  • man, that pilot sure is a dumbass

  • Just a small piece of trivia, the guy who ducks down behind the glass at the end is George Lucas

  • who realised that at 4:06 its a picture then after the explosion it becomes 3D o.O

  • NOW THIS IS PODRACING!

  • Thank you for posting this. I went to Disneyland last weekend and was bitterly disappointed by the new version of Star Tours.

  • @klee7609 yes. only 2 of the five or six star tour movies are good

  • this one looks like it took more effort to make than all 11 other films that they are using on the new version of the ride. They should have kept this one along with the others

  • this was so horrible. disney should not have star wars. if your a fan of the movies, this ride makes NO sense at all.

  • @supersonicmike1 yes it does. what are you talking about

  • Where on earth did you get this???

    Thx so much for posting!

  • thanks for the post! now, i know what to expect!

  • why did they Decomission the Star Speeder 3000?

  • is that pee herman doing the voice?

  • Star Tours!

    What are you doing here!?

  • how can i get a copy of this???

  • how can i get a copy of this?

  • Back when shit was done for real.

  • I remembered riding this when I was little. Awesome ride

  • I loved this one better than the new shitty one. D:

  • @moopMASTER2000Films You must gone to that Wookie planet and Naboo- those are boring. All about Hoth.

  • @Lavarinth Huh?

There's different versions of the ride film? O_O

  • @moopMASTER2000Films You mean you don't know there's over 50 different simulations (combinations) when you ride the new Star Tours!? Yes!

  • @Lavarinth Oh wow. More waiting in line for me. o.o

  • Fun times! I went on this ride at Disney World, it was awesome.

  • Yay Thanks For The Upload :D

  • well I can check that off my bucket list. Flying with Pee Wee Herman!

  • pee wee herman lol

  • never gets old LOL!!!

  • 2:36 - ITS A TRAP!

  • 04:21 - It's a hit? Negative, negative. It didn't go in. Just impacted on the surface.

  • select Full Screen, turn off the lights and watch with one eye, thru a small opening of a closed fist, it's fun!

  • @cmsahe it looks like 3D!

  • best ride ever ...RIP star tours ....rip

  • This is one of my fave rides, me and my brother use to get off and get on again 4 times we did this lol, this ride and body wars were me fave rides:)

  • They should have called this the "Star Wars Holiday Special" Ride.

And the announcer sounds like Pee Wee Herman.

  • @MiHiVidz he's voiced by pee wee

  • @LOZmaster85RB Was hard to tell. I didn't hear any fapping noises going on during the narration.

  • @MiHiVidz fail :P

  • @TheHarryMason Yes, this ride is Fail.

  • @MiHiVidz LOL thats a good one

  • lol..cockpit.

  • 4:48 It's a little known fact that the man behind that desk is GEORGE LUCAS!

  • @TakeFiveProduction Not true.

  • @edduhduh It is. I was there a couple days ago and one of the cast members told me that it was when I mentioned it.

  • @TakeFiveProduction Would you believe that same cast member if they told you the moon was made out of cheese? It's an Urban Legend they tell the tourist. Then when they're back in they're break room, they laugh at all the gullible people who believe the false story. THen you'll go and tell someone else and when they go to Disneyland and ask the same questions you did, the cast member is laughing their ass on the inside, because the joke keeps coming back to them.

  • @edduhduh But I saw a video where he said it himself too... thats my 2 to your 1. But you know, what would he know about a part that he played? So I guess he goes in the break room and laughs at all the gullible people who believe the false story. Give me proof that it's not true instead of you telling me that i'm wrong over and over again. I'm actually telling you where I got my proof!

  • how did u find this???

  • Comment removed

  • I only went on this ride because I love Pee Wee Herman :)

  • what's the song that starts at 4:34 ?

  • @starkiller1533 When the Falcon takes-off from the Cloud city

  • @darthverm Ok, thanks.

  • is that george lucas at the end?

  • is int that the voice of pewe hermen

  • he always says its his first time. once i went on it 3 times in 1 day and he said the same thing...

  • did u guys know that the person in the control window at 4:49 is George Lucas :D

also the voice of rex the robot pilot is peewee herman :D

  • @derrago That's actually not true. It's a common misconception that has been widely reported. He's one of the designers of the ride who worked for ILM (if I recall correctly).

  • @derrago That's actually not true about George. It's a common misconception that has been widely reported. He's one of the designers of the ride who worked for ILM (if I recall correctly).

  • sitting at my computer desk now i still feel the shaking of the simulator as it hits the comets and teh tractorbeam's shake as well as the light speed pulling me back to my chair :] awww... memories

  • it says 1986. I was under the impression that Star tours cam out in 1985

  • Watching this made me smile.

