  • You sir a a genius. You gained respect.

  • what is the song?

  • @UNIDAD347 It's my Rock version cover of the '80 song "straigt up" by paula abdul. The guitar you hear is the one I am making in the video, and it is me singing.

  • @jem777mc that's a cool metal song. did you know paula abdul tried making a pop version of it in the 80's? lol

  • @grimreaper87 Really, WoW I didn't know.......maybe she and I have to make a duet from it!

  • how hard was it to use a hand router? I was told not to do it without a template

  • @69stringibanez Well, it's not that really hard, sure you can use a template...I did in the beginning...but I have somehow a better control over the router without the template. the crusial point is the first 3 routes you do....you have to keep a eye on the line, from there you can hear it by sound of the router...and that is so much easyer.

See my other video of free hand routing.

    Regards,

  • If I were ever to do this. I woulden't hurt any of my guitars, I would make it from scratch.

  • Wow Awesome guitar you've got Skills Who is the Singer though? he's Fucking horrible lol

  • I wish I could build my own guitar just like that! An explorer shaped riff machine!

  • This is possibly the stupidest song I've ever heard. Nice guitar though.

  • Not a good choice for a metal song. Paula Abdul?

  • What is that god awful song?

  • @ravenshield56 A Paula Abdul cover. *Hangs head in shame.*

  • wouuuu, exelente, que buena guitarra

  • NICE!!!!

How long did it take you to build it???

  • good job dave mustaine is in metallica now otherwise this you would be sued for copyright ;)

  • Beautiful guitar, make sure you label the guitar at the antilosta website just in case you loose it one day, I have all my valuables labeled with antilosta and recently had an expensive camera returned back to me after having lost it away from home in one of my gigs.

  • nice job. would be sweet if you could do 1 neck thru and no bolt on.

  • nice guitar,bad song :D

  • 3:30 , put a shirt on! but other than that, nice guitar:D

  • Where are the pics of the finished guitar? That pic at the finish of the video isn't the same guitar.

  • dude that was awesome!

  • what the price of this guitar (your custom) , nd what the price of the real one by dean

  • @ChineseTOP this guitar goes for $1650 (shipping is on me)

  • Have you ever consided making guitars and selling them? These could at least sell for $900-$4500 each. I would buy them if you lived in Australia :)

  • @rspker123str No not really, but if you are interested...this one goes for $1650 if you like.

  • @jem777mc Umm. I'd have to ask mum. What would you say for posting/shipping?

  • @rspker123str shipping cost is on me

  • @jem777mc Welll mate, thanks for the info and great work but mum said no :( But, I hope you do start a little business and make great money :)

  • were did you get all the gold parts?

  • @UltimateDestructuM I found most of them on Ebay.

if you are intersted, maybe I still have the link of the seller.

  • @jem777mc yes please

  • wow if this is you singing lol id stop RIGHT NOW!!!

  • did you make all of those other guitar bodys?

  • @MrStockholmz , I did most of them yes. Some others are originals.

You can read about the selfmade ones on my website.

  • id happily pay to have a guitar made, would never be able to make one :P

  • that programed u used in the beginning, is that program good for designe guitars?

Is it free or how much does it cost if so ?

  • what material is the guitar body template made of?? i am building a guitar myself, havn't found a body yeat, but with a template it is easier to deside the body-shape and size. i'm bulding a guitar there is no shape for... so, if you don't mind, help me.

thank you. and where do you buy such a material??

  • @omgutt222 I used MDF for the Template.

You can see the whole matial list and how to do it on my website, under projects.

  • I think you did a really good job on this! Congratulations!

  • uuhh dude this song was gaaay

  • Do want :D

  • what is the title of this song?

  • @stevedeguzman , straight up from paula abdoul

  • @jem777mc that song is really sucks...

  • how you ot at the beginning the original size for the shape of the custom dave V ? i mean, how did yougot the right measurements? ah , by the way, how much time and money did you spend on building this guitar?

  • @chrisisdark1 as you see in the beginning of that video, I made a 1:1 scale print out for the right shape and form, all the rest was done by eye.......building cost was near the 1200 euro

  • You showed the body, but didn't show the whole guitar complete. I'm curious what it looks like with the Ibanez headstock on it? I hate the Dean headstock they're using on them now.

  • what did you put over the guitar, that brown thing, what was it?

  • this song really sucks

  • You are good.

  • you should make me a guitar..though I want to buy the Dean version..

  • @wisesatyr72 ; Just name a price fopr this one.

  • @jem777mc haha, yeah Ive checked out your website, love the snake, very impressive work you did on this guitar., it sure made us deadbeats realized you dont have to be conventional in paying for the guitars that we want, hope you will make more in the future, cheers!

