  • could u just host with a ltx tagger

  • @vegito129 No. Only LTTO taggers can host. LTX taggers can only join. Nothing will make an LTX be able to host games. Sorry.

  • awsome i thought there could only be two players playing!

  • @arthurbulan Nope! 24 players for hosting games, unlimited for unhosted "LTAG" games.

  • probly the best laser tag system.

  • had these when i was in 5th grade

now im 15 and imkinda pissed i lost them.

guess ill get the light strike ones

  • @96biggo if you want to waste your money, sure. You'd be better off buying some used LTTO off ebay. I guess if you want a system that actively encourages cheating (team changing mid-game) and other achilles heel problems, buy Light Strike.

BTW: there will be new Lazer Tag brand gear out next fall, that is better than ever, and fully compatible with LTTO and LTX gear.

We don't need no stinkin' Light Strike! :)

  • @GregGaub i know light strike is not that great but i like the idea of added atachments and the medic drone.

  • @96biggo The concept is great, for sure. Execution, not so much. Most attachments are primarily cosmetic, or otherwise useless. Did you know that the "radar" (really just an IR detector with a single flashing light to indicate it saw something) doesn't work for other guns that also have one? So when you're not the only one that has one, it's useless. Everyone will want one if they think it will help, and then it won't help. LOL! But hey, it's your money. Have fun! :)

  • Can you also use the Pheonix LTX with these?

  • @Thecommenter83 yes.

  • Don't Thayer have glasses for that

  • @basscross511again Yes. This isn't a product review, it's an instructional video on hosting.

Besides, the glasses suck. They're not needed and they're uncomfortable.

  • thats cacox97s music

  • @0235568 What? All the music was from the iMovie HD software on my Mac.

  • Is there a way to host a game with a delxue and just host, not play with it ? Thank you

  • @laurentmasure44 Only Own the Zone and Respawn games are hosted by the tagger such that the hosting tagger is not also a player. All other games put the host as Player 1, or Team 1 Player 1.

  • wholy shit man thats the best video ive ever scene on youtube...NICE! IM SUBSCRIBING THUMBS UP

  • @thelogsterz Thanks, man. I appreciate that. I'm glad you found the video informative.

  • Thanks for the Info we spent ages trying to get these set up for the our local cub group this has really helped us so now they can have some fun.

  • ya i remember i had one of those the orange red one with the scope thing and detector for close enemies good memories but i had the pistol one my bro had the green faster reloader good times

  • where can you buy these guns and for how much? i wanna get 4 or so for my sibblings. To tag a person, do you have to hit the sensor on their gun?

  • @dcaplice1 Ebay or craigslist. $10-30 per tagger. Yes.

  • I used to have these but my friends borrowed it and broke it....

  • Where can i get a few sets of these

  • @matt19940209 AMAZON OR EBAY

  • where can i pick a few sets up?

  • what is the different with deluxe?

  • @eliteglitchkr3w What? If you're asking what different features it has, then google for greg's lazer tag page and go to the equipment page to read about all the taggers.

  • thanks for the video. i am trying to figure out if i should get team ops or the ones in the stores today. how do you host on the new ones or is it only possible with team ops, ps i live in oregon and notice you like transformers to so i have subscribed

  • @fuyingbro You need a Team Ops tagger to host, but the Phoenix LTX can join an LTTO game. Check out my video about the Phoenix LTX in Detail to learn how, or check out my lazer tag web site.

  • @ScalextricDigital i didnt see your video but i did see gregs video unless you are greg. and to bad the new phoenix ltx doesnt have the add ons like the one shown. since they dont make them anymore they go for way to much for my funds. i will either get the team ops or the phoenix that are selling in the stores you can get the new ones for 50 bucks for 2 of them. not bad

  • @fuyingbro LOL! Oops! Yeah, that was me. Forgot I was logged into another account. :) Keep an eye on ebay and craigslist for taggers. You can also find old Team Ops, usually Deluxes, at thrift stores from time to time. I've scored several cheap ones over the years at Goodwill. If you're trying to save money, and there's a Goodwill near you, it's worth stopping in regularly to rifle through the toy bins.

