you said it. i got a chance to see him a couple years back when pinback was first starting out. i was so dumb-struck at how he played the bass, the way he used every finger at once. i went home that night and tried to inmatate what i saw, but no such luck. 3mp bhp and pinback are such underated bands.
I found a dark sarcasm 7'' on the internet. It's a good piece of history, but the recording quality and condition of the record (and the music itself) mean that it doesn't get played much.
Unfortunately it seems the very popularity of their "side projects" - Pinback and Black Heart Procession - prevented TMP from reforming... these days most people have no clue who they are... not enough of a "public outcry" for this legendary band to come together again. This was just for Corey.
I'm not sure even they know if they exist. The other bands formed at the same time, not instead of, and they have certainly played shows together -- they are all still friends. They've written a couple of records worth of songs in the intervening decade since they stopped playing together, so anything is possible. BTW I am glad that the rain let up for the show that day -- it would have been a really long drive to have missed this.
Nice to see I can still discover great things @ youtube! This is one great band, and a very nice live version. Too bad they don't exist anymore; but i guess splitting up to form pinback and the black heart procession is a nice alternative.
When the fuck are these guys doing tour dates, I know they got back together. I wanna see them !! ABS IV is a huge influence on my Bass guitar playing.
wow, awesome. I had no idea this even went down. What an amazing lineup of incredible bands that I never thought would play again. I love this song, so cool to see them play it.
I sort of guessed it would be from the Sinister album, but couldn't google my way to figure our which song this was and didn't have access to the full album.
BTW - they did play one song they said was new, and mentioned something about making new recordings that would go on T&G, though when asked when would they go out Pall sort of spread his hands, smiled and said "ahhh.. who knows..."
Great band. Greetz from Belgium!

This band owns my heart. Time to get back together. BHP and Pinback both have Myspace pages... we need to assure them that 3MP is not forgotten...

All of you in the "Know" talk about Black Heart Procession and Pinback, but who here has any Pitchfork, or Dark Sarcasm?!?
dunnright00 4 years ago
Dark Sarcasm was godawful... Pall actually sucked on vocals, bless him... of course he was just a teenager back then, eh?
