I just love all this hair splitting musicologist BS......listen..love...enjoy...get a life! Playing the violin is like painting..graphology..all an expression of the inner self that yearns for such expression..and music is the only medium by which it CAN be expressed. Therefore, each entity will have his/her unique palette in such expression, and its the exquisite combination of spirit, soul, particular composer, wood and string that brings the life to our experience of it.
This could have been Bethoven. It's very savage for Mozart. He uses very long bows.Technically perfect but musically just good.Oistrakh's version is way better.Actually is the best.
@RollingShit1234 It's personal preference, but this concerto is one of Mozart's more aggressive, dramatic violin concertos, and Mr. Heifetz took advantage of the dramatic nature of the score. I disagree, however, that Oistrakh's interpretation is "way better", since Heifetz is regarded as one of the most exciting mozart players. It's up to each person to choose their favorite. I agree that Oistrakh's is more mozartian and elegant, but so is every other amazing violinist's interpretation.
Heifetz bravo interpretation of the classical style... one of the few great exzecutive artist that was able to understand and interpret the different era's of music into the proper style of the period.
