And does Steve Morse play a Strat? Does he have the Blackmore sound? Of course not. Wanna know why? Because it's absolutely pointless to copy someone/something 100% per cent (even if you're a tribute band). Actually he's not our guitarist any more (and the current guy does play a Strat), but Jordan Rudess of Dream Theater had no problem with his sound when he played keyboards on his latest album. ;-))
Sorry, but I'm a Purplephile, and believe in authenticity, especially of the 1st MKII line-up. Your drummer should have a jumbo silver sparkle ludwig kit, with oval glasses, and a wig. The guitarist can put on a warlock hat. Shaygabay!
To my mind, it would be more like a fancy-dress party or a masquerade. I think that kind of stuff is for Elvis imitators. Deep Purple was never about looks and style, it was all about music! In the beginning our drummer did have the oval glasses and the pirate's shawl (or is it called 'bandanna'?) on, but he never felt comfortable in that 'costume'. If you look at me (I'm the vocalist), I show quite a few similarities with Ian Gillan and Glenn Hughes in looks, but this is my natural style.Cheers
This band rocks! "Ian Gillan" is great and nails the notes! Although the band plays with a bit too much distortion imo but other than that GREAT performance.
You mean our own songs? No, we don't write music collectively, we just cover Purple stuff. We have a lot of CD's and DVD's with our versions of DP tracks, though, if you're interested. Just check out our website.
Yes, we have more and more relations to Deep Purple, but we could never open for them because we play Deep Purple! ;-)) Once we were asked to open for Glenn Hughes and Joe Lynn Turner, but on one condition: we cannot play Deep Purple songs. This March a dream came true, however, when Jon Lord decided to make us his backing band for his Hungarian and Slovakian shows of his legendary Concerto for Group and Orchestra. Currently there are arrangements for another tour of Eastern Europe this Autumn.
Die Beste Deep Purple Cover Band, die ich bis jetzt gehört habe! Großartig! Alle Musiker der Band, gehören in die Profi-Liga!

Your guitarist is not playing a Strat, and dosen't have the Blackmore sound. Better than nothing, I guess. Lay off the goulash.

Hi there,

Take care.

Thanks a lot, Scarface. ;-))
Yes, our ex-guitarist was into metal things a bit too much... Now we have a bluesier player with a more classic sound.
Thank you for the vocal compliments, too.
"Ian Gillan" ;-))
