  • Wow, this version is WICKED!

  • Flour Love de reggae. Ninja Love de reggae. Zig It Up... LOL

  • very nice~!

  • Had this on vinyl when it came out-one of the greatest remixes ever with a bassline sent from GOD!!!

  • Tuuuuuune... from way back in 1989 :) i bought his album but this track still stands out a mile

  • What else do you expect from CJ Mackintosh and Dave Dorrell

  • love it !!!

  • Kick Ass Base, Make your heart beat go faster. Lov it. THX.

  • This is good, is this song lool

    I am stoned

  • One of the greatest hip hop / rap tune of all time - so mellow, so powerful, so right and just so good. Simply awesome, and more importantly, timeless. I still got the original 12" I bought when it first came out 20 years ago, annd y'know what, it sounds better now than what it ever did. Brilliant....

  • Must be Hercules

  • This is classic!!!!! NO DOUBT!!! :)

  • This re-miix by CJ Mackintosh from the UK was years ahead of it's time and is still very fresh today - a classic case of a re-mix far outshining the original both in quality, depth and insight.

Great track that still gets the house rockin' 20 years later.

  • This NEEDS to be reissued.

  • The best 5am track ever

  • Still got my 12'' copy on Delicious Vinyl :)

  • I used to think that Young MC was corny but noew that I've grown up I can appreciate his lyrical abilities moreso.

  • nice

  • much better than the original lol. :)

  • check out the original that the base was sampled from, Aaron Neville 'Hercules'. also a classic

  • Nice... I liked the original, but I didn't know the remix was THIS GOOD.

I guess a jam like this is like a good wine, company and love, it just gets better with age.

  • props to the ones who still try to keep it real and fresh. THANK God, Mohamed, Abraham and Buddah for originality. My ear just twitched.

  • i love dis track

  • To get this mp3 goto ezmp3grab doht cohm.

  • Prop to CJ Mack for putting UK hip hop talent in the know. Superb remix, was then, still is now.

  • First the bass beat grabs you, then in comes that ever-pounding snare drum which holds the whole thing together, combining to make it such a cool sound with some great rapping.

Excellent track by Young MC, and superbly remixed by the master himself, CJ Mackintosh - 10 out 10

  • A version that made this tune timeless....... an all time classic and probably my fave tune........... :=)

  • this remix shits all over the original version. A classic.

  • boom boo doo doooo da da doo doooo

  • who remembers Young doin the Taco Bell TV ads ???

"ello i'm Young Mc and i got a story to tell,i just got a free cup from Taco Bell"

i'm from the UK and went to America a lot in the late 80's early 90's and i really liked Young Mc and Taco Bell. We don't have Taco Bells over here......... Grrr!

  • yo man I just gotta say this...the first time I heard this mix was the same time it came out and you know what, I lost it right then. Since then it never ever left my mind and always thought it just disappeared of the face of the earth. Do you have any IDEA what it feels like..after all hope was lost.. to have found it after 20 looooong years...

reason i fell in love with this mix was the BASS.. never fell in love with a bass line like this before... ever!!!!!!!THANK YOU, I MEAN IT

  • @TheKedamawi This remix is amazing! The Southern Comfort mix of "I Come Off" can be found in the iTunes Store on the Deluxe Edition of Young MC's classic debut LP Stone Cold Rhymin'.

  • @deliciousvinyl This excellent version is also available on a compilation CD called 'The Rebirth of Cool", which also has some other great tracks on it.

  • @TheKedamawi

    Hey Ked

Its origiinally a Neville Bros bassline from Aaron Nevilles song "Hercules" around 1953 i think.

  • @lukaas0073 Thanks for the heads up! Personally I think real music stopped after the early 90's...yes there are a few here and there but the deep essence and true meaning of music just melted away... but hey thats just me talking.... thanks again! God Bless!

  • @TheKedamawi - Likewise..just heard this after about 20 years. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AMAZING TUNE!

  • @TheKedamawi me too, Iooked everywhere!

  • Respond to this video... Thank You x

  • Just awesome. Thinking of getting my band which is a swing thing/funk with 3 horns and RS to do a version. Now can the singer rap?

  • THIS BEAT IS SO FAMILIAR!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • markzzxx totally on point. Way ahead of its time this mix.

  • Genius mix for its time, the orig track was cheezy as hell..i remember listenin to this mix 20 years ago on a sat nite music dance show on 2jjj called the groove train with a guy called Andy Gittra or somethin..

