It's funny how people are trying to explain this ending to themselves in light of the sequels (C&C 3 & 4) when those should just be disregarded. The new games completely screwed up the lore of the games.

I think you are a little wrong there. Democracy is, by definition, "a form of government in which all the people have an equal say in the decisions that affect their lives". That's straight from Wikipedia. If you have an "elite" group and a "mass" group, then it isn't democracy, because "elites" have different rights, and more "decision power" over the rest. To have a democracy, a real one, we al should be the mass or the elite. There shouldn't be any differences.

Definetely better than Command and Conquer 3's Nod ending. Command and conquer 3 was a great sequel but the endings were rather inconclusive and kinda ruined an otherwise promising storyline.

I think EA took bits and pieces from the original plot written by Westwood. The Scrin believed that Tiberium would destroy earth's civilizations so they could harvest in peace. However, Kane's experiments were trying mutate people so they can survive in a Tiberium infested world. That means Kane was preparing for the Scrin's arrival. He's ensuring that humans can survive to fight or possibly join the Scrin. That was probably CABAL's goal too.
@moorsalin3 Well actually the Phildelphia station you see here is the same one that appears in Command and conquer 3 :) The GDI campaign in Tiberian Sun is the true ending but then later in Command and Conquer 3 Nod does finally succeed in destroying it :)

It is a reference to the Land of Nod, which in the Book of Genesis is a "land to the east of Eden," and the place Cain (Kane) chose to flee after murdering his brother Abel. According to Genesis 4:16 - "And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden." I figured it was a pull from the Bible, so I looked it up a few years back to see if I was right, and I was.
Kane is one of the best villians in the history. Like for me he can be worth oponent for such guys like Joker from Batman and Megatron from Beast Wars.
@kvn8907 I don't think it killed them. The World Changing Bomb was supposed to convert all life on Earth from carbon based to Tiberium based, so all of the humans would now be Mutants or something close to them, assuming the weapon didn't inadvertently kill everyone.
@Savior20061 Perhaps. It never really shows what happens to the people, just the planet. If the video took another 5 seconds to zoom in on a city to see what happens (everyone dead, everyone changed, or every non-mutant dead, etc) it would have really cleared it up.

I think EA took bits and pieces from the original plot written by Westwood. The Scrin believed that Tiberium would destroy earth's civilizations so they could harvest in peace. However, Kane's experiments were trying mutate people so they can survive in a Tiberium infested world. That means Kane was preparing for the Scrin's arrival. He's ensuring that humans can survive to fight or possibly join the Scrin. That was probably CABAL's goal too.

@moorsalin3 Well actually the Phildelphia station you see here is the same one that appears in Command and conquer 3 :) The GDI campaign in Tiberian Sun is the true ending but then later in Command and Conquer 3 Nod does finally succeed in destroying it :)

It is a reference to the Land of Nod, which in the Book of Genesis is a "land to the east of Eden," and the place Cain (Kane) chose to flee after murdering his brother Abel. According to Genesis 4:16 - "And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden." I figured it was a pull from the Bible, so I looked it up a few years back to see if I was right, and I was.

@kvn8907 I don't think it killed them. The World Changing Bomb was supposed to convert all life on Earth from carbon based to Tiberium based, so all of the humans would now be Mutants or something close to them, assuming the weapon didn't inadvertently kill everyone.

@Savior20061 Perhaps. It never really shows what happens to the people, just the planet. If the video took another 5 seconds to zoom in on a city to see what happens (everyone dead, everyone changed, or every non-mutant dead, etc) it would have really cleared it up.
