He speaks of a kind complacency in western design with a lack of optimism and risk taking. Whats glaringly strange are these descriptions dividing the world that are rooted in race.

I would love to work for this man, he virtually introduce organicly shape cameras and cars in the 1980's when back then all things looks straight & geomatric. Now all those rounded looking things that we taken for granted all started from this man. He's the man I look up to since age 7.
This guy is my HERO! It's so true! every car company is creating the same "CRAP"! Lexus just came out with a "new model" but it's exactly the same as their other models! Dude i can design WAY BETTER CARS than today's car designers! i can't way to go to school!
so true, american and european design used to be so inspired, but now the populace has become so conservative they think camrys and malibus are nicely designed, everything is the same, i think i might visit china after i go to college for design, but not live there
I always liked Colanis designs even when I was a kid. It was just recently (now age 42) that I found out that the house of my parents has a Colani kitchen-sink. ;^)
I met him several times, my former Boss worked for him several years. Colani is extreme controversial and therefore brilliant because he thinks out of the square BUT delivers. He is right, Universities are afraid of him, he was to be given the Design Professorship at my University and the Dekan would not nominate him, he was afraid. What they got instead was a guy with lots of titles and degrees behind his name but absolutely useless !!!
