  • His real name is Epic Clapton =)

  • absolutely incredible

  • Put that guitar down and paint my house !!

  • clapton sounds pretty good with soldano amps.. he should have sticked with it

  • Well that's something you don't see everyday - EC in a hat! Great upload though, that intro is intoxicatingly good!

  • That's the smokingest intro I've ever heard from Eric, I keep coming back to watch it...truly inspiring now all I need is 50000 people and a kick ass band ;)

  • fucking awesome man

  • his fingers are playing so hot that the neck starts to smoke, i think

  • the big master of blues

  • Great solos in this :-)

  • cool hat

  • Clapton would have that Clapton tone and sound if he played a potato chip through a cracker box.. But I have to admit that for me the Soldano era was a close second to the Gibsons through the Marshalls from the Cream days.. I understand that he almost went back to the Gibson / Marshall set up for the Cream reunion but for some unknown reason decided to stick with strats & Fender twins. Sure would have been sweet! Maybe at some point the may pull them out again who knows, we can all hope

  • he was going to use the marshall but he said he didnt like the sound that was coming from the set up so he stuck with the strat and fender amp. he said that in the interveiw when asked to repsond on how the shows went. i love the RAH shows with cream

  • At the time he said also, that the volume was a problem as both he and Ginger (and maybe Jack, too) have bad problems with their hearing´.

  • @keithstrat Jack Bruce didn't use his amps and basses from the Cream days either. In the DVD Bruce (I believe) talks about how they practiced with the classic gear but it didn't fit their playing styles now.

  • Oh my 'GOD'. one of the best performances iv seen of clapton. proper fire in the belly giving it some. class

  • best crossroads version

  • Wow Clapton sure can play circles around everybody...

  • It appears that EC used - and still uses - a Samson wireless system which allows him to play freely without having those annoying cables under his feet.

He also used the wireless transmitter while playing acoustics on some rare occasions, but very often.

  • Lol, strawer, I don't think specialagentslowhand meant literally walking in circles around people while playing...

  • I really dig Clapton's Soldano period :) (though hate the leather pants and shiny emo-guitar strap ;) )

  • Clapton uses tweed Twins since late 1994.

He used a Vibro-King with Crash 1 and 2 from 2001 to 2003 and ran a couple of Marshall amplifiers in 2004 with Crash 3 and Crash 1.

  • Didn't he use the Marshall amps for his Leslie speakers?

  • Check the FAQs on Whereseric! for more details about EC's gear. You'll certainly find the right answer on your question.

  • what's a cig??

  • Cigarette ofcf xD

  • who cares about the cig..... Is he wearing leather pants??? ha

  • No. Is not a cigarette....

But he's got, and gods make a impossible apears easy!

    In porps. God bless all.

  • LOL

"hey WTH there's no solo fill there!"

  • Definately superior guitarist to Eddie or Jimmy and still better than Mr. Hendrix, they were all great but Clapton is the true Guitar God.

  • i liked this video :)

    looking for friends t8

  • I was there in Hartford for this show...somebody tossed the hat onto the stage so he put it on...seen Eric 10 times at least and never with hat on...it was a great show.

  • really?

  • lol! the cigarrete smoke coming off his guitar, thats great

  • thats not smoke from a cigarette

  • isn't it? what is it? i can now see smoke is all over the stage, but there is certainly a concentration around the head of his guitar, the optimal place to put a cigarette. theres a vid on youtube when he was in cream, there a cigarette on his SG at the same spot

  • its smoke from the fret board, hahaha. just kidding. yeah its a cig

  • lol :P thanks

  • ur right he still done that with his cigaretts in the 1990s

  • Thank you for sharing this, I'm from New Britain CT. I recently moved to CA for family and I'm a little home sick, then I saw this-

    Thanks again!!!

  • Wow Eric Clapton wearing a hat? I've never seen this before

  • if you watch the Crossroads Guitar Festival videos he wears a hat, but not one like this, this is perplexing indeed

  • had to watch this again..good job slunky08..I love it when he jams like this..and he looks so cute & sexy in that hat :-) ...and cool with the cig..God I love him :-)

  • Not the greatest guitarist technically. but certainly someone who plays with a lot of feeling.

  • geez that intro gives me chills...want to get up and dance :-)

  • Yeah, such a fun seeing him walking around like that.. And what a f... super-band. Phil Palmer (guitar) and Alan Clark (keyboards) from Dire Straits were in the band too.

  • THATS actually me in a hat....

  • this cigaret is so freaki'n cool, now he dont do this.

  • its really cool

  • absolutely shocking guitar work. love it

  • I've seen Clapton live too..so how does that change anything???? This is amazing!!!!

  • Excellent boogie intro.

  • omg absoulutely INSANE

  • damn! I can't believe he walked around like that. Thats so out of charcter for him. That is such a Buddy Guy thing to do!!

  • Please get your link off my kjack5-that is my youtube name just like slunky08 is your youtube name!
