  • 08BAMA!

  • What a wonderful teacher and group of kids. No matter how this election turns out, I hope they maintain their passion, involvement and optimism.

  • Equality-Yes we can.

  • For a world where equal opportunity can truly exist: Yes we can.

  • For a world more fair and just: Yes, you can.

  • Truly inspiring.

  • As one guy said it feels like their talking one-on-one when he gives a speech, they feel like their on the same page. His words to "unite" the country and "bring people together" reach into our sub-conscious and make us feel better about whatever problems we face in our own lives. Because of Obama's ability and mastery at emotionally appealing and connecting with people (which John Kerry severely lacked) he will win the election. OBAMA 08!!!!!!

  • You can see it in this video, the kids are not saying Obama will be a good president because he will do such-and-such thing. It's more emotional terms like "safe" "possible" and "inspiring", he makes people believe that whatever they want for their community and the world he bring it about.

  • Realize that none of the students are talking about policy. A big REASON Obama is so popular is because he connects to people emotionally. Any other person could read his speeches and not have an impact, it's because Obama has the elusive "it" factor when he gives speeches... there's something that connects with you when you hear him talk. Try reading aloud one of his speeches, it's not as easy as you might think to put the emotion and meaning that he puts into the words.

  • FOCUS ON UNITY! GO BARACK!

  • O shit I'm going to that school next year!!! o.O

    I feel scared. LOL xP

  • its going down!!!

    stand up y'all

  • This is an amazing video.

  • wow i love this video lol

  • LOVED THIS!

  • This is what it is about - he is inspiring people - you notice none of them spoke about how much money Obama might give them they spoke about how he inspired them to do good for themselves.......this is the difference - he will not throw money at things he is inspiring people to govern themselves - this is not Republican or Democrat this is American!!!

  • well done! this a very powerful video of the impact of Obamas campaign. as we speak he has planted the seeds of change and all these young people have begun to see their country in a different light!

  • Europe hope

  • Good JOB!!!!!! Well Done, and Si Se PUEDE!!!!

  • is this a public school?

  • LETS GO OBAMA!!! U CAN DO IT!! lol

    yea no joke

  • Oh, just for fun, I might add that my wife and I are not related, I don't use chewing tobacco, or play the banjo with my feet. This is simply to indicate that our stereo-types aren't always valid. Perhaps this is what you pictured with my first statement indicating that I'm white man born in the "South". God bless.

  • It is evident that tomorrow's generation is heading in the right direction. I'm a white man raised in the South where prejudices are very prevalent. I'm now living in Washington. I fully intend to vote for Obama. It speaks volumes about our nation having a very strong possibility of voting a black man into the White House. If the various ethnic backgrounds can set aside stereo-types and prejudices, we will all benefit. Life is too short to limit our contacts. I'm excited about the future.

  • the world should see how easy it is to change peoples minds and to give them hope. people always think, that you cant change young people and they`re behaviour. look what just one speech did to them. thats amazing. I really hope, that Barack Obama knows what responsibilty he took. I also hope that he really does act on it. salam from germany

  • wonderful

  • real young people talking, more power to 'em

  • loved it - thanks.

  • each school.. should have a channel on youtube .

  • POWERFUL.

  • Peace to all of you. You are great - you are the generation that will save this world.

    Yes we can.

Yes we will - make it happen

    Peace.

    God bless all of us.

    Make it happen.

  • OBAMA IS A UNITER! He will be the strongest leader America has ever had!

There is no way I will vote for LYING CORRUPT HILLARY or her WARMONGERING CORPSE of a friend McCain, the biggest joke amongst the three!

  • This guy is a fantastic teacher. It is great that he is orienting his class around group discussion rather than lecture. By engaging these students in dialogue, he really helps them connect with these important contemporary issues.

  • wow!!! Its amazing to see such aspiring kids having a voice in the ghetto!

  • jes we can...lol but i love it...

  • bus stop part was funny "YES I CAN!!!"

