    what happened there was for some reason the engine surged in rpm, the engines over speed govanor stepped in and shut the injection down, the thing went big time lean with the nitrous still pumping in hard and it ignited explosively in the turbo.

    put a P7100 Injector Pump on it And start from there

    I remember ordering my Cummins Powered Dodge in 1989. Higher Boost will decrease your EGTs

  • @SuperBJ74 This was a P-Pumped 24V which is pretty much the best of both worlds you get the awesome injection pump that is the P7100 and you get better airflow into and out of the cylinder with more valves. I'm not sure what his EGT's were, but I'm fairly certain they were in the range of hottern hell holy crap that's gonna melt something.

  • @SuperBJ74 Higher boost will in fact cool your EGT's but when you're trying to run a big single turbo you have to trade off spool up for max boost. It's a damned if you do damned if you don't type deal

  • Just my opinion on the matter. But lots of smoke means HIGH EGTs. High EGTs means your turbo is getting HOT HOT HOT!! Combine with the fact that you ran it like that for about a minute straight...no fuckin wonder your turbo keeled over!

    And to any dumbass who has a problem with diesels blowing black smoke...it's only soot. It doesn't go into the atmosphere. It falls to the ground and is more biodegradable than a damn limb off a tree!

  • @SarraPiyopiyo This isn't my truck, but for the most part propane is used to gain efficiency, not to put down monster numbers on the dyno, and this was all about putting down numbers.

  • @ahnbra A good 2k+ in damage, the turbo blew and thus igniting all that unburnt fuel in the manifold and exhaust explaining the fireball, I bet he blew his manifold apart, and would suprise me if the head made it through that also. he has some rebuilding to do.

  • @cumminsboy13 This was a non load dyno, and the truck had a very big turbo on it...you are completely correct they are sometimes hard to spool in inertia dynos.

  • nitrous and turbo's are a lot different.. One forces pressurized air into a cylinder, the other (nitrous) forces more oxygen into the cylinder allowing more fuel to be burnt.

  • @CornFed500HP true, but nitrous is actually not forcing oxygen in the cylinder, it just injects the gas at a high pressure and the nitrogen drops out of the chemical and their is just oxygen let so it runs off basically pure pressurized oxygen, very nice!

  • @cumminstexas1 To begin with you cannot inject diesel fuel and Nitrous Oxide into the intake system or ports as you would inject both fuel and Nitrous in a petrol engine. The reason is simple, the fuel ignites under the compression stroke and does so far too early in the cycle -- way before it should! This means your engine will either stop dead in its tracks or more likely break something expensive! Either way you really wouldn't want to try it

  • @1gamoguy I did answer your question. NOS makes a diesel kit, Nitrous Express Makes a diesel kit, these are two of the biggest names in nitrous systems so I assume you have heard of them. There are absolutely no holes in my logic. Do some research there are thousands of people running nitrous systems on diesel truck. Google is your friend haas.
