Global socialism is the enemy of the day. Laissez-fair free trade is the vehicle it is riding on. If we loose our freedom, the cause won't be liberalism or conservatism it will be globalism. As we deindustrialize the country, folks will look to government for help.
Make the announcement you are moving offshore, bet on the bump your stock will make, as the result of cheap, unregulated third world labor. A few profits but most looses. Is that liberalism?
@louiethegreater Socialism is not a bad thing if you understand it in the context of social evolution. Feudalism, Capitalism, Socialism....What is the difference between socialism and monopolistic capitalism? Both have stagnation, both have concentrated capital, both have limited consumer choice...
@spenglerX I believe we have made a mixed economy work for years. Someone has to care for the, disabled, the sick, and needy. I think the problem is deindustrializaiton, inskilled jobs leaving for Asia.
@louiethegreater I agree but appears to be a natural progression for heavy industry to outgrow its home and move on to more profitable zones. England experienced this in the 80s and Japan in 90s. I guess we will see how post-industrial countries respond and change.
@spenglerX I totally disagree. How could you believe that multinational corporations moving a hemisphere away and using cheap asian labor to manufacture, and than shipping those goods back to us is a natural porgression. Do you also beleve globalization is a natural progression. How about bussing students in the 1960 as a natural progression. Sorry I cannot agree, globalization is about as natural as an Eskimo merrying a Polar Bear.
@louiethegreater If it is unnatural why is it happpening? Its the natural flow of Capital through market divisions and difference. If you follow capital development it is easy to see globalism has been in action since the industrial revolution through varying guises. Why is it difficult to understand that large business structures can and will outgrow a national border? The scope of their operations demands the freedom of movement.
@spenglerX It is happening because it is being forced on the global population. It is not natural to manufacture in one hemisphere and sell the products in another. The coersive element in that, is the political process of globalizaiton. Free Trade has never existed and cannot exist as long as there are nation states. So the political process of globalization, is being carried out by the corporations who benefit most from it. Ask the question, does society exist for the expansion of the corporat
@spenglerX Average people do not want to run corporations, but average people do have the have a voice in a democratic republic. They have the right to demand tariffs on goods manufactured by cheap third world labor and shipped back to the U.S. That activity alone is a job killing, economy killing practic. Tariff are allowed by the constitution and all the founders were protectionist. Free trade is a theory, that has never been implemented anywhere in the world.
@louiethegreater Mankind has never witnessed something with the productive capacity and organizational infrastructure that post modern coroporations possess. Power no longer sits solely or even largley in the laps of nations states, that is an obsolete concept, and globalization confirms that every time there is a G8, G12, and now G20 conference.
@spenglerX You are saying black folks do not want to live in black neighborhoods. White folks do not want to live with white folks. Chinese do not want to live in Chinese neighborhoods, rich folks live in gated neighborhoods. You are saying that these folks do not want to choose where they live, and they are being coersed into their lifestyles. Now the natural process of globalization must occur in order stop such behavior. Nationstates serve the same purpose as the neighborhood.
im trying the cash only thing but society is trying to eliminate cash. It almost seems that tv is trying to make it seem that people who use cash are criminals and low lifes.
Trying the cash only? That is the only smart way...who cares about what the tv is trying to make it seem like....the tv makes it seem like americans buy a new car every year too...(and the dummies do ..that or they are actually wealthy).
@ORPHANWORKS How do you cash a check. I do not like to use banks either, but if one recieves checks, say as a self imployed person, I couldn't get a check cashed. Even the banks the checks are written on would want 5% to cash the check. Finally I just re-opened by old account. I had a 8 thousand dollar check from a out of state bank buy a local guy, he even had his address one the check and still they made me sign all sorts of wavers before they would even allow me to deposit it.
@ORPHANWORKS Seems like the banks have been assigned the responsability of keeping track of our finances than serving their origional intent. Remember when the ACLU sewed them for privacy violations, and accused them as being a tool of the Justic Department.
The contrast here is amazing. In the States, CNBC is 24 hr a day neocon propaganda. However, the overnight intl. show actually has people that occasionally tell the truth.
Demos, traders provide vital liquidity for the system. What the hell are you talking about? They are taking their own risk with their own capital and if they lose money, only they lose money. Go read a book. People like you are the ones that are broke in life, in money, love, and mentally!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Traders and those who make their money by shifting money are criminals and cowards. they create nothing except misery, and then hold their hands out while sticking the knife in our back. They are taking this country into the ground.
I've said nothing of the sort. please don't put words in my mouth. I have no problem with any specific religion, and I have never said that. I have nothing but respect for anyone who shows it. The banking system is controlled however, and not by jews, or W.A.S.P.s, or any other culturoethnic group. These are all definitions that have been created to divide us. I won't try to convince you, however I would ask that in the future you abstain from putting words in people's mouths.
