You're comparing apples & oranges. When someone kills a cop during the commission of a crime, he may get (& deserve) the death penalty depending upon circumstances. If a cop kills a criminal while in performance of his duties, an investigation is carried out to determine if the shooting was justified or if excess force was used & the cop may be charged. If deadly force was completely unwarranted, the cop will be tried as any other criminal & sentenced accordingly.

@vsboy25 In Australia he would not get bail. No matter what the provocation (and it seems minimal) he voluntarily shot two people so bail was correctly put out of his reach. If he was a millionare it would have been set even higher. Anyone can see he's crying out for negative attention and has a wick a half inch long. He's sure to have been in trouble before. I do agree though that there was no need to use excessive force and using a tazer is excessive, and these cops should be charged.

They set the bond at a million dollars because he is a murderer and they don't want him to be able to make bond unless he wants to come up with an extremely high amount of money.

@bigfrotes9912 actually no, its not both crime and financial situation. its whatever amount of money will ensure that the person will come back to court. if a person is very wealthy they can recieve a large bail for a minor crime. if you make 40,000 a year and you kill someone, bail will be set at 20,000 because thats half your annual income so you need to go to court in order to get that back.

Nobody said cops were perfect, but the reason they are here is definately something that shows how society in general can not be trusted. People know we can't be trusted, the government knows we can't be trusted, even the guy who is doing wrong knows he can't be trusted, but what do we do? stop having cops? That would lead to shear chaos. I think the Internal Affairs departments should be more strict towards cops.

Everytime they arrest a drunk driver or someone driving under the influence they potentially save someones life. Everytime they draw their weapon is to try to protect someone, they just don't shoot people for J-walking. If someone does get killed by a cop, its probably for a good reason.