  • that, what 30 seconds of a space battle (after tours eased off the main thruster) was better than the whole prequel trilogy

  • @dismemberednecromorf sooooooo soooo true...

  • Comment removed

  • @FreakDaMIghet It's been debated that this is the Death Star III

  • @SoCalCoaster521, Correct. It is labeled on Wookipeedia, (The best collection of Star Wars info there is) That it was the short lived idea of the empire to try one more time to make a Death Star, but as you can see, it was a failure.

  • @FreakDaMIghet They tried AGAIN to make a Death Star? Didn't the last two times teach them anything? Especially since this Death Star has the exact same design flaw as the first one?

  • @ExplorerDS6789, I could imagine the conversation:

Worker:"Alright, sir. We began construction of your new Death Star."

Officer:"Good...does it has a giant hole for them to fly into this time?"

Worker;"No no no....we scaled the hole down so no ships can get in."

Officer:"Um...exactly..HOW big is the hole now?"

Worker:"Um...about 2 meters...not to worry, sire. Thats no bigger then a Wamp Rat..."

Officer:"YOU FOOL!! If Lord Vader were hear, he would give you such a strangling...." CA-BOOOOOOM!!!!

  • @SoCalCoaster521 If this is Death Star 3 then the Empire deserves to be taken down by 4 xwings...they still haven't fixed the exhaust port!

  • @FreakDaMIghet I Think the story happens at the end of Star Wars 4 (a New hope), your ship ends near the Death Star by mistake (or because the stupid captain robot..), and then you just see the battle from another point of view. Thats what I think but not sure.. And in the end, you never visit Endor, damn! I want a refund!!

  • @Orejo, It IS the Death Star 3. It says so on Wookieepedia. I thought it was Death Star 1 when I first rode it too.

  • 4:48 Hi George Lucas!

  • Acording to Wiki, C-3PO will be piloting this ride, onboard the Star speeder 1000.

  • RX-24 is returning for the new ride, but it's unknown whether or not Paul Reubens will voice him again.

  • 1:40- No, no, light speed is too slow. We're gonna have to go...Ludicrous speed!

  • @ExplorerDS6789 No, no, lludicrous speed is too slow. We're gonna have to go... Chucknoris speed!

  • @drewster077 The whole universe would explode!

  • @drewster077 stop.

  • @ExplorerDS6789 the Star Ship Enterprise can travel 2 times the Ludicrous speed.

  • @sideslide23 And your evidence of this is...what? When did Kirk or Picard ever say it could?

  • @ExplorerDS6789= Not cool enough. We're going to, Ludacris speed.

  • @ExplorerDS6789 I'VE GONE PLAID!

  • I've been on that, kinda cool, but the damn robot is a bit obnoxious.

  • Lol.. the pilot was voiced by pee wee.. lol

  • STAR TOURS!!! What are you doing here???

  • This brings back some really bad memories. Got REALLY MOTION SICK on this thing!

  • Still better than Phantom Menace

  • @groggdawg cus it looked more real! :D

  • @groggdawg

You're still not an actual Star Wars fan.

  • Today's secret world is "YEAH". When someone says it, scream real loud!

  • they dont say my favorite line in the old one. =(

    Comets? COMETS!

  • Now if only I can download a motion simulator program to sync this film to the motion of my office chair.

  • Thanks for uploading this for memory keep sake since Disney is going to change this ride

  • Yeah.... those ice crystals sure were a bitch in the star wars series.....

  • The Breaks are that red button that says "BREAKS"

  • What the hell?? Captain Rex sounds nothing like Jango lol

  • i've been on this ride so many times i found myself leaning with the video! i'll miss seeing the mighty microscope when star tours 2 opens.

  • 4:44 TANKER!!! That's it REX. You're finished. Understand? YOU"RE FIRED! You'll never fly shuttles ever again! I'll have you assembling cars at General Motors in the morning!!

  • that was crazy

  • Figure I should save this in case any other footage of Star Tours 1 vanishes off the face of the earth...

  • WOW! How you have this is beyond me. I LOVE IT!

  • I wonder if they'll put this on DVD soon.

  • Awesome how did you get this?

  • This was my first ever ride at disney land

  • I will be posting A HD ride on I filmed A few months ago, Stay tunned, Check out my account.

  • Fun fact: @ 1:29 you can see on the right side a ray gun looking thing. This is the laser that turned it's riders into molecules [I believe the ride was called The world of Molecules or Molecule Man]. George Lucas decided to cameo it because it was the ride that was decommissioned in the same spot Star Tours opened and replaced in Disneyland.

