This was the result of the uncontrolled release of highly radioactive fission products of the melted fuel in those disasters. Do you know how to do a calibration check. Do you know what general backround is for the area and what isotopes are indiginous to that same area. This video makes me sick. My dad was the former plant manager at the Byron nuke plant. I know quite a bit of info. Yes there was radiation releases but a very safe amount. Infact there is more radiation on bananas then there was released from byron. Also byron is about 120 miles away. This was the result of the uncontrolled release of highly radioactive fission products of the melted fuel in those disasters. Not the low level isotope Tritium which is the original arguement from the video which is why I posted in the first place to correct the missinfo that dutchie put out.

The fact is, all radiation is bad for you if you get a big enough dose, or you are exposed to it for a long period of time. Do you know how to do a calibration check. Do you know what general backround is for the area and what isotopes are indiginous to that same area. This video makes me sick. My dad was the former plant manager at the Byron nuke plant. I know quite a bit of info. Yes there was radiation releases but a very safe amount. Infact there is more radiation on bananas then there was released from byron. Also byron is about 120 miles away. This makes me sick to the fact that all these liberals are unsupportive of nuclear power. The plant did what it was supposed to do! I live in Byron! People in here are educated about the plant and know its okay!

@Fordi About 3mile island, In 1997 A 2nd look by Steve Wing, Associate Professor of Epidemiology at University of North Carolina found that among the 20,000 people who lived near the plant and close to the plume's path, lung cancer and leukemia rates were two or more times higher than what they were near the plant but upwind from the plume. Among those in the most direct path of the plumes, lung cancer incidence went up by 300 to 400 percent, and leukemia rates were up by 600 to 700 percent.
