What frames per second are you playing with? i have the same processor and an HD4670 and im playing mw2 on Maxed out settings with 60+ Fps all the time maybe drops to 50fps in big shooting actions

hey i think i know what your problem is. do you have steam? if not you have to download it to play online! it also says on the back of the mw2 box/case near the internet connection reiuered so hope this helped!:)

depending on the resolution you're running at and the memory on your 9800 you should be good for high/max graphics, provided you don't mind cutting back on anti-aliasing.

I changed the settings to manual cos it was annoying me with automatic, all at high...anti aliasing at x2 and shadows off...god my PC has a fit with shadows, i dont know why and its not the graphics or anything its just my card hates shadows lol end of story ^_^

that sounds like a driver problem, update them, a 9800 should be able to manage all on high, shadows shouldn't be a hugh problem, try without the anti aliasing.

2 Gigs minimum if ur talking about high/max settings on games of now a days. because i ran cod mw2 with 2gigs before my upgrade and when i put all textures to extra (very high) i had a memory leak, without even MSN or skype or anything.. so every 2 seconds it would freeze for a second up to 3 seconds.. untill i put two things on high instead of extra (theres 3 options) and then it ran smooth, but preferably 3GB or more ;)

the game is mostly depending on Graphics Card. Your cpu is most likely will bottleneck graphics card, but it shouldn't be that bad. A Dual core or quad core is recommended.