  • @jem777mc ik kom ook uit nederland, en zeg maar hoeveel je ervoor hebt uitgegeven. dan zal ik proberen een bod te doen ;)

  • @jem777mc Not including the hardware and neck, how much did the body material cost? And how long did it take to make HOURS. Private message me if you would like to keep this information private

  • im doing something like this, im doing a VMNT with an offset V for the body, so its like a combination of a rhodes and a mustaine

  • whats the song?

  • @RevisedTV; What you hear is me playing and singin the Paula Abdoul Straight Up from the '80.....my way.....you an read all about it on my website if you like.

  • @jem777mc you sound liek mustaine

  • @RevisedTV ; I take that as a compliment. Thanks.:)

  • What was the stuff you put on the guitar at 3:00 ?

  • @DonXter ; the first layer is a mix of black indian ink, waterbased black paint, and some water, to bring out the textures of the wood. the second layer is a mix of chestnut ink and water, to color the final body. the 3rd layer is the chestnut only to lowlight some extra texture to the overall look.

  • Please, I beg you, give me all those tools you used, you can have them back when my project is done. Oh wait, all I need is a power drill and paint... Nevermind.

  • Wow if you made that song then... That is just awesome.

reminds me a symphany for the devil.

  • man absolutely epic job....i wish i was able to do that (and had the tools), i'd make myself a 5 string bass with that body xD

  • yeahhhhh you are crazy..... goooooddddd job men.....

  • were all those guitars at the end made by you o0?

    nice work man

  • @Aremine Not all of them.....but yes most of them.

  • Song reminds me of Psychotron. The singing actually.

  • Were did you get the song!!!

  • I didn't, I recorded it my self, it's me playing and "singing"

  • @jem777mc you made that song, i thought that was a megadeth song, badass guitar to

  • @88fanforlife hahah, cool...no really this was an '80 song by Paula Abdul...But I recored it in some megadeth type idea....because of the guitar.

You can read the whole story at my website......for a better understanding Why I recorded the song. :)

  • dude paula abdul done metal man i love it :) i want the tabs for this :)

  • @chefkdowg I can Tab it out for you if you like.

just send me een PM, and I see what I can do. If you like I have the backing track also for you. Which I did in Fruityloops with EZdrummer, but thanks for this kind message.

  • @jem777mc Hey that was really awesome and it is almost inspiring me to do the same id just need to buy the tools =/ if you tabbed it out do you think you could send them to me? Thanks.

  • That's the worst song i've ever heard....

  • what size did you print the picture on ace poster

    Width?

    Height?

    plz reply much appreciated.

  • widht 53,00

    Height 43,71

  • simply amazing, i wish i could do guitars as you do. and i would LOVE a V like that, dave fucking rocks

keep on doing such a great job and congratulations!

  • if i were you id make my own signature guitar

  • Do the guitars you build work like normal guitars?

  • yep, they do.

  • Awesome.

  • its maybe because the flying V is a simple (compared to other ones like strats and les pauls, explorers, etc) yet very fucking awesome shape!

(or maybe not, i've never built a guitar XD)

  • woah did you make all those guitars that were at the end of the video. i wish i surly had your skill in making guitars.

  • Well, not all of them ,but most of them yes.

You can read about those onmy website.

    Thanks for your kind word.

    regards.

  • Very cool. I applaud the effort & skill that went into making this. Keep up the good work

  • thanks and I will......Now days I am working on a new JEM and a Fireman. (witch will be I think a 12 string)

keep your eyes open to my website and youtube channel. Thanks again

  • you should make a michale angelo batio 4 neck it seems crazy but i bet u can do it

  • builder

  • It took me about 3 minutes into the video to realize this is a Paula Abdul cover.

  • hahahahahhaha, cool.

    I take that as a compliment. :)

  • is this wood high quality?

  • yes it is a great wood.

    Sounds amazing, great sustain.

    Rocks as hell

  • I find the painting part interesting..

  • OK cool, by why the painting?

  • It was painted weird like wood then it was so shiny, what do you do in painting guitars?

  • @Chasefast ; on this guitar I used waterpaint mixed with black indian ink as a base, the coloured second layer is a chenut ink to give that brown-ish look.

And finished it with a 2componand mix clear coat. (mostly used on piano's, for the better sustain.)

  • i love your ibanez euphoria <3

  • cool, thanks

  • its dave mustaine not mustain

  • no its mustaine i have his autograph

  • you have hos autograph holy shit u luckey bastard

  • actually i have 2 from namm

  • what song is playing in the background?

  • My Version of the Straight up song.

  • can you give me the body dimensions for this? i would love to build my own just to piss my dad off, he doesnt think i can do anything

  • hey what did you use as a top coat (to make it shine).

  • This is a two-componant piano Clear coat, for a better sustain, looks nice, and is very good for the guitar sound.