  • G-d Bless this teacher and G-d Bless all of these amazing students!

it would be great if we could track the progress of these kids.

do not give up your dreams! i hope all of these extraordinary young adults take the initiative and lead by example in their communities!

  • Hopefully he becomes president.... I think america would improve on so many levels.... Great class great teacher..

  • I think it's great that these students are discussing this. However, it seems a bit one-sided. Why isn't Hillary even mentioned? Why is gender completely ignored by teens from cultures who are traditionally male-dominated? It's a little too much like propaganda for Obama. Don't get me wrong--I voted for Obama, but this discussion completely ignores issues beyond race. How about class? Or religion? And it's still weird that Hilary's name isn't even said ONCE!!!

  • don't you feel anything for the students. They've changed. Who cares who the candidate is?

  • I think it's great that these students are discussing this. However, it seems a bit one-sided. Why isn't Hillary even mentioned? • Great video!!! Great job Mr. Shafer!!! Let me tell you, if Brazilians could vote in the US elections, Hillary and everyone else wouldn't stand a chance against Obama. By the way, Obedyn you are real cute...

  • good stuff

  • To Mr. Shafer: You are the kind of teacher that changes lives. The students may be inspired by Obama, but YOU opened their eyes and their minds to him. To the students in this video: Keep following your dreams, because YES YOU CAN!!

  • Yes my friends, follow the mjg19999 advice. Always check authority. Too bad people resent such invitations but it's for your own good.

  • The thumb-down on mjg19999 shows that people in general don not like the invitation to go behind the curtain. The very idea to check authority resents them. Please, follow mjg1999 advice. Do that. Ask questions. Don't believe the hype! The teacher is GREAT! I was once in a same situation.

  • Wow, this video made me cry. I'm not too much older than these students and just to see them moved really makes me feel like there is a chance for a future in America that can function beyond race.

  • see where the camera past through my block

when it starts off a corner

    and keeps going? BECK STREET!!!

  • i agree with the kid at 2:45, it would be sad if people think of Obama as a black man. He is just a man and if he were white would things like this video be occuring, is Obama's morals enough to make him president without being black. It would be taking away from him as a person if you vote for him because he is black.

  • how come when can't have teachers like him in all schools

  • OBAMA MEANS CHANGE. It's not just that his life story gives people goose bumps, it's that Obama represents real shifts from politics as usual. Most of the problems in our democracy arise from officials being accountable not to the people, but to wealthy interests. Obama is not taking cash from these rich tycoons. He has always worked for the people, and he will continue. Through his presidency, Obama would build on his legacy of promoting equal access to the democratic process for all Americans.

  • very good to see

  • This is awesome! Props to Mr. Shafer and his students. Well edited video, too. Nice job!

It has been said before but warrants repeating, "If you think education is expensive, try ignorance."

    ~Derek Curtis Bok

Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.

    ~William Butler Yeats

  • Since when has our youth EVER been this supportive of a presidential candidate? If it wasnt blatantly obvious before it is now: Barack Obama will be our next president. Im convinced of it.

  • Amen!!!

  • man we need more teachers like this that aren't scared

  • at 59sec ii noe dat gurl lol jus felt like sayin dat

  • I want Hillary to win so I could obtain a Green card:)

  • We need a lot more teachers like this guy in America's classrooms.

  • In response to this video i have a few things to say. One, it is unfortunate to see how our country is going. Obama is Part of the CFR, and if any of you want to know what that is I would love to explain just email me. Mccain is the same along with hillary we are in trouble people and i have facts jsut email me

  • I am 56 years old. This is the first election that I actually see hope for real change!! If we do not elect Obama for presicent, then we will only have more and more of the same old, same old. Obama will bring peace and equality to America. Obama...2008!!

