Hi, can you tell me which one has more health benefits? Water fasting for 7 days in a row, or alternative fasting for a year? I am going to adopt alternative fasting as a lifestyle, and I am wondering if I should do a 7 water only fast.. Can you advice me? thank you
@NaTUraLeTeXTuRe I lose about 1.5 lbs per week, but it does fluctuate... maybe five months. That's counting up until today, which I now weigh 172. A calorie deficit is what makes you lose weight, but intermittent fasting makes eating that many calories easy with no hunger when you get used to it. That and I read of a study that said vs normal calorie restriction, you lose a higher percentage of fat (to muscle), along the lines of 90:100 compared to 75:25.

It seems like intermittent fasting will just be like weight off my shoulders! I won't have to think so hard about making sure I eat five meals or if I'm eating everything healthy, blah, blah....no stress! I love the idea of it :-).