  • @GregGaub thanks for the info i just got four deluxe guns with googles and cords for 80 bucks on ebay. cant wait till they get here. i will have to check good will and all too that is a good idea

  • Awesome turorial!!!!

Thanks it really helped me and my bros!

  • i wonder if there is a host advantage.......

  • @TrevortheBrutal Nope. The host has the same stats and abilities as the other players. If you noticed that someone called out a rank lower than what the host got, it's because, well... that player really sucked, and got tagged twice as much as they hit, getting them a lower score than the host stayed which didn't get tagged or land tags..

  • @GregGaub its kind of a Call of Duty Joke thing

  • @TrevortheBrutal Ah. I'm not a fan of FPS games. I could never get used to the way you aim in those games. Holding a tagger and looking through a scope is much more natural and fun. :)

  • I have Phoenix LTX and this gun

  • That looks cool

  • i love these thing, i got 6 guns for a price of $8!!!

  • hey how match is it to buy??

  • @mekkie971 depends on demand. go to ebay and look. I've found them at thrift stores for a couple bucks a piece, but that's luck of the draw.

  • @macabron16 Hehe, trust me, plenty of teens and adults play in my club, not just kids. Check out my LTX Basic Training video. That guy is in my club, and comes to every game.

You wanna buy some? Ebay, dude. Also thrift stores, craigslist, garage sales, etc. Amazon too, but they're overpriced.

  • I used to have this Laser Gun, except, I lost it.

  • The pheonix LTX doesn't hav a screen so how can u join?

  • Watch the Phoenix LTX video and find out.

  • i want to know how goggles work :(

  • You plug them into the tagger, put them on, line up the tube so you can look down it using the mirror, and that's it! You should be able to hear the sounds and see the flashing icons.

Then, take it off because it's uncomfortable and never use them again. No one I know uses them.

  • do u really think people have this same gun?

  • Do you really think I just made this video? Check the date, dude.

But yeah, tons of people have this same gun, AND you can get them on ebay pretty easily.

  • @SnakeMaster353 i have this gun. me and my brother were just playing.

  • Do you think this laser gun is better, or the phoenix ?

  • I prefer the LTTO Deluxe, but the Phoenix LTX is a good tagger.

  • Oh, well, i got the phoenix LTX for 35$ so i cant go wrong with that :P

  • I can't decide! What do you mean by the Phoenix LTX is a good tagger? You have both LTTO Deluxe and Phoenix LTX. Which one would reeeaaally be the right one to get.

  • cool but you really need shootable armour

  • can you get a scope thing for the deluxe LTTO guns

  • Yes. The official ones are as rare as hens teeth, but you can rig up a variety of scopes to fit on it. I use a red dot scope with a cantilever clamp system made for weaver type rails. All I had to do was make a rut in the scope rail for the clamp bolt to rest in.

  • Amazing review(s) of this mate... sold me instantly on the product; this reminds me of my days playing laser tag as a kid! The shot blast attachment thing is something I would've loved back then, too!

Of course, stupid Amazon won't ship 'em overseas to me, so I doubt I'll be able to get one. :(

  • you guys should watch (getting sniped) its hilarious!

  • Why does the LTTO guns have light in their domes, but never ever light up.

  • The LTTO Deluxe and IRT-2X don't have hit lights in the dome. The LEDs you see are the IR LEDs for the lock-on, hit confirmation, and hosting/joining/debriefing. Only the LTTO TMB has hit lights in the dome. The LTX has hit lights only, no IR LEDs in the dome.

  • i pmmed you with 2 long questions. hope you can have the time to reply :)

  • I always reply. :)

  • just thought id let you know that when you get your rank you can push display and get info like how many time a player tagged you and how many times you tagged them ;)

  • Heh, thanks for that.

Yes, I knew about that. This video wasn't meant to be a completely detailed video like my Phoenix one, though. This was just meant to show people how easy hosted games are.