  • This is so wonderful!!! I am so excited to see and hear such wonderful and articulte young people speaking on race. I think and feel as they do that Obama has alread brought change to this country and he will be our president

  • wow...i think this video is very inspiring...

growing up in the bronx and seeing how the schools are...this school shows that there is hope in some schools in the bronx...

i go threw racial discrimination daily and watching this video shows that a change is being made...and hopefully Barack Obama makes the biggest change....i love this video.

  • I think a lot of people are missing the point at least these kids now have an interest in politics, in the US, in the world. IT does NOT MATTER who they support just that they are interested. They have Hope and feel good about themselves. Read an article a few in the class support Clinton. I want them to have faith in themselves and know they can be someone. I live in the Bronx I know how they feel.

  • holy shit thiss school changed alot cuz i went to that school when i was in kg

  • I'm amazed! Obama has moved a group of high school students to become aware of racial issues. I think that it is powerful and extrodinary for a group of students to sit down in a classroom in New York and talk about how they feel on a sensitive topic. This was very interesting and big ups to that teacher, he seems very knowledgable and so do those students. When Obama becomes president he is really going to make a difference and live Martin Luther King's Dream.

  • Obama has been a really big impact on these students which makes me smile because I get tired of hearing negative comments about him that people can't even prove. To move a group of high school students is powerful and extraordinary and I really do hope our world changes when Obama becomes president.

  • when i was in the 10th grade my high school had a week long discussion on race because there were alot of racial issues. alot of students stood up and gave good speeches like obama. it made our school better because people voiced their opinion out loud. i myself stood up and gave my comments, it was a little scary but it made me more confident about the people around me.

  • As a native New Yorker, I find this video VERY inspiring!

  • Extraordinary!!! This dedicated & wise teacher & his students demonstrate the impact Obama's historic message of hope & positive change has had already. Just imagine the power of Obama's message once he is President--not only in our troubled cities but throughout the country & the world. I've sent this link to many many colleagues & friends--hope you do too!

  • the young genaration its going to unite, and start a civil revolution because obama clinton u any republican candidate, never going to solve all the problems, should i said they (the system) created ,and for that they only play the finger on u face,so forgeth about race they acting like race its an issue bull, they want u to keep u separated, and this teacher here its playing alone with the system, before any race issue u better talk about liberty and freedom wich its o ready lost

  • i have a serious question, hopefully someone knows: what does Obama think of Ron Paul? i'd like to know cause Obama was my 1st choice to vote for but I recently started to learn about Paul and he is really good too!!

  • wow. I've never felt so touched in my life... wow... this is beautiful.

  • very well done.

  • I think this is a beautiful thing you all have done. Keep up the good work and don't let anyone change your mind. Yes We Can!

  • I must say, even though i disagree with the bias in this video, i was rather impressed with the rhetoric and presentaion of the young man in the gray sweater. even though i think he should broaden his readings and learning of more than just Obama and democrats before choosing his party affiliation (or lack of), he shows great prudence and i respect that.

  • Race is and will always be an issue! It's just not out in the open as it used to be. 80% of all people voting for him look at the outside first then the inside. I can't help but wonder if they saw Hillary's point of view as well? I have and I lean more towards Hillary however if she doesn't win my vote goes to Obama. However I don't think Burack is all what he claims to be. He's a black man raised white! I can't help but wonder if we all need a little white to be recognized!

  • excellent stuff. will smith was 100% right when he said "we take one look at the skin and we figure we know just what's underneath" which is a very true statement. as a white guy people assume i love all of america including the government and the policies, and that i hate arabs and muslims. no. im Muslim myself and i disagree with many policies in the united states currently being employed. the poitn im getting at is, everyone faces racism so everyone should unite against racism!

  • I love that these kids were not just inspired by Obama's speech on race but saw themselves in it.

The Obama factor represents a paradigm shift in American politics.

Instead of the usual politics of "Us" (whites) verses "Them"(non-whites) we have a politician who recognizes we are Americans who are in this together.

    Yes, WE Can!

    FINALLY!!!