  • Cool video, maybe you can show how the final product looks like. spend a bit of time showing it!

  • i wish i had tools and money to build me a guitar

  • so did oyu seriously redo a paula abdul song? wtf dude?

  • how did you know? you listen to paula abdul?

  • well if ur trying to be a smartass about than realize that ur the one who took the time to play that song...and no i dont...i just happen to know that song...im a musician..and i must know my enemy :)

  • im not the guy that made this video, im just sayin

  • watch?v=D5A3yF0bjLo

  • okéyyy?? you build the VMNT but you don't use a Megadeth song :S

  • what is the height and width ?

  • cool but u need 2 stick 2 guitar no vocal stuff!!

  • man you need to change vocalist...

  • Good work...but you could go for a neck-thru

    bolt-on sux

  • can i download the song

  • Comment removed

  • nice job!

  • and a link to the image if it's possible

  • what width and height do you use in ace poster ?

  • What size should the drill bit has for the bridge studs??

  • if I remeber right, it was a 15 bit.

  • mooi gedaan :)

  • dank je. ;)

  • What is it you put on before the paint?

  • You mean the black thingy?

That is water based pain with black indische ink.

I did this, to be sure that the wood structure would stand out once I added the wallnut ink to the body.....so it's all water based paint and ink.

  • Impressive!!

  • haha paula abdul

  • nice project m8 !

  • oh.. btw, i have a full set of blueprints and evne a complete solid model of the jem guitar

  • Blue prints are always welcome

  • send me a private message with your email and ill send them

  • did you just get the body specs from a photo?

  • In a way, .....yes.

I used the photo for its size, shape and form.

The position of the bridge, you van tell by the size of the neck.

  • i dont blame you.. ive been desperately trying to find the dimensions/blueprints for the king V online so i can make a 3D solid model of it to carve with a CNC router, but no luck.. i do have the rhoads V in which i mirrored the top horn, relocated the center line, and redrew in the crotch.. i just need to scale it down slightly to match and i should have a king V

  • do you make any to sell

  • No I don't, I only build them for personal use.

    Sorry.

if you like guitars like this, you can contact Christopher Woods, he makes also great guitars.

    Regards,

    Denny

  • what kind of college did you go to learn how to do that

  • None, I just started to try this, and turned out to be great after a while.

I started on some cheap wood, and later on with the real thing. but I didn't learned anything on some kind of school or something......just learned it myself

  • awesom if i had teh equipment and money id sure as hell make a guitar or a few

  • hae dude have you made all of the guitars on that wall??? cheers

  • not all of them, but most of them are hand made.

See my website for more details.

  • i find it funny how the videos exactly 4:20 seconds long lol i made a custom to i used the mustaine design but added horns onto the v so its a sort of a x shape

  • Thats amazing, was wondering. What did you use to paint it?

  • the black is a mix of waterbased paint with black ink. and the brouw is a a chesnut ink.

  • were did you get the template and sick guitar by the way

  • I made teh template myself.

like you see in the video.

it's just a picture, printed on a few a4 papers taped together....so I could cut in out the wood board.

  • wow can u make me one?

  • that was awesome.. must say......

bt i wish to see the rest of the show..

    cheers.. great job..

  • thanks........but what show you wanna see?

  • i wish to see the making of the fretboard and stuff....

  • Oh that is what you mean, well I am not that good.....I still have no clue how to make a neck.

So i buy original Ibanez necks and custom those to the guitar that I am makeing.

But who knows in the future.

  • they usally get 2 pieces of the wood u want 2 make the neck out of and trace out the shape of the neck on the wood then use a band saw and cut it out , then use like a sander and smooth the headstock and edges like u want them and or thickness/shape of the neck

  • fooking sweet dude

  • thanks! Dave Mustain rock's!!!

  • Wow, this is awesome.

  • is it cheaper to make your own guitars?

  • yes and no, this one is cheaper build, than an original would cost me to buy.

But still, the parst (specialy the pickups) are the biggest cost for me, since the dollar vs euro thing we have here.

But overall its cheaper to build the guitar your self.

  • ok thanks

oh and very nice job ;D

  • Whats that coat you are adding from 3:00 minutes onwards?

  • Hey, What this is is first a acril Black paint, watered done. say 70%water 30% paint.

The second collor is a 100% chestnut ink.

The first layer brings out the flame in the wood. The second layer add the color to the body, so you could use any color you wish.

There is a full building story on this project on my own website.

If there is anything else, let me know

  • Nice, thats really cool to make your own guitars!

  • wht is the url for your website??

  • like the movie said at the end. :)

  • lol gay song

  • Dude you rock!

  • Thanks

  • thanks. :)

I have a lot more at my website.

All those instructional videos are on my website, with tablature.

    Rock you later
