I love Whitney! In her prime she was untouchable. Also, Comparing Whitney and CeCe is ok, but they have different strengths. Whitney's upper belt is explosive and electrifying, whereas Cece has a richer mid and bottom belt. Whitney hands down!

WHITNEY what a beautiful person. the inocent. young. fresh and that voice. Bobby should be ashamed of what he did i know it takes two to tango but he knew how good she was and what she was like. WHY lead her down that path. he could have nurtured her.loved her. and can u imagine what she would sound like now if there were no drugs involved and she had looked after her voice. NO-one could have touched her even these days.

@kmaur21 You know that was G5# A5 and she did not have to work up there it was mad effortless. I heard her belt as high as D6 in head/mix and Bb5 in full chest. Her soprano belt is extremely high and she still can belt F5's and G5's in mask chest easily now at her worst.

@joohsay Actually in every one of her duets, especially the earlier years, she seems to hold back A LOT and actually take a big step back and let the other person go off. Only very few like Divas 99 With MJB I saw her really get right into it, but it didnt seem like she was going over Mary just they were both digging deep into the raw intensity of the song. But most songs she really takes a huge step back when in a duet or even trio or whatever

@quiet1234 Very true. I remember hearing back when she did "Hold Me" with Teddy Pendergrass that they purposely had her hold back because they didn't want her voice to overshadow and drown out his. Whitney is well aware of what she can do and I have rarely(if ever) seen her look to purposely overshadow anyone she has done a duet with from Aretha to Jermaine to Cece to Enrique.

@readysetdie1 there was body language all up and through this video. did you see the way cece looked at whitney at 1:06 when she was finishing her verse. like "top that!" gave her the eyebrow and all. she may as well have dug her own grave. notice how at the end of whitney's part at 1:23 she gave it right back "as if to say 'CHECKMATE!'" im convinced they had a lil "friendly" rivalry going on. see how at 4:01 it basically look like cece is retreating when whitney let's that final ad-lib go.

I looked up the lyrics, because I was in disbelief . . . but at 1:40 whitney says "boys and girls, can't you see, the kinda friend that crack can be" I guess this was a message about inner-city issues at the time, but it's strangely prophetic now. I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT'S WHAT SHE'S ACTUALLY SAYING!!

i don't think that run at 3:53 was rehearsed either. you can see at 3:51 that she was about to sing the "won't you please, America?" with them but she dropped out. then when she did it bebe was lookin at her like"niiicccceeee..." and cece looked like she was thinkin "this b*tch stealin my song" but she recovered with a semi-smile. then bebe threw his lil piece in and the end and whitney wasn't havin it

There is no question that these two ladies have incredible voices, but the song is a nasty little piece of religious propaganda, calling for the church to get involved in politics....and we've all seen how well THAT has worked out.