  • We need more teachers like that and less pedophiles and perverts for teachers.

  • Spanish girl had a funny accent

    Jes ve can!

    Cool accent though D:

  • i wish every student could have a teacher like this who will encourage these kinds of discussions. it's so great to see these students being engaged in this election and the effects it will have on their lives.

  • Great vid!!! To Marc1a i totally get what ur saying. and this was not a ballenced conversation because they all had the same views and it seemed like that because of the teacher. Dont get me wrong i agree with the students and im an obama supporter but i dont think the teacher gave the student insite on the other candidates but hey i could be wrong.

To the students in the vid and every where els, keep fighting for your future and remeber to THINK FOR YOURSELF AND QUESTION AUTHORITY! -PEACE

  • THERE IS HOPE!!

  • YEAH, YEAH.....any way we (latin people) are more handsome and prettier!!! haha

  • That guy is a wonderful teacher, seriously. I really wish I had him for an instructor.

  • This is beautiful. There truly is HOPE for future generations and Obama is a catalyst. I am so glad I watched this.

  • Lots of schools should send in their vd's ..this is a wonderful class and a tribute to their teacher for opening their minds to think beyond

  • a wonderful teacher, great topic, these kids are very bright and articulate. I hope my 6 year old has a teacher as in tuned with the world as this one. kudos

  • The dude who gave the delegate count is cute.

  • Great video. I also was teary eyed watching it. I am honestly surprised to see any students discussing news and politics intelligently. I am surprised and delighted by these wonderful students. I believe there are politicians, journalists, and ambassadors sitting there in that room! Yes, they can!

  • About how difficult it must be, for example, to know little or no english when you go to school. I've never had to go through that, because english is my first language. So it's hard for me to imagine, but hearing Elisa's speech made me think about all of that.

  • Wow, this video really gives me a lot to think about...

  • For those of you who disagree, think of it this way. What if a Hillary supporter, only showed stories to the class of her best speeches, work w/women's issues, her support in the Latino & Gay community? Would that be a balanced conversation? Would the point of views from the students be a little different? There's definitely a place for this conversation in the school room, but it needs to be fair, challenging and tolerant of other views.

  • If Hillary made a speech as powerful as Obama, then I think there would be people discussing it, this class primarily. But since a 'race' debate would never be brought upon Hillary or McCain, I doubt there can be examples of race relations within a classroom regarding Hillary or McCain.

  • i completely agree. it is good that they are being exposed to politics, but the teacher should never sway them to believe that one candidate is better than another. He needs to educate them on ALL the sides, and let them apply that knowledge and choose who they think is best. I didn't even hear them talk about Republicans or any 3rd party. Obama is not the only person running. This is completely biased.

  • How do you know he didn't show them a video from each candidate? We only see a 5 minute clip here, lets not make assumptions. From what I've seen I think this man is an INCREDIBLE teacher and wish there were many more like him.

  • What I find frightening is not that the kids are engaged in the political process but the lack of balance and the openly partisan nature. It's seems that it's the teacher's point of view that's taken on a form of group think.

  • "Bi-Partisan" - "Two Parties" (ie Republican and Democrat). Obama and Hillary are both Democrats. The adversarial silliness that we see within the one party shouldn't be encouraged.

  • Respectfully, I think this is scary. Didnt see 1 dissenting point of view. Not even from the girls who you think would be inspired by a 1st female nominee. Towards the end you hear if Obama is elected, they'll start to hear good news or they'll feel safer...as if all the ills of the world will just disappear if Obama is elected.

  • You being "inspired" by the first female nominee... well, this really isn't an "issue". Is this the "view" that they are not being tolerant of? It looks like you as a Hillary supporter are being judgemental and intolerant of their views. You are "inspired" because she is a woman. Maybe they are "inspired" because he is of color. Are you intolerant of what inspires them?

