@TNTBlowinUp sure but if your kid as a barbie doll that speaks when you pull it's string and your child pulls it non -stop and it aggrivates you to no end, will you snatch it away from her throw it in the fire and say she's two old for barbie's ??. what mom did was just mean and she unfortunately payed for it.
@cartergirl3of3 Yeah, but we're talking about the movie. The mom can see that the man that she loves only wants the baby and nothing more, not her, not her daughter! That's all he wants. Hence she says magic doesn't exist for me, you or anyone else. She was trying to prove the world is a cruel place and she would make her see that no matter how much it hurt her. but i agree that the fire was a little too much, lol!

It's just so sad that Ofelia's mother denys her own daughter. Plus, she didn't have to easily give in to that motherfucker Vidal. Also, she shouldn't have destroyed that root even though Ofelia didn't see that coming. However, Ofelia did tell her mother that that root worked to help her recover. Even if the mother didn't know that destroying the root would kill her, it was still stupid enough to deny Ofelia. If she didn't burn the root she would have survived childbirth.
