  • Mifflin County? Alot of accidents related to the West Mifflin Steel Works I'm sure.

  • :21 he going to roll over???

  • sounds like their tap dancing on the air horn pedals

  • @firefighter7494 Thats them "City Taps". A beautiful pattern.

  • are they rolling to an MVA? or structure fire?

  • i think it was a MVA

  • @AnthonyFireDept202 MVA the rescue was in front and the rescue is always first out the door to a MVA but i could b wrong cuz both rigs were rite with each other so they could have just loaded up and went but im pretty sure it was an MVA

  • It's ironic how the rescue clears traffic with just the Q and horn while the following unit has EVERYTHING going.

  • Rescue: Make way! Make way! Comin through!

    Engine: Hey wait for me!

  • SO HILARIOUS!!!

  • Sorry for being so thick, hph. Since they both are fairly classic rigs I couldn't tell which one was the one being used and the one that was retired.

  • I'm a little confused. You have 2 rescues numbered 15, right? I just saw the one in the other video which is the Mack/Swab, and now this Maxim, which I know has since been sold to a collector in NY State. Is one a reserve unit? If so which is which? Please clarify. Thanks.

  • the mack is there only rescue at this time, the maxim is gone

  • So there were two of them before, with one I guess in reserve?

  • they never had a reserve

  • I've been on other videos in the meantime and forgot about this one. So if there is only one rescue then the Mack (shown here) REPLACED the Maxim rescue, not supplemented it.

  • thats right

  • Thanks.

  • responding in tandem sounds so beautiful

  • what is that on the back of the sec engine?

  • its a raised hose bed cover

  • kool

  • they know how to clear an intersection

  • yes they do

  • Also according to Fire Apparatus Journal magazine, the Maxim has been retired to an upcoming fire apparatus museum in New York State.

  • sounds like a airhorn and normal horn combined

  • Rescue's horns are wierd. I like the engine' better

  • You wont see that rig duplicated EVER. Definately one of a kind I guarantee.

  • what type of air horn is that on the Maxim? I've never heard it before.

  • I think they had train horns

  • It's a standard two-trumpet horn that is also used by medium-duty GMC and Ford trucks. I had one like that on my Bronco II with an air compressor and a small storage tank. It was LOUD!!! but I had to take it off because every time I wanted to use it there was ALWAYS some old hag standing on the corner that would inevitably die of a heart attack if I blew it. It has a nice sound, though.

  • that's funny

  • Never mind. I looked it up on the web site and it's a refurbed Maxim/Gerstenslager(sp). One thing I liked about this video is that the Maxim is clearing everything in front of it with the just Q and horns while the truck FOLLOWING is using everything IT has. Very nice.

  • WOW!!!!! Is that first truck a Maxim?

  • Fantastic shot!

  • Awesome!!!!