  • I am a native New Yorker, and unless you've grown up in that environment of the bronx, you won't relate to them. The subject began about race relations, not who would make a better candidate or preference of male vs female. The subject was race. You would have to be in their shoes, really to appreciate the heart of the conversation. I lived in the bronx. The classroom doesn't underscore the city, but 30 yrs later, a recognizable population.

  • Sure, Obama's election may result in not meaningful change. However, electing Clinton would GUARANTEE the status quo and business as usual.

  • These kids will not always have this teacher. What is important is they are interested. Hopefully they will continue to be. They said they are discussing the election that means all the candidates. Not all are for Obama (they were interviewed). Their world is very very insular, some I bet have never even left the Bronx. One teacher who teaches in Harlem said her students had never been to Central Park (which is where Harlem starts/ends). I am a black woman and I say race trumps gender.

  • Stop watching the news. Read the newspaper and be selective about what you read. Hope is alive and the Dream is continuous. Think and speak intelligence.

    Great teaching!

  • I don't support Obama, but this is a good video. This teacher reminds me of the teacher in Freedom Writers. Plus he's gorgeous. Gooooo Jackson!!

  • now if these cats can bring harmony and awareness to the band of moronic racists on Youtube, the world would be a better place, the possibilities!

  • Teachers rock!!!!!!!! People like this are a great add for paying teachers REAL salaries. I HOPE that when Barack becomes president, he will implement some real salary changes for teachers. How awesome to see kids being a part of the political process, understaning more about the voting process than most adults I know. WOW, this is great. God bless you Mr. Shafer WOW, WOW, WOW

  • An incredibly inspiring video! What these students expressed gives me inspiration for the present and hope for the future, and kudos to Mr Shafer for being an educator who encourages students to express themselves, not only from the head but also the heart. We can change the world by first changing ourselves, and as Margaret Mead said "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." Despite failures, yes we can!

  • This video with these young people inspired me about our country in ways I haven't been in years.

    Thanks!

  • America needs Obama!

  • good on you teach, you are a rare breed of person.

  • Coming at a time when we are mourning the 40 year anniversary of Dr. King's assasination, this video shows not only how far we've come as a nation, but also how much we might achieve in the next generation. A white teacher and a black presidential candidate inspiring latino, asian and black students to look beyond the limitations of race, as well as to truly understand our (complicated) democracy is an astounding feat that would not have happened 40 years ago. The dream is still alive.

  • This is awesome!

  • This is a wonderfully inspiring video and I was in tears while I listened to these children talk. My daughter taught in an elementary school for two years in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx, and all that she experienced there left me feeling very down and hopeless. Thank you to this teacher and I hope that this video is shown world wide as an example that children can take their lives into their own hands no matter where they live.

  • Thank you for sharing with me. I'm an educator in Chicago, and at times, it gets discouraging. But showing how every moment can't be wasted and that our little ones are listening to our every word. Thanks for giving them a voice. Now. I will continue to listen to their every word!

  • Obama's helping us see the change WE all need to make for this nation to advance. All the answers are contained internally but we've been to blind & divided to see them in the past. This man's clarity & impact is beyond words.

    Obama 08

  • I am so moved by the words, interest and directions of our youth at Bronx High School. What is even more inspiring is that they know and believe that they have the power to impact others in a positive way. It's teachers like Mr. Shafer that effect the lives of the next generations in a way that we all canbenefit. It is a great feeling to know that a difference is being made for the betterment of all man kind.

  • wow is this a real classroom, or was this set up cuz thats pretty good.

  • What an inspiration these students are! This touched me so deeply to see them get it and to hear them speak from their hearts, minds and souls. As I write this a tear is falling because I have always believed in the good of our youth. YES WE CAN; YES THEY CAN AND YES WE ALL WILL TOGETHER! Thank you Bronx students for you can inspire and give hope to all. I love you all!!

  • I wouldn't mind meeting Sylvia ;)

  • Wow! What a great teacher! I totally agree with what he says -- that educators should consider addressing racial issues within the schools. Instead, we all tiptoe around the big elephant in the room and pretend it isn't there.

