very bad strategy, never build barracks in dark age, normally don't need a mill till feudal age either. Also only start collecting wood when going to feudal.

@MATAtheFIRST Actually, it's very bad strategy not to build a mill in the dark age and to not collect wood because that would mean you built a mining camp and a dock to advance instead. Unless you built a lumberjack camp you don't even use.

I hope if he was playing with standard resources your advice would be drastically different. Because it would be impossible to advance without collecting wood, unless you chose not to build any houses, which would limit you to 4 villagers...

@h2olacky I Usually only need a mill when I'm already in the Feudal age. I hunt boar and sheep. Then build a mill near my berries and one near my deer. I do let one villager collect wood in the dark age. For every 5 on food I'll have one on wood. As I advance to the feudal age I'll put more villagers on wood to support my farms when the natural food resources run out.

an easier way to explore, and build multiple buildings is by holding down shift and clicking around, if you hold down shift while you have you cav unit, and click around the map, he will travel to each are where you clicked, then stop at the last place you clicked

Remember, every civilization has its own unique abilities and bonuses, as well as draw-backs.

You start with too many resources. It is too easy like this. Try to start with standard resources (200 wood, 200 food, 100 gold and 200 stone). The secret is to hunt at first for easy food.

No, he's trying to make everyone think he's amazing cause he can do it so fast. He might as well do it on Death Match. I personally would prefer to see him do it with LOW resources. I never play with more than Standard because it takes all the skill out of the game because to really be good and move through the ages fast and be dangerous you need to know how to make a good economy, which using high resources simply doesn't help.
