did just sell it though. Actually turned it in on lease. They don't do well in the snow so we just picked up an SUV.
have an 03 V6SE in sheer silver with the 6 spokes... frost interior, love it. Mine currently (bought it 6 months ago) has 58,450 miles on it. It also has an auto too. Also has the sport package and I do hate leather too. Great review!
Really nice video, shows almost the whole car, I'm thinking to buy one in a few months but i'm not sure if a want a 2.5 or a 3.5 I need to find another video like this of the 2.5 haha. to compare the options and mpg
I hadn't when I made this video but I've since had to replace the ac line and a drivers side wheel bearing. Not bad for almost 100k. I did the work myself, parts were around $150 USD
in these cars you have to use super unleaded gas....chevron or texaco it will get rid of any emissions bad smell ...i almost replace my cat converter ,which that was not the problem ...
I think the 2005 was the best model for it's generation. Did you know the factory wheel cost $790 per wheel to replace. That's if you buy it from the dealer. Good video.
Hi,..Just bought my Altima 06 3.5SE with 30,000 miles last week. Was wondering if your engine burns any oil at all. If so, can you say how much. Thanks.
No, it has never burned oil. I think my wife just hit 84k miles last week. Besides regular maintenance (brakes, tires, oil, coolant, etc), the only issue we had was the black strip that meets the door and the roof started coming up but that was covered under a recall.
I'm also 6'2'' and I've been perfectly comfortable in my 05 2.5S. It's incredibly roomy- moreso than the G35 and Maxima my parents drive. I've taken mine across the country twice and it just soaks up the miles effortlessly. Overall, a very reliable, comfortable and fun to drive car. I'd look for a 3.5 if I were buying used since depreciation would have minimized the added cost of the V6. The icing on the cake is that Nissan's V6 is among the more bulletproof motors on the planet.
Yeah, I've heard that the Maximas don't have much room. I test drove an 05 Altima 2.5 and I had a lot of leg room. Not much head room, but I can deal with that. I can't deal with my legs not having space.
do all 2005 3.5 se come with sunroof?

@ibbi270 I think you can get it without but all the ones I've seen have had them.

Kinda wish we would have gotten Silver, the Gray shows so much dirt. Thanks for watching!
Johnnysshop 2 years ago
@Johnnysshop Gray isn't too bad.
I think balck is probably the worst.
My moms sentra is black and it's horrible during the winter.
I have a gold 05 altima and I think it's the best colour.Shows little dirt and it also doesn't get hot during the summer.

Thanks for posting this. I love the Altima (particularly this year and model) and I'm hoping to have one as my 1st car.
One question, would you recommend this car for someone tall, because I am 6'2?
TallNBlack 2 years ago
No prob. Yes, there is a ton of room in this car. I'm short but my buddy is 6' 5" and absolutely loves the car and has plenty of room.
Johnnysshop 2 years ago
I'm also 6'2'' and I've been perfectly comfortable in my 05 2.5S. It's incredibly roomy- moreso than the G35 and Maxima my parents drive.
