Well the goddess didn't even have a plot it was like save a race, stop a demon lord and resolve past friendship disagreements than hey im the final boss the mana goddess that had nothing to do with all the other missions of the game.

@lfish87 You are wrong about that. The Goddess had a plot and served a purpose for being in the game. The key is what she says, the word "Love". If you played each story didn't you noticed that each mission/quest was a form of love which has gone corrupted. That corruption flows into the tree, the Mana Goddess and the Tree are one, and any form of corruption and evil in turn causes the Tree and the Goddess to become evil as well. I can't explain everything here, but Love is a power that corrupts

@muscularmouse It's actually hidden in plain sight. When you beat the game once, start it up again, new game, and when you're in your house, go to your library. Check your books for something called the forbidden tome, I think. It'll ask you if you something like "Do you want to have a nightmare", and then "Do you want to have a future". I think pressing no to the second one puts the game on no future mode. But... Just saying, don't do that. >___> It's balls over hard.

I always beat her before th eclipse happened, but I tested to see what she would do as an experiment. When the eclipse is full, she'll unleash a hellishly strong attack.

i love this song xD i had somenthing for a good challenge the game when i was at second playtrough. (no future mode) i have used wapons less then 80 power amors with a medium stats no magic (i hate that invencibility frame) i have used Evade or moonsault (it´s almost impossible to evade her fullmoon spell without it, only if use any especial move or "luck" when she use it´s xD) was a bit hard to defeat her and was very epic '-', but irwin was the hardest when i did this.

Well, the Goddess doesn't neccessarily go insane, it's jsut the evil will of so many had corrupted the tree. SO essentially what you see is her pure evil form.

The underlying theme behind the Legend of Mana was that Love is the most beautiful thing in this world, however, it is also a dark and powerful force. Love is the cause of a great deal of happiness, however, love is also the cause of hatred, and thus, all wars and conflicts. The point the makers of the game is that love and hatred are not opposites, but two sides of the same coin, and that both are important and should not be lost.
