VAL KILMER JIM MORRISON

I like Val Kilmer and his talent. But, I think my complaint isn't about Mr. Kilmer. The script and direction of this movie for the story it represented is all wrong. Some truth is in it, but the spirit of the very man is left out entirely. I don't think the director understood that there was a kindness, deep seated, in Jim Morrison. Any nitwit born in the mid 70s like myself can tell that with just watching the interviews and listening to conversations which Jim Morrison was recorded in.

As a vocal impressionist who loves to sing Doors songs, I was skeptical that anyone could play a convincing "Jim" when I first heard about the movie. My college friend, Billy Hopkins, ended up casting the film and made the perfect choice. Kilmer really embodied a lot of Morrison's looks and moods. Even his singing was pretty decent.
