You can know the state of a person's mind while they are in the 'vegetable state.' We have equipment that can detect a person is brain dead: their bodies are still functioning but the brain has ceased all processes. A person in that state isn't experiencing anything: They have no wants, no pleasures, no loves, because at that point they are just a body who's heart happens to still be beating. A human embryo, and a young fetus, is in the same state. There's a body, but no mind.

I'm not making any assumptions. Lobotomies were the product of desperation, not reason, and they are not analogous to the issue of abortion. Early developed fetuses and embryos don't have the ability to think or feel. You champion the rights of the child, but what of the mother? Does she get no say? Three things: First, I don't like the government being authorized to legislate based on moral values that include words like "sanctity". Second, I don't believe this controversy is within governmental jurisdiction. Third, I'm female and would probably want to utilize abortion in defending myself against the threat of an unwanted pregnancy.

My mom was adopted as a baby. If they had chose to abort her instead then me nor my sisters would be here. I was born late in my mothers life. She could have aborted me and then I never would have been adopted later cause my parents couldn't take care of me. The only problem with choosing to abort is the one being aborted does not get a option. If I were to find out that my mom even consider abortion; then when she was old I might consider euthanasia. Since she would be hard to care for.

You can know the state of a person's mind while they are in the 'vegetable state.' We have equipment that can detect a person is brain dead: their bodies are still functioning but the brain has ceased all processes. A person in that state isn't experiencing anything: They have no wants, no pleasures, no loves, because at that point they are just a body who's heart happens to still be beating. A human embryo, and a young fetus, is in the same state. There's a body, but no mind.

My mom was adopted as a baby. If they had chose to abort her instead then me nor my sisters would be here. I was born late in my mothers life. She could have aborted me and then I never would have been adopted later cause my parents couldn't take care of me. The only problem with choosing to abort is the one being aborted does not get a option. If I were to find out that my mom even consider abortion; then when she was old I might consider euthanasia. Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in America. 78% of their clinics are in minority communities. Blacks make up 12% of the population, but 35% of the abortions in America. Are we being targeted? Isn't that genocide? We are the only minority in America that is on the decline in population. If the current trend continues, by 2038 the black vote will be insignificant.

pro life people have their logic fucked up, people say that abortions kill babies, wrong for a fetus/child to be considered a human being it must be able to sustain itself independent from a host. . So until the fetus is able to live outside the womb it us is not given human rights, at this early stage its a series of chemicals. they claim ur not actually killing a life but ur preventing it. condoms do the same thing, so is that abortion as well?last, dont agree with abortions, DONT HAVE ONE.!

Oh wonderful. Race card. That's what did it--abortion. Because the clinics send out charming pamphlets with messages like, "Pregnant? We have 50% off--THREE DAYS ONLY--all abortions!" Abortion is not the fault of the clinic, they are a humane service that prevents women from using kitchen knives to self abort or back alley quacks. Women choose to do it.
