  • ...and then Vectrix went bankrupt.

Shame really. But if your business model involves selling a bike that costs the same as a 750 but performs like a 125 then, well, it's not going to work.

  • @AshtonPhoto I'm convinced that those looking at purchasing this bike are not concerned with the characteristics that a 750cc engine delivers. As these bikes become more popular, you will see that better electric technology will allow for an electric bike that performs like a 750cc gasoline bike will come to market. Batteries are the problem at the moment, as that improves, so will the performance. In the automotive market the Tesla demonstrates this with its 3.9 second 0-60 acceleration.

  • @criticallistenphile

True. The proof of the pudding is in the eating, and nobody wants to pay wedding cake money for a cupcake's worth of dessert. 3.9 sec to 60 is great, but that was its max speed.

What we need is at least enough range to account for planned --and unplanned-- trips during a typical day. At <100 miles, the Vectrix simply didn't cut the mustard.

  • HAHA! "When and *if* you need to charge it..." No, no, correction, WHEN you need to charge it. Not when and if, what a douche fuck.

  • "When and *if* ...." so what? Picky sod. You'll not need to charge it EVERY time you hop on!

  • i love the design it looks awsome

  • well, being that one of my activities is to go visit my girlfriend often, and she lives 25 miles from my house, I'd have to disagree with you. before I could consider plunking down 9 grand on something like this, it'd have to have better range. When it gets up to a range of 100 miles or so, it will be more appealing.

  • Awesome technology. I love that EV "whine." Sounds like a jet turbine.

  • i love the look and size of this bike - more like a motorcycle than a scooter. speed is impressive, too. the deal-killer, as always, is range. I just can't see plunking down $9k on something that's only going to get me 40-50 miles down the road. hopefully there will be battery technology advancements soon that will provide a decent range. when that happens, these things are going to sell like crazy.

  • yeah but this is supposed to be a city vehicle. This would cover all of my dayly activities and it charges in just 3 hours!!! too bad it is not available in my area... :(

  • Vectrix is a quality scooter, believe me. I testdrove it a week ago. Amazing ride.

  • What kind of education did a person have to punctuate their comments with swear words? Saying "shit" "cunt" "gonna" only proves the last commenter is a moron who has not been taught to use the English Language properly and is of very low brainpower.

  • Is there an expansion pack for the batteries to allow for more range? and when is a crotch rocket version coming out and for how much?

  • Fabulous. Nice, beautiful, hopeful!

I want one! My own one!

  • Beautiful clean bike. Definite status symbol. Smooth styling and well thought out. The future of good design. Well done.
