  • Is there any way to play this game on an American NES?

  • @WillisFilms1 Yes of course - there are many, many Famicom to NES adapters out there, from honeybees to generic ones. Just check ebay or import game shops.

  • Great review. Subbing. More Fami!

  • Very interesting, I am actually at this point wanting to track down a copy.

  • @AMysticSeer if you want, I'll see you a second copy that I got since making this video. PM me if you're interested. It's CIB.

  • I don't know if its just me, but the ClassicFamicom Wars and Gameboy Wars series were more difficult from the modern Famicom/Advance Wars games.

  • @AeroClash Well yes and no. The old-school Famicom Wars mechanics are more primitive and less refined. For instance, troops cannot board a transport then have the transport move and drop them off all in the same turn like APCs can in Advance Wars, you cannot check the range of long range units by simply holding B, there are no CO powers, and many of the classic maps are indeed more difficult than the majority of AW maps. That said, the AI is a lot more primitive and easier to out-wit.

  • @SatoshiMatrix1 Thats true.

  • famicom wars is awesome

    my favorite strategy series

    favorite famicom wars is DS

  • how did you get this english version? i have an english rom patched version but alot of the menus are still in Japanese writing.

  • Did you watch the second part? Anyway, the latest version of the patch (circa 2008) translates the menus quite well. You'll notice that I switched from my PowerPak back to the actual Famicom cart in part 2.

  • Thanks so much! Yes i did notice that! i will look up that newer translated patch.

  • You mentioned that initial attackers do more damage than the counter-attacking forces. Although this is true in the recent Advance Wars games, from my experience this is not true in Famicom Wars or Super Famicom Wars. If someone else has already brought this up, sorry for repeating it.

  • @kpx107

In FW and SFW, both sides attack at the same time. Same in Game Boy Wars 1/2/Turbo. And Game Boy Wars 3 to an extent.

  • i'm gonna buy a Famicom just to play this game

  • Great review!

  • Think they'll port this to the virtual console? And how did you get translated menus?

  • I doubt they'll import this to VC

  • thanks for the review satoshi! 5/5

  • love these reviews for lesser known games, very informative and cool but please do a few more well known titles every now and then please, itd just be cool to have a childhood game get reviewed is all haha.

  • I'll try to strike a good mix. That being said, I'm going to space out the Marios, Megamans and other big name classics between more obscure Famicom gems that most non japanese players probably haven't tried. But thanks for the comment and the subscription. As I continue to make more reviews, they will improve in quality and most liekly, frequency.

  • Wow, I always liked Advance Wars a lot, and in the next minute, I'm gonna see how it all started =D

Thanks a lot for this vid ^^

  • Hey good stuff. It's me, Kuvio!

    I Have To Buy This!

  • Great stuff

  • Great review!
