    Greetings from France

  • Most of the Polish troops were actually Lithuanians, especially the ones that gave their life to protect the bridge over the Berezina.

  • @caligrame Majority were Poles. Of course some of them had lithuanian origins. Alomst all lithuanian nobility and citizens of big cities were polonized. Idea of Poles as nation was born during time of Commonwealth. Example of that is Pilsudski. He had Lithuanian origins, but he was Pole. That's why there are so many Poles around Vilnius even now. One is sure, Lithuanians have complex about Poles. You are always trying to prove that Lithuania was stronger part of Commonwealth.

  • Thanks to poland from France

  • vive la grande POLOGNE

  • Vive la Pologne!

  • Colonel Jerzmanowski and his fellow Poles were a part of the Elba Squadron, but there wasnt enough Poles to form an Independent unit, that is when Elba Squadron was absorbed into Colberts 2nd Chevaux-Legers, Lancers of the Imperial Guard, becoming the regiments 1st Squadron.

They fought well at Ligny, and also took part in Ney's mad untimely attacks till 7pm, but were in vain as they were beat by English Cavalry, batteries of belching fire and iron squares of Allied Infantry.

  • Vive l'Empereur! Vive la Pologne! Vive la France!

  • Another moment of bravery from the polish people and army was at the time of jean sobieski against the muslim !

  • "800 Poles would equal 8000 enemy soldiers."

    - Napoleon Bonaparte

    Vive La Emperor! ! !

  • renommée empereur!

  • 3) When too unsteady fortune, When blackest of treasons. Together misled courage of our grand Napoleon, He made, when depositing the weapons, some concerning good-byes to the French. And one saw spreading tears in the eyes of the brave Polish lancers.

  • "Dla moich Polaków nie ma rzeczy niemożliwych" -

"For my Poles, nothing is impossible"...

    -Napoleon Bonaparte

    jaime cette partie

  • What they sing? I understand only la Pologne if I'm not wrong. xD

  • Yes it's the song of the Lanciers Polonais, the Polish Lancers.

  • 2. Sans regrets, quittant leur patrie,

    Pour Napoleon, ces guerriers.

    Vont jusquaux champs dIberie,

    Cuellier des moissons de lauriers.

    Partout où lhonneur les apelle,

Ils volont tenter des hauts faits.

    |: Et partout la gloire est fidèle

    Aux braves lanciers Polonais. :|

  • Could you translate the whole song to english? Please?

  • In cold Scandinavia, the hero's name resounds.

Suddenly subjected Poland rises for Napoleon.

He had broken the bonds of these friendly people of the French.

And France, among its brave men, counted the Polish lancers.

  • Without regrets, leaving their fatherland

    For Napoleon those warriors

went to Iberian fields to gather harvests of laurels. Everywhere where the honor calls them, they want to try important facts

And everywhere glory is faithful to the brave Polish lancers.

  • 4) Napoleon, with a crying soul, told them in this cruel moment: " Turn over in your fatherland, Go, I cancel your serments". He believed, in his sad asylum, to be followed only by Frenchmen, But he still found in his island Polish lancers.

  • 5) You Poles, who take part of our noble days of glory, God must finally take care of your destinies. But even if you're in trouble, Friends, we will never forget that we had as brothers in arms the brave Polish lancers.

  • God bless You !

  • Magnifique.

  • nice

  • 5/5 great work Stonewallmatze !!