  • @theaznfishy the attraction was "adventure thru inner space" presented by monsanto. the "ray gun looking thing" was called the mighty microscope. it always seemed strange that they chose to use a microscope to miniturize people when it's true function is to magnify or enlarge things. as for the name of the attraction, you're probably remembering the song "miracles from molecules" which played in the rides exit lobby. i'll bet it's somewhere on youtube.

  • i have this on dvd i love watching it with my star speeder 3000

  • i have this on did i love watching it with my star speeder 3000

  • Awww, we're gonna miss this...but it SO needed an update!!

  • This so brings back memories. :D Sadly i wasn't able to go to Disney before they close down my FAVORITE RIDE! So this is a nice treat to at least remember the good ol days. Mind you, I'm curious about Star Tours II...but if it's just going to be about pod racing... Please, show me the exit. xP

  • I still get a kick out of George Lucas' cameo at the end, when we almost crash into the fuel truck (that's him picking up the phone after ducking under his desk in the booth).

  • @un1k3n thats not George Lucas it is Dennis Muren who is one of the three ILM's that worked on the ride

  • @joshprenger Most research points to it being George Lucas, including what I was told by trainers when I worked at Disneyland. However, Wikipedia does agree with you, but I have ridden Star Tours hundreds of times and, contrary to the Wikipedia article, there are not three people who duck, just one (unless the other two were edited outin postproduction). IMDB lists the ducker as Ira Keeler, another ILMer. We'll just have to agree to disagree on this one.

  • @un1k3n Two different "ducking" scenes...

The one at the end of the attraction (most often attributed as George Lucas) is Ira Keeler.

However, when you drop into the maintenance bay and level out, check over to the right side of the film (1:26). You'll see a control room with three people reacting to the "lost" StarSpeeder -- Dennis Muren is part of that group.

  • Its strange - when I watch this I can still feel the movement and jolt from the ride. I've been going to that ride over and over ever since it came out at Disneyland California. One thing that quickly got annoying was the PEE WEE HERMAN ROBOT. You want to kill that robot. I really enjoyed the little robots working on things while you're waiting in line. Sadly even in 2003 that ride was falling apart. It was dirty, things weren't working and the robots were all covered in about 3 inches of dust.

  • people cry about it, this one has been playing forever..... it needs a upgrade

all good things have to come to an end

  • 2:46 IT'S A TRAP!

  • Interesting. The audio in this video is so clean that I can hear sounds that didn't come out very well in the ride.

  • This was so kick-ass! I love Star Wars and Disneyland!

  • the brakes! the brakes! BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKES!!!. lol cant stop screaming when it was goin down.

  • such a good ride!

    thanks for uploading

  • This was made on the exact day and year of my birthday! I LOVE this ride!

  • I love the original. The new one looks like absolute crap. Just a bunch of crappy CGI and junk. I love the old FX of the original ride.

  • Nope everything is geting redone. This ride will no longer be around. They might have a CG one thats like it. But Rex is gone for good :(

  • I remember this ride blew my fuckin mind when I was a kid, but its been over due for an update. I'll miss the old ride but I'm looking forward to the new one !

  • por dios que nostalgia, yo fui a este juego de chamaco

  • 1:15-1:30 gives me an adhreline rush.

  • Can't wait to get to LA now, three more weeks! Victoria hasn't been since she was 11, so this should be fun now with teenagers! I am most excited to see family again! LA or Bust! Here we come!!

  • ah. memories. i miss this ride. i only rode it twice when i was 8 but that was epic. i need to go back.

  • 1:27-128 it sound like when they say the secret word of the day AHHH!!

  • what year did this ride open its so old school looking in there good ride tho!

  • @neilam6 1986 i think

  • hey! that's Pee-wee hermans voice! In all these years it has never dawned out me that's Paul Ruben voicing the robot.

  • would be nice to see this placed on the eventural bluray set, since the ride soon will be no more.

  • Yep, it's Paul "Pee Wee Herman" Rubens.

  • I rocked back and forth in my chair as i watched this. Somehow it didn’t feel the same :(

  • How did you get this??

  • this ride is fun.

  • @Prototpye342 it is peewee herman wow he stars in star tours wow...

  • its so weird watching this and not moving

  • What's so great about this ride is how real everything looks! I feel like filmmakers should go back to using model and motion control effects. CGI is just them being lazy. This film/ride is simply awesome because it looks so real! and now they're taking it away to replace it with the new. God damnit it just makes me mad. I'm hoping and praying they keep this part, but sadly I can assume that it'll be gone for good. Shit ;(

  • Don't forget, all the pieces for model making and all the equipment needed for all the motion control effects costs a fair amount.