Did you know that during a game, you can see the team/player ID of the person to last tag you? During an Own the Zone game, you can see how much zone time you have gathered. On the Deluxe, if you do the right button combo, the screen will say "Let's Roll!" instead of Good Luck. ;-)

  • please could you tell me how to do these things =) cheers

  • most of it is on my lazer tag web site. there's a link to it in my profile page

  • thanks

  • Hey! i got the LTTO guns, its great fun, but there is one thing i'd like to set/know.

I want to program into all guns, that players that are just tagged, will be neutralised for a couple of seconds. How can this be set during a normal tag game?

  • The closest to that are the Own the Zone and Respawn games. In Own the Zone, each tag neutralizes you for 15 seconds. Kind of long for a non-Zone game, and besides, only zone time affects rank. Tags don't count for any score.

In a Respawn game, 10 tags neutralizes the player until they go back to the host to respawn for another ten tags. Also not the same as what you want. Scoring is normal in this game, though.

    You choose.

  • were do u get these laser tag guns?

  • ebay

  • Thanks for all the help:) i bought 3 team ops taggers, and will hunt for a phoenix ltx set in the future. I have one more question though: in lasergames here we wear a suit that registers tags...is the receiver dome placed on a gun also as good as a suit? Is it sensitive or do you have to fire EXACTLY on the receiver dome? Couldnt see this in any video or review:)

  • If the person's tagger (and hence the dome) is visible to you, and you are aiming at it, it will take a tag from over 250 feet away, even in the day time.

Yes, if the person turns around or is obstructed by something, and the tagger/dome is blocked, then it won't take a hit. People can quickly be flanked, and good teamwork always includes flanking maneuvers. We allow players to protect the tagger, but they cannot put their hand or anything on the dome while firing. That is cheating.

  • thats a good way to cheat. but easy to see when someone does that. And when he does, i claim my gun back and wont let him play anymore. I hate cheaters.

Thanks for all the info, you are even replying to a old video like this :) But its a good video, i already watched it 4 times :P

  • mmmmmh, im wondering if other tagger untis will work together since they dont all have a display. Can i for example use this tagger unit, with a phoenix LTX or a older unit?

  • Lazer Tag Team Ops and the Phoenix LTX Lazer Tag sets are all compatible.

They are not, however, compatible with older Lazer Tag products, like the ones from the 80s, or the black and purple ones from the late 90s, nor do they work with Laser Challenge or other lesser systems.

  • alright. correct me when im wrong, but i think it is the most wise to buy a set with all desame kinds of units. Because the Phoenix LTX cannot do as much as the team ops right? the phoenix can only support standard games? So its better to buy for example 3 team ops's, instead of 2 team op's and one phoenix LTX.

    is that correct? :)

  • Well, one of EACH type (3 diferent LTTO and one LTX) is best, but then people will complain that someone is winning because of their tagger. So, the other option is all the same, in which case you'll want all LTTO so that you can do the cooler games.

But, since LTX can JOIN all LTTO games, you could have just one LTTO, and 3 LTX and still play all the cool games.

  • man i wish i had the money for these plus i live in england so meh. LCV2 will have to do

  • If you have to use anything else, then V2 is probably the best choice. :) Too bad it's not available except off ebay any more.

  • by the way, have you got any tips to help me do good at lazer tag?

  • not for LQ, as I don't play it much. Come to my chat site. I'll put the link in the video description.

  • thanx very much for the help, and thankyou for your time. after your advice and videos i might try things like LTTO but still... i teally like laserquest. thanks for your time!

  • Or theres an esier way... just go lazer quest!!!

  • Easier, yes. More expensive too.

It's also a completely different style of play, so some people might prefer one over the other.

If you prefer LQ, by all means, save up and spend your money there.

If you prefer teamwork, tactical maneuvers, playing outside, not having to pay for every game, longer range, and more, then maybe give LTTO a try.

  • sorry, I live in england and i probabaly wont be able to buy them. however I once had a lazer tag gamebut it does'nt emmit a lazer.

  • most toys don't because LASERs are dangerous. Also, most of the indoor places like LQ only use them for effect. The real "shot" is by IR just like the toys. By the way, I know of a large group in the UK that uses LTTO, and an even bigger one that gets together yearly for some great LARP weekends using lazer tag for conflict resolution

  • THANK GOODNESS! Because i just bid on 2 on eBay, a green and orange, and it ends in like 2 hours, so thank you for replying so fast!

