i own a gretsch g5120 electromatic and i was wondering if you could give me some advice: The guitar itself sounds amazing apart from the horrible tuners on it, however the stock pickups kill all the sound and remove those nice high single coil-ish frequencies. Do you recon it could sound a little bit like yours if id change the pickups? love your sound, max
I had your exact problem. I got rid of the guitar as they really are junk. All the hardware is cheap cheap cheap. I got a mexican tele with humbuckers. Changed the bridge as they were only tin and the tuners and it is the complete allrounder. You can make the humbucker sound like single coils with just the volume knob. It can do country. Rock you name it and I have played many us tele's that are nowhere near as good as my beast. The electrmatics are start up guitars and dont stay in tune.

Hey I am trying to decide between the D-two Delay rack and the Line 6 Echo Pro. I have a G-system and really like T.C Electronic Effects. I see that you use the D-two. I just don't know how many more delay effects the D-two has compared to the G-System. Any suggestions?

I think that when people differentiate between professionally recorded songs and song written by everyday people (what you might even term "folk" songs) that the music made by everyday musicians like you and me (I assume you play) can be denigrated to a certain extent. That's all.
I would also add that I have not read the comment you wrote (unless you are also ihitdrumz which is who I was responding to).
I understand its for charity... Wouldn't he have gotten more if he had just made like a signature Strat? Aren't more people going to be able to afford a nice tarted-up Fender (and thus contribute to the charity) than those who can drop thousands of dollars for the top-of-the-line Gretsch? Maybe I'd have an easier time swallowing it if he was even known as a guitar player.

Nice tone...i have bought a TC Fireworx hopping to do the same thing than with a TC D-Two Delay, there are many delays...i've not get the time to explore them as well(6 tap delays..funny but for what???).

No tubescreamer used at all. I'm running the Gretsch into a POd XT Pro for AC30 simulation and using a TC D-Two Delay...that's it.