While with CGI, though it's a lazy way out is cheaper. Granted it may not be the same as models, but at least the budget is easier to work with.

Plus technology has changed so much over the years, and it's only going to keep on changing.

Mind you, I'd like to see Film-makers using a bit of both CGI and Models than all CGI.

  • @jivio I know some films do use both models and CG. Best example would have to be Independence day. They utilized both models and CG and though the movie is considered ass, the special effects were by far the best for its time.

Nowadays, you can instantly pick out what is CG and what isn't due to the cartoonish/polished texture at times.

For the record, I know they allow the stories to be told, but sometimes the story is more reachable when it looks more believable. That's just my take on it.

  • True, then again the CG may looks the best thing ever but the story could kind of suck.

As I've seen in many reviews of the Star Wars prequels from YouTubers, it seems that special effects come before story and character development.

  • @jivio I agree with them. Don't get me wrong, I still do enjoy the prequels, but they were somewhat lacking the realistic look that the originals had.

  • I overreacted I just wish they would build a separate ride cause this star tours has those cool effects that the original trilogy had one of the last ones but whatever.

  • theyre just turning one more thing we love one of the last things! and turning it into some new age kid friendly ride. Kids need to see this original ride and the way Star Wars used to be

  • @scumtriedtoknifeme

They're not replacing the old ride, they're just adding a new one. People have the choice between both rides.

Besides, the next Star Tours doesn't look "kid friendly" it looks awesome!

  • As of now, Star Tours II will NOT be offering both the new adventure and the old "Flight to Endor" ride. This may change in the future. however.

  • dammit! I hope your right

  • @SoCalCoaster521 Ah, you are right. However, the podracing sequence looks fricking awesome.

  • @SoCalCoaster521, I'm Going to The Version of Star Tours of My Own, It is Called Star Tours: An Kingdom Hearts Adventure! I'm Gonna Put Captain Rex (AKA RX-24) Back in His Place! Instead of Endor, He'll Take You to Disney Worlds Like from Tinker Bell, Spongebob, Song of The South, Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie and More Where The Grand Duke of Owls, Vidia, Pete and Other Villains Chasing Down on RX-24 Thru Out Disney Worlds in The Hong Kong Disneyland and Disneyland Paris, I Came Up With!

  • @TheAngryPepe That sounds awesome! But maybe for the KH feel, you should do the original worlds.

  • @SoCalCoaster521 So which is it? Is TheRPGPlayer wrong? There is no choice? Did they close the old Star Tours at Disneyland? I've been seeing comments it closed in July. Your film had the best sound. You can't make out somethings on others. And great picture. I just wish that somebody filmed REX give the turbulance warning and filmed the TV monitor with Luke Skywalker and R2.

  • @SoCalCoaster521 That's cool, but I SWEAR to God in Heaven, if the new pilot is Jar Jar Binks, I will protest the ride.

  • @SoCalCoaster521 I have a bad feeling about this.

  • that is a load off my mind

  • @TheRPGPlayer

Sorry man but you're absolutely incorrect. They are replacing the classic Star Tours with a new film and que.

  • @TheRPGPlayer how could it not be "kid friendly"? its not like they're turning it into a huge steel rollercoaster, it's still a simulator

  • @sakanafish501

Well, when people say "kid friendly" it's like they're trying to say the ride is for babies, which it is not.

  • @TheRPGPlayer hmmm..... well yeah.

  • @TheRPGPlayer

ummm no. They are replacing the ride from top to bottom with a new Star Tours attraction.

  • @TheRPGPlayer From the d23 video i just saw, it is my understanding that the old ridee is leaving, and that there will be no option to choose. if they do build an option, where would they build it? A new building and show takes at least two years to construct.

  • @TheRPGPlayer

    They are replacing it.

Star Tours will be no more

  • is captain rex's voice actor...peewee herman?

  • Yes

  • @SoCalCoaster521 i didnt know pee wee did this

  • @Prototype342 Todays secret word is..... DEATH STAR!!!!!

  • @Prototype342 Yep. :)

  • @Prototype342 RX is voiced by actor Paul Rubens, best known for his character Pee Wee Herman.

  • @Prototype342, This....is crack....

  • dude will you try to find the soarin video

  • I actually love this ride. the place is just like an airport! long lines though

  • Wonder what the lines are gonna be like before it closes for refurbishment. This ride is definitely a classic at this point and while I'm excited about the change, I'll be sad to see it go.

  • perfect video thanks for your precisions !