  • Question: Can a green and a brown gun be on the same team and/or play against each other?

  • The colors have no bearing on teams or compatibility. When you have big games sometimes it helps to divide the players by tagger color to help remember/identify who is on which team, but it's not necessary. So the answer to your question is, Yes. :)

  • 1. yes u can. 2. Walmart,Toys r us,Or ebay

  • there easy to buy

  • See previous questions and comments.

  • lol, nice name, there, slowlearner12.

Did you happen to read any previous comments? People keep asking that same question.

    ebay. craigslist maybe.

  • where did you buy it?

  • do they have them at wal mart cuz my friend works there

  • Not the ones in this video, no. LTTO is no longer in production, and can only be found on sites like ebay or whatever. sometimes a thrift store.

The Phoenix LTX set can be found more easily, but not necessarily at retail stores. It's certainly worth looking, though.

  • Few questions.

I bought the same pistols as shown here. Those are the Deluxe pistols right?

Also what makes a better host? Cause I got the tag master blaster also.

    What is a king game?

Do the phoenix work with a host game? If so, how?

  • Yes. Any LTTO, depends on the game you want. The TMB has my favorite, "Survival" (SURC, 2SRV, 3SRV). King games the score is based on tagging the King (P1 on each team). Also the King has no beacon for IFF data.

See my "Lazer Tag Phoenix LTX in Detail" video for how to join a hosted game with a Phoenix.

See my site at ggaub * com for more Lazer Tag info. Also has detailed guide on joining the Phoenix into hosted games.

  • where can u buy this?

  • ebay

  • what is better this or the phoenix? What has more range? What is more fun? What is more expensive

  • I prefer the LTTO Deluxe as shown in this video, but it's a personal preference. They both have the same range, but some people think the Phoenix has more. The Phoenix is probably more "fun" with the shot blast and recoil and stuff. LTTO is probably more expensive, 'cus it's out of production and harder to find. When it comes down to it, though, try to get as many as you can, both LTTO and Phoenix. :)

  • I heard they have 400 ft and have also heard they have 250 ft. Which one is it?

  • Depends on who you ask, what tagger they're talking about, and what time of day it is. In bright daylight, pistols will get over 250 feet, and the rifle over 600. After the sun sets and into the night, the sensors have less interference to deal with, and so shots count a a greater range, upward of 500 for the pistols, and 1000 for the rifle. some people say they're getting 400 with the Phoenix, but I haven't personally done range testing with it yet. I don't like the scope on it much.

  • hmmm sounds cool. These are all considered pistols right. what's the name of a good rifle?

  • yeah, all are pistols but one. The "rifle" would be the TMB, Tag Master Blaster, from the LTTO line. It's the one that also has a grenade launcher type thing. That has a bigger lens and tighter focus to double the effective range. Most of my hard-core players prefer the TMB.

  • thanks. I play airsoft so i am about the realism. Do you know the company that creates those m16 models and all that?

  • The more realistic gear tends to be pro/commercial outdoor gear where the cheesiest ones start at $400 per player, and the good stuff starts at $1000 per player.

Most people just paint their gear and call it good, but some have taken the electronics out and put them into airsoft cases. Once you have a good lens assembly, the rest is cake.

  • ounce you have hosted a game can the phoenix pick wat team its on if so how do u do it?

  • That is detailed in my "Lazer Tag Phoenix LTX in Detail" video, toward the end. Please view that, and post any questions you have as a comment on that video. Thanks!

  • ok thnx i know how now

  • can these old lazer tag guns work with the new guns that u have that u just recently reviewed?

  • Yes, they are compatible. The LTTO "LTAG" mode and the Phoenix LTX "Solo" mode are the same. Also, Phoenix LTX taggers can join LTTO hosted games. Please see my Lazer Tag Phoenix LTX in Detail video for more information on the Phoenix and its compatibility with LTTO.