  • hehe i remember andy glittra. one smooth mofo

  • @markzzxx the show on JJJ started around 9pm and initially was called the black music show then changed its name to the rythm method (in 1990) and I too remember this song from that

  • @godginrai1 ahh its all floodin back now..they sure were cool times indeed!!

  • the sample is from aaron nevilles hercules probably an even better tune, no definitely

  • Where do I know that bassline from??

    Its killing me..

  • enorme le morceau avec un lyric unique de young mc respect

  • Love this one!

  • Hi all... I'm looking to download this version, can anyone help? Been looking everywhere.

    Thanks

  • I have this 12" vinyl in my attick, awsome track

  • Was it played at Spike Island?, 'Know How' defenitley maybe was... anyway, The Young MC, fantastic stuff... fried, who me? oooh shiiiiittttt.....

  • for those of us at Spike Island, buzzin on the same vibe!!! the place went up upon the first few notes of this top mix, brings tingles n hits yer where it counts, top Young lad with some good old skool mellow braggin, nowt wrong with a bit of that!!!

  • been looking for ages for this ta very much indeed. beauty.

  • same with me, haven't thought about this song in 10 years, thanx

  • This is the version i remember

    I loved it

  • maybe its a woodblock or acow bell, in qotsa little sister they use a red one on the drum kit and they were arguing over what its called and it was called something else , sounded better to say than a cow bell any way, this trk has my 2nd fav lyric of the moment " i come off like the clothes on a hooker" my no.1 at present is dizzee rascals ability to ryhme "pin colada" with "or what ever youd rather" priceless trk i think holiday? will let u know if not

  • its the little things that make life more bearable, i like the touch of changing the image , spinning the record label as the hihat/tamberine drop comes in, u know i think i'm 2 easily pleased, but the trouble was gone to to do it and i noticed and i like it very much

  • I love this track.. Hercules by Aaron Neville on +8!

  • some proper old skool , but what ever happened to young? i miss him!

  • This remix brings the house down!

  • Thanks for posting version, it sounds way better than the original and kind of made Young MC sound like a legit MC! Some might disagree and some will agree, but it's nice to hear a actual flow on a record and not all this bull they call rap today!

  • @LGKids ya this sounds better than th original version,, I used to play this LP... its fucking great....

  • @magica2z , Word and peace!

  • beat is dope

  • wow i love this song i remember this when i was 14 lol.never did i hear this version love it thanks!

  • hell yeah,,, PROPER hip-hop....

It don't get much better !

  • Best musical artist of all time, and it's not really even close.

  • The most sexiest voice eva!

  • i come off., like clothes on a hooker..QUALITY

  • wicked ole skool tune!!!!

  • lovin the Baselineeeeee

  • Krass ! Since 10 years hearing this Remix in short succession....Coolest remix ever.

  • coolest remix ever....GREAT

  • old school bomba!!!!!

  • wow C.J Mackintosh. UK DMC DJ from back in the 80s....Do you remember "The Tables are Turnin" CJ Mackintosh (scratchin) ft. Einstein, Derek B "Get Down", We Papa Girl Rappers "We Rule" Caveman "Victory", Rebel Mc (well??? lolol), Silver Bullet "Bring forth the Guilotine" enuff big tunes in the U.K. That really was the kick-start of breakbeat/hardcore in the U.K. 1988/92.

    Great memories.

  • even if you been in prison you'd have heard me play....lol

  • Thanx. Rrrrufff like Freddie remix...

  • Thats kool he is english

  • mc young is english bet you didn't know that!

  • Can't say I did. I thought he was born in New York.

  • nope born in london, like slick rick then moved to new york (like many west indian immigrants at the time because as a commonwealth nation britain was easier to enter)

  • Fantastic remix, takes a pretty average rap and makes it utterly cool.

  • Say what,say what!!

  • This is the best Version of this Tune!

It contains a sample from "Hercules" by Aaron Neville!!!Love this Version!

  • he's like Fats Domino up on Blueberry Hill, his rhymes are funky fresh not run of the mill!

  • Young MC was actually fairly tight back in the day, but damn, your little girl cousin could rap over that bassline and sound dope.

  • haha!! I was just rappin over this bassline & thinking i sounded dope =) ..... but I am off da meat hook fo' sho' baaybee! "wen i rap a sound people yell 'ur a wigga' .. but i'm so underground ma doorbell is a digger" peice out xx

  • wezcie te piekne bity i wrzuccie je na plyty!

  • the sample is from the Aaron Neville song 'Hercules' speeded up.

  • Superb.

  • Yo, this is a dope remix. Takes the verses to a new and better level.

  • Excellent music :)
