  • Bob is the best!!! :D

    Respect from chile

  • I did presentation few weeks ago about the Ethio cultures and traditions.

I showed this music vid to the whole class in comparison Teddy’s work to Bob Marley’s and they loved it.

i'm habesha but i still don't know what lambadina mean. is it amharic? can someone tell me what the meaning of this word is?

  • @0mikeet my mother told it means flash light

they used it as a metaphor

  • @theloonygenarl Really? THANK YOU SO MUCH!! in what language?

  • @0mikeet Amharic

  • @theloonygenarl i've been in Ethiopia for about 16 yrs and i've never heard anyone using that term. Thank you for your help!!

  • @0mikeet

I think Lambadina means kerosene lamp or light and i beliave he is using the word as metaphor, meaning light or guidance, he is saying since i am blind, you are my sight, or my eyes. you see even the girl is holding kerosen lamp.

it's only a guess. i don't speak habesha and i am somali and even in somali we say the kerosene lamp "lambad"

i adore ethiopian culture and music.

  • @mugglezone wow now i get it !!! thank you so much!

  • @0mikeet lambadina means "light" it is the general meaning but the direct meaning is like candl or if you speak amharic "Kuraze" or "Mebrat". i myself understand the meaning after Tedyy's albume.

  • @0mikeet

Lambadina is a battery torch...it is common word in the northern part of Ethiopia.

  • @hagayta Good to know that. Thank you!!!!

  • @0mikeet Lambadina means lantern in Amaharic. The song is basically about a blind man who is in love with a girl and she becomes his lambadina that light up his world. cute:) Great song btw!

  • @0mikeet lambadina means light its tigringa !!!!

  • @0mikeet lols i asked my mom and she told me it is a lantern.

  • @0mikeet

Teddy is a very talented great musician winning admiration & compassionate love from the hearts, minds & souls of millions of people all over the world.

It's great you have a good time ENJOYING Teddy Afro's joyful beats & exceptional moving music.

BTW: "LAMBADINA" is an Italian word for "Flashlight", commonly used just as ordinary brand name, just like you would say "BMW or Mercedes" for German cars.

In this music's lyrics, LAMBADINA is meant "the source of bright light".

  • Teddyy!!!

  • bob el mas grande en todo el mundo

  • just discovered teddy afro watching the africa unite documentary, wish i could fing the lyrics to translate..anyone?

  • The song pretty much says that bob Marley even though he has died will never be forgotten and even though he was born in Jamaica he as made Africa stronger and much more well know through his music. He preached peace. And taught people about Africa. Thats pretty much it. Too much to translate word for word.

  • bless ethiopia and teddy

  • Sounds like Alpha blondy..

    But l like it alot!!

  • im a eri but teddy is somethin else....bab bab marley damn des song gt alot of memories teddddddy keep on doin ur thang*

  • I know I cannot make such a harsh comment about certain people without explanation. First of all according to the Quran you cannot make friend with a Jew, as they are cursed by Allah due to historical events. Secondly how many people, and especially 'black people' can you see convert to Jewism? Dont start with the bulshit about Ethiopians as Jews, the confused Ethiopians as Jews were accepted by Israel only so they could be used as Soldiers and die in front line, dont believe me? Have a look at

  • I have a suggestion, why dont we make a change, your government with the ignorant norther a.k.a 'Somaliland' and all those other confused people struggling for 'FREEDOM'. And we (Djibouti, Sool and Sanaag, north west of Somalia) and the civilized people of Ethiopia, so we can cut to the cake. Focus on the things that matters, which is unification of Africa, peace and stability and ofcourse economic wealth. As a muslim I have nothing against Christians, only Jews. So you are welcomme :)

  • @HABON87 i wonder y you guys are very obssesed about Eth. don't you have any music form your country :) i'm just wondering y you listening your maid's music hahahahha. BE CIVILIZED! instead of talking about other country's business, clean your mess. See ya

  • I however miss, my two Habesha housemaids from my place in Djibouti. Nice Habesha people in Djibouti, searcing for the dream life outside Ethiopia. As a fellow African and neighbour I have to advice you Ethiopian citizens to grab your government and make them focus on finicial prosperity and health in the country instead of war\ and misery and the millions of Arm support to Somaliland and all the other tribes in Somalia. It is your money being spent and your greatparents blood - just saying.

  • MrRustenburger - at least, we dont stay at one place and starv to death, we follow the nature and food where it goes - as we are fittest to surviive : ) - thats the best thing with being a nomad, even today in Europe I'm using my natural skills as nomad and working my way up. I was actually in Addis Abbeba this summer on my way to Djibouti and I bet that all the poor people outside the airport strips could use some of those somali nomad skills. No harm meant just replying to your nasty comment

  • are you serious, Thats Bob Marley's son, Ziggy Marley

  • You can see picture of surviving Herero people after their escape through the Omaheke desert on wikipedia - Scramble for Africa. My country was divided between three countries and still today affected by their ruling and governance of SOMALIA. They not only created injustice in my country but gave away great parts of my country to Ethiopia (Ogadenia) and to Kenya. How can another human being be so evil and decide about the fate and future of my country?

  • @HABON87

Your greater Somalia is nothing but a dream. You can't claim every land the nomads visited.

  • The fact that European countries not even apoligised or compensated Africa for their rape and genocide of Africa is a fact of how racist the white people are. I mean when Hitler killed Jews in Germany, the Jews got their own country and the Hitler men sent into prison. WHAT ABOUT AFRICA AND THE COLONIALISM WHICH STILL AFFECTS AFRICA?

  • Germany one of the many countries exterminated the Herero and Namaqua peoples of South-West Africa as one of the earliest attempts at genocide in the 20th century. In total, some 65,000 Herero (80 percent of the total Herero population), and 10,000 Namaqua (50 percent of the total Namaqua population) were killed between 1904 and 1907. Characteristic of this genocide was death by starvation and the poisoning of wells for the Herero and Namaqua population who were trapped in the Namib Desert.

  • my friend im with you all the way but i think its because this was a long time ago and almost all the countries were trying to colonize and expand, they were to worried about beating eachother they didnt care, hitler was when the world was calming down with expanding, so ALLL eyes were on them. you know? fucked up huh

    <3

  • so u disagree your govermen.. it was good to hear. but i don,t bleave it. i think u r just saying it becouse u could do something maybe say that u desagree in media . tell the world that u desagree then maybe they can do samthing to stop it.. but it was good to heard that u desagree

  • u know i like this song then i remember that who,s singging it is ethiopian suddenly i hate it, resson why is becouse ethiopian don,t feel anything they are just like animals kills who ever they see that he is not stronger then them. like somalia where i,m from they are killing us and do what ever they can to take our land they don,t respect us as african or as neighbors or we look like most of other africans so i would thell the ethiopians to shame there selfs and think like humans

  • reply to govinda8900