  • thanks very much for the video.

but can u make a video about the tmb?

  • I don't have a TMB video planned, but I won't rule out the possibility. Note that I made the hosting video when LTTO was still available, and I made the LTX video right before it came out. At this point, most people who have TMBs already know how to use them.

  • lol a guy was like this is for you camera (fart)

  • umm... when? I don't remember that happening in this video. What time did that happen at?

  • at 3:11 listen carfully. sorry i didnt reply i dont look a my replys

  • ah. I heard it now. I know exactly who that was, too. He's a little turd sometimes. Perfect example of it. ;-)

  • if u would have the LAZER TAG MULTIPLAYER BATTLE SYSTEM, i can play with the LTTO?

  • Yes, they work together. please see my "Lazer Tag Phoenix LTX in Detail" video for compatibility information.

  • did u make it like this or did it come like this? REPLY PLEASE!

  • the taggers shown in this video are not modified. They do everything shown out of the box. What you're seeing is Lazer Tag Team Ops gear. The new Lazer Tag Multiplayer Battle System with the Phoenix LTX is different. Check out my other video for info on that.

  • great vid, wtg on holding ur cool w/ idiots and haters, btw I used to own the wow lazertag system it ruled but no1 could afford it so you played w/ 3 people lol, i just bought a set of the ltx for my nephew for xmas, and me kinda lol. ps i love arena tag, played airsoft and paintball and never shot over 100 ft.

  • Cool! More taggers in the world! :)

I'll be honest, I've never played paintball or airsoft. I've fooled around with a paintball marker and an airsoft gun or two, but the projectiles can't overcome the glaring problems those sports have for me. Cheat Prevention.

Ever since playing capguns, I've hated the "I got you!" / "No you didn't!" arguments. Paintball tries, but there's plenty of wiping and "That was last game" crap.

With lazer tag, once you're tagged, there's no denying it. I love that.

  • dous the lazer tag gun have the skrine on it or u have to buy it

  • the what? the screen? LTTO has a built in screen to show the information. Is that what you meant?

  • @ @ O

  • The one hosting games is the LTTO Deluxe tagger.

  • thanks man

  • You are quite welcome, my good man.

  • can the host play ???

  • For most games, yes, the host is also a player. There are two game types, Own the Zone and Respawn, that turn the host into a "base" type thing. In those games, the host tagger does NOT play, but remains to perform the duties of the base device. For standard team games, though, the host is a player.

  • WooooooooW

  • Your my idol...

  • then all is as it should be. :)

  • Oh My GOD! thank you so much, I've had to wait years to actually play this because I never had a clue what to do, but now because of your tutorial I can play everyday!

  • :O THANKS SO MUCH!

me and my friends were never able to host our game, Thanks a lot!!

  • lmao after he said ppl can start joining every one turns on there gun! lol

  • Yep! If you let people turn them on before hand, you get too much noise and stuff while you're trying to tell people what the stats and rules are for the game. Sometimes I even make one team join at a time so that there's not as much IR interference. With 24 people joining at the same time, there can be a lot of conflicts. The less conflicts, the faster they can join.

  • I have two guns, exactly the same as those, one green and one orange

  • 2:14 SCOPE???

  • That's the Lazer Tag Team Ops "Virtual Scope" accessory. It came with the Thunder Pack (hit/fire rumble) in an accessory kit that was available in 2005. I bought enough for all my taggers back then. They are as rare as hen's teeth now, though.

  • Cool video! I think I'll come join you sometime, as I was surprised to find out that I'm only a few miles north of there!

  • We happily welcome all new players! Refer to my site at altc*ggaub*com for dates.

  • where in the u.k do u get these guns, i wanna start playin wif my mates but i have no idea where they are from

    pleeeeeeez help.

  • The gear shown in this video is no longer being made. It's called Lazer Tag Team Ops, and there are three different taggers in the line. In order to buy some, you'll need to get lucky with a retailer who hasn't sold out of them, or find them on ebay or in thrift stores. Prices can get pretty high sometimes.