  • cool teacher, bad sweater

  • This shows that all students are capable of reaching their full potential, with the right atmosphere, a desire to gain knowledge and dedicated teachers like Mr. Shafer. Too many kids are dropping out of school because their priorities are in the wrong place, they get caught up in the wrong crowd and most importantly, their parents show no interest in their academic future. Good job guys. Keep it up. You have a bright future ahead of you. Click on "ramotringo" and enjoy my inspiring Obama videos.

  • wow that was a really incredible video. im going to show this to my a.p. economics/govt. teacher, she'll love it. nice job

  • lame.

  • New York City needs more kids and teachers like these.

  • Thanks for sharing - refreshing

  • you are the voice

  • woww just...AWESOME! !

  • I wish people like this great teacher would understand that the only way to even put a dent in the social desparages in our country is to educate people about family values and the value of all private citizens getting involved in the effort to fight poverty, bad parenting, unplanned pregnancy, ie, trying to stop the perpetuation of negative social behavior. Electing congressmen and presidents who promise to appropriate other people's money to fund social programms is the problem.

  • This is so beautiful. I am in awe of this teacher and these students. Too bad the voting age is 18, because these students KNOW what is going on!

  • omg that video was so inspiring and uplifting I completely agree with EVERYTHING that video stands for

    Obama 08 President

  • This is why I can't wait to be a high school teacher. Kids have so much energy that could be directed toward thought, hope and passion for themselves and the future, but few people tell them this (or know how to reach them). I remember all of the teachers who inspired me to think, hope, and believe that I could do many amazing things. I am so ready to have the credentials to be able to give that gift back (1 more year!!) :)

  • cool

  • good video. inspirational.long

  • Obama for president 08

  • That teacher smiles way too much, but it's probably a good thing.

It's wonderful to see what are normally the most apathetic of apathetic people getting involved an interested.

Even a video about Obama bringing in new people stirs wonderful feelings in me. He'd be such an excellent leader. It doesn't take experience, it takes inspiration. He wouldn't launch two unsuccessful wars after a terrorist attack, he'd have the towers rebuilt and show how the terrorists accomplished nothing.

  • My very first comment horray !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great teachers know how to bring out the best in their kids. What a wonderful role model! To this teacher and his students and great teachers and awesome students everywhere, YES you can. Keep up your great work!

  • he got a good point

  • We need more teachers like 'Mr. Shaffer'. Obama 08'!

  • Pure inspiration. Shows the change that has already begun as a result of the inspiration breathed from the most inspirational man of our generation.

    Inspiration...lol.

  • yes we can all day

  • Bravo my friend, bravo.

  • so very, very cool.

  • THIS IS WHY a president needs to be able to inspire people.

THIS IS WHY Obama's speeches aren't simple, empty rhetoric.

THIS IS WHAT LEADERSHIP IS ALL ABOUT!

    IDEAS, JUDGEMENT, AND INSPIRATION.

If you want policy, read it on his website.

If you want to be inspired TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE, listen to his speeches.

THIS IS THE PRESIDENT WE'VE BEEN YEARNING FOR.

  • i don't like obama...but i loved the video for these young peoples opinions. Loved the teacher for showing that people don't talk 'white'. good questions and great answers. good job guys n gals.

  • I live in da bronx. Castle hill

  • The teacher does not instill brilliance in these kids; that is not the job of a teacher. Instead he's encouraging them to recognize and reveal their own beauty. These students see someone who is running for the highest office in the land. This person has a conversation with us when he speaks; he does not talk down to or at us--like so many of our politicians of the old guard do. So they're encouraged to have this conversation and share it with you fellow Americans...TBD

  • To be brilliant, poor, and Black or Latino is not a contradiction. This is not an anomaly either. Bronx children are well aware of the fact that America views them as 2nd class citizens. I happen to be a young adult from the Bronx and I see myself in those students. There are so many forces that scream "No, you can't!". Somtimes they even reside in your own home, or in the mind of your state politicians, school superintendents, and often, your own teacher....TBD

  • I meant-to be continued!

