@Katkootahmed With any electronic device there are always some units that have problems. But in your case you had problems with it within the first week. Archos provides a 1 year warranty, so if it was a problem with the device and not due to physical damage then Archos would replace or repair it.
@sigelectronics I've read lots of user reviews of this product on a web site and a lot of these people bring up the same issues that Katkootahmed mentioned, so I don't see why you feel the need to sugar coat this product, just because you're selling it.

This is pretty close to what I want, just the processor is weak and I would prefer a touch friendly overlay on windows 7. This is almost a tablet that may actually be useful.

As for ipads, the word "app" is just an Apple gimmick for "software". And you can get a lot more software for an archos running Windows than for an ipad...
@nojyt its just my opinion...dont get me wrong, The archos nine looks like a cool gadget, but its basically a laptop without a keyboard, and less memory/storage. but with the ipad, the fact that you can actually download apps (thousands of apps) is a big pro. the archos 9 pretty sure has a lot of apps too, but not very useful- just like a regular laptops apps.

I'll take a Windows (or Linux, or even Mac OS) computer over that any day. Now if you don't like a tablet over a laptop, that's another matter.

REAL OS HERE! You can install any productivity software IE< Vegas, Acid, Dreamweaver, any video editing software, I just would like to know why is multitouch important at all. (seriously what use does it have?)

Seems to be a very good product however, I wouldn't say its unlike anything available on the market. Also the Windows 7 interface isn't confortable to use with a touch screen even if Microsoft adapted it to accept touch, the interface itself remains almost the same since Windows 95. I'm not saying its bad but I think that the desktop interface isn't apropriate for such use.

the ipad however, is different with the different apps.

As for ipads, the word "app" is just an Apple gimmick for "software". And you can get a lot more software for an archos running Windows than for an ipad...

@nojyt its just my opinion...dont get me wrong, The archos nine looks like a cool gadget, but its basically a laptop without a keyboard, and less memory/storage. but with the ipad, the fact that you can actually download apps (thousands of apps) is a big pro. the archos 9 pretty sure has a lot of apps too, but not very useful- just like a regular laptops apps.

@galdhrone234 Let me try another approach. 99% of apps in the App Store make farting noises or reveal the secrets of the Kama Sutra. Even if you consider the serious apps out there, you cannot find apps with the functionality and depth of Windows software. And you are always restricted to apps that Apple deems "suitable". I'll take a Windows (or Linux, or even Mac OS) computer over that any day. Now if you don't like a tablet over a laptop, that's another matter.

@Basshinzu yes, windows does use apps- short for "applications". applications are like skype, wmm, google talk, internet browsers, ect. programs are a whole different thing.

A couple of questions:
Is it a multi-touch screen?(Like for pressing Ctrl-C on the on-screen keyboard)
Is it a REAL computer? (Im a 3d modeller and artist, will I be able to download GIMP2 and 3DS max onto here and use them)

@FRAGNITION im an artist too yes this is a tablet pc it does everything a computer does the only difference is that software has to be downloaded or transfered to it via thumb drives. Hope this helps!

To Apple fans, Any net book is an ipad killer. Apple fans clearly love limits and cheesy apps.
REAL OS HERE! You can install any productivity software IE< Vegas, Acid, Dreamweaver, any video editing software, I just would like to know why is multitouch important at all. (seriously what use does it have?)
THIS HAS USB ports: Scanners, printers, flashdrives, keyboards, editing docks, dvcams

Seems to be a very good product however, I wouldn't say its unlike anything available on the market. Also the Windows 7 interface isn't confortable to use with a touch screen even if Microsoft adapted it to accept touch, the interface itself remains almost the same since Windows 95. I'm not saying its bad but I think that the desktop interface isn't apropriate for such use.

he doesn't mention things that would make this suck.. i.e. boot up times? lag? crappy screen (resistive) and you can't even really trust the video he shows because it is obviously showing windows XP as another user pointed out. How does it REALLY run Win7?
I would have to see an actual hands on with the thing starting from the turned off position. preferably one not done by a company spokesperson.