Your other option is the upcoming Phoenix LTX from Lazer Tag. It's not as advanced as Team Ops, but it IS compatible with it. Check out the Video Response from me for details on that one.

  • their making new ones. i saw a commercial for them, its like a shotgun blast.

  • Is that really a club? If so, I AM JOINING!!

  • Yes it is. If you're in the area, by all means, come to our next game and play! You can find all the details at ALTC *dot* GGAUB *dot* COM.

  • I have one and we always do either a regular game or custom game since we have no idea what the other one's mean. Do you know what they mean? (like 3TOZ, 2TOZ, OWNZ, 3KNG, 2KNG, HUNT, HDSK, 3TMS, 2TMS)

  • Descriptions for all the games are in the instructions that come with the toys, and on several web sites, including my own at ltag*ggaub*com

  • Alright thanks! I didn't even know you had a wesite until I searched it a couple hours after watching the video. But thanks. Also, thanks for the information of the Halo equipment.

  • WHAT DOES OPS MEAN????????

  • In most cases, "ops" is short for "operations". You might see it used a lot in video games, e.g. "spec ops" which would be short for Special Operations.

  • kk thx

  • dude where can i buy those things... i'm searching so long for it, i live in europe do you know a good internetshop???

  • No vest? So are you aiming at their gun? At least that makes it so people can't hide their target...

  • Yes and yes. :)

  • you can buy one of these for 20 bucks at target or walmart

  • That might have been true a year ago, but it's not any more. You can get cheap CRAP laser tag (i.e. Laser Challenge made by Jakks Pacific) for $20 for many stores, but you can't get Lazer Tag Team Ops any more. At least, not unless you're really lucky and have a store near you that managed to not sell them out to the scalpers who see that they can make a huge profit on ebay and amazon now.

But don't worry. The new Lazer Tag model should be out late summer or fall. It will pwn.

  • I also head that there is new Halo brand laser tag electronics coming out (I also believe there are some videos on here about it).

  • The Halo gear is fine if you're a collector of cool looking/sounding Halo stuff, but it's not much for actually playing laser tag with. The toys are bulky and awkward, have low range, the sensor is always getting blocked or hidden, no cheat prevention, and no scoring or even getting tagged out, since it just resets with no respawn counter. If you want to play a real life game of Halo, you should be using LTTO.

  • lol my friend has that exact one and he lives accross the road so we play it every day

    ...we get good practise

  • can u buy these online? show me tag plz

  • hey so i was reading through some of these posts, is it true they are making a newer lazer tag for the summer? if so i am really excited, i own 10 guns myself and we play all the time. just today i bought 4 guns at a yard sale for 25 bucks i was pumped

  • Yes, they are making new taggers for the summer. Should start appearing in small amounts toward the end of July, and then in larger amounts toward September.

Awesome find on those 4 taggers!

  • wow that is great news! do you think that the new versions will be compatible with the old ones? becuz right now the old ones are worth alot on ebay and such. so i was thinkin maybe sell em now and buy the new ones later?

  • You can do that if you want. What I know is that the new ones will be able to join LTTO games, and play in the basic LTAG game with LTTO, but the new stuff does not host games like LTTO. If you want scored games, you'll need at least one LTTO to host them. The new one has a TEAM LTAG game, though, allowing unlimited players per team without friendly fire, but LTTO can't play that game, and there's no scoring.

  • how do u know uve hit someone

  • The Tag Master Blaster has lights that flash when you tag it, but otherwise you can't be entirely sure every time. LTTO has a "hit confirmation" feature, that works much of the time, but is not reliable. When you see your opponent, you just take the shot. The ranks at the end will tell the true story, because every tagger remembers how many times every other opponent hit them.

  • They still have them on the hasbro website though

  • Yep. $5 is a steal for any LTTO tagger, with or without the head gear (HUD).

  • weasll: I'm guessing you're on the young side. I'm not going to argue with you about things that I know are fact. I've already explained the situation, AND answered your question about the new gear. Please take a few minutes to re-read my previous replies, and give them a few minutes to sink in. Also, I would appreciate it if you would at least TRY to spell words correctly.

  • thanks so much i finaly know how to host properly