  • Barack Obama's potential for good, and actual good, among populations such as the students in this video should be a powerful incentive for the rest of us to do all we can to elect him. It is young people who will make or break this nation in the final analysis. I thank them for their honesty, and I commend their devoted teacher. Lets' hear it for Obama! YES,WE CAN!

  • Inspiring!

  • what a smart kids specially the teacher he is a good roll model for those kids and for the rest of teachers keep it the good work God bless you guys

  • Proof positive that ordinary people can pull together to do extraordinary things! Barack Obama, this fabulous teacher and these exceptional young people are not only inspiring change, they are the change in action! Their positive message transcends demographic divides and serves to inspire all of us to become better people and to work together for the greater good.

    !!! YES WE CAN !!!

  • Thats why I love New York City.... The diversity!!

  • Excellent! Inspiring!

  • WOW - I hope Washington and America in gerneral is watching and listening to their youth. This was LOUD. Obama has brought hope to our children and nothing is more valuable than that. He has caused our children to think outside of their respective boxes regardless of who they are, where their from, what they are or how wealthy..they now know there is a chance for a brighter future. Thank you Obama for your ideas of change and hope... YES WE CAN!!!

  • Thank you for sharing this video. Terrific teacher, terrific students. You are an inspiration. No matter what happens in the election, don't let these ideals go and don't get discouraged. You ARE the future of America and we believe in you.

  • Thank you Mr. Shafer and his beautiful group of students. We all need to listen to the youth of our nation. This should be seen by every educator, this is the real message of "no child left behind."

  • What an amazing Video. I am Canadian and I identify with these kids, I had no interest or hope for politics anywhere until Barack Obama. He is the hope for our world.

These kids have so much to say and this was very inspiring.

Great job! I have to admit I teared up a few times, to think of how Obama has affected so many people, it's overwhelming.

And what a great teacher to inspire these kids as well.

I think everyone should watch this video.

  • Lovely kids, lovely message!

    Obama!!!!!!!!

  • Ill amen to that brother. Im glad to see intellectuals instead of the ,mainstream violent and drug abusing young black americans.

  • Is it the same knucklehead every video that goes in and give thumbs up ratings to every single positiveObama comment? And thumbs down to any of those who are not Obama positive? hahah McCain 08

  • That's beautiful. I almost cried.

  • Word. This video should be screened in highschool classrooms all over the country. Let's send this to all the teachers we know.

Yall are inspiring for real...! Thank you for making this. YES WE CAN!

  • I think this represents our younger generation. The teacher also, was fantastic. As a whole, it shows you don't have to be living in mansions, coming from rich backgrounds and you don't have to be 'high brow' and elite. You need someone who is fresh, inspirational and determined. Someone who understands the right ideas, and doesn't change their mind to get a few extra delegates. He is truly inspirational. Barack Obama is the future for the United States of America.

  • Makes me want to be a teacher! Thank you Mr. Shafer! It's people like you who make this world a better place to live in, one day at a time, one class at a time, many students at a time! May these students' enthusiasm and ambition spread like wildfire! It goes to show you that it's the media and not people that make things worse than what it really is!

  • This guy is awesome and so are those students. That's our future right in that classroom and every classroom across this country America!

  • i am so proud of these bright young people. if you let the media tell it young people in the inner city are destined for failure...they are destined for greatness once they realize it is possible. obviously their teacher has helped them see that.

  • Beautiful! Just beautiful. Thanks to that great teacher for inspiring these kids. What a great group of kids.

  • JES WE CAN!

  • 2:54 to 3:19 says it all. That is what I have believed for a long time.

  • I love this.....This guy is an excellent teacher, hes getting these students to be aware, we need more teachers like this guy....teachers who really care about the kids of the future.
